  1. first place to check is drivers side in the engine bay. Just in front of the PAS pot there you will see a bunch of plugs which are for the auto box loom. One of which should now lead to the manual box reverse switch, unwrap whatever tape is on the custom cable and confirm they are not touching each other.
  2. well if your lights come on then its not the switch as its the switch which triggers your lights in the first place !
  3. its in the actual gearbox but if you say its never binged until now and also that you've had a conversion I would say one of the cables for the conversion needs sorted. Firstly stick it into reverse and get someone to check if the reverse lights actually come on. If they don't then either the switch is busted or the loom is which should be a custom cable from the gearbox to the drivers side of the engine bay. Else an easy fix is to remove the binger module which is located under the dash somewhere near the heater pod ecu in the drivers footwell.
  4. Reverse switch could be faulty or permanently grounding itself making the ecu think your in reverse gear hence the binging noise.
  5. Gary, have you had a facelift since we last met ?
  6. Sad to see you go Jeff, hopefully you'll still join in on tech discussions with your point of view from time to time. Enjoy your time in the sun. All the best.
  7. Congratulations on your new business venture Mark, I wish you all the best.
  8. yeh I enabled the extra button, Its likely got turned on at last update and turned off again somehow and I never noticed as I don't use it.
  9. JaiKai replied to Yowser's topic in Forum Issue Tracker
OK, The reason for the issue is related to version 4 of the forums and the way it uses MYSQL in its searches. In MYSQL which is the main database software the is a minimum word setting which currently we cannot change and its now set at 4. This word setting is preconfigured and is related to our ISP's server which they will have to change for us, unfortunately the change also effects other users using the same system as far I'm aware so they won't just change it at the wisp of our request. But I will put it forward and see what they will do for us. Lee
  10. now added back on, even though I don't remember it being there or turning it off, lol
  11. Yeh, its a bugger that one, seems the smallest search needs to be about 4 or 5 letters or more now.
  12. ok, i'll try sqeeze something in, never noticed it myself but likely because i'm so used to using the other way.
  13. where did you think it used to be, on what bar or next to what other option ? Seriously its never showed on my system; nothings been touched for over a month and I've always used the notification centre to get to pm's.
  14. So it has been a while since you've been here then, as the PM systems been like that for just over a year now.
  15. You know if we banned you it would be a year until we could think about letting you back !!
  16. he's likely saved his password history so he can log in without actually having to type it.
  17. When was the last time you were on the forum ? There's been many changes over the last year and its now under the Notifications dropdown !
  18. are you trying to reset a password or create a new account? as the forum rules only show on creating a new account as far as I know.
  19. Not personally fitted one but I know an old member who had issues and had to trim the inside slightly to get it to fit.
  20. Maxfd permanent ban as its just Gonzo12c who is currently serving a 3 day ban
  21. Nice, get some pics up then !
  22. with electronic hicas there is no oil pipes to bypass, simply unbolt and unplug it. as far as to have or not to have all depends on personal driving preference I guess. personally it feels a better drive and you don't feel your backend gonna drift without warning.
  23. exactly the same, mines a series 4 and I fitted the driftworks kit!
  24. You can have many wireless routers setup on the same subnet ! as long as they all have separate ip addresses and only one is setup as the default gateway. and by default gateway I mean the one that hooks you to your service provider and runs the DNS and DHCP services, all others must have these services disabled or setup to forward dns / dhcp requests to the main gateway. If you do daisy chain as andy says it could work if using the WAN port but again can cause issues with speed and port forwarding all depending on how good the kit your using is and your doubling up the feature what the switches uses called nat.
