Another update on my build. Managed to get the timing sorted to about 15 BTC after she warmed up but luckily I had consult running as the temp shot up to nearly 90 and kept rising so I quickly turned the engine off to examine what was up. Well the new radiator was stone cold and the and the polished water pipes were scolding. Not good - I stripped the whole front end again and removed the water stat to take home and test. 1 boiled kettle later you can see that the valve opens as it should : So was the issue a airlock in the system or something worse ? Also how can I tell that the water pump is working ?

Finally found one and heading to the garage now. But can anyone tell me how to time a auto ? As conzult says the timing is about 19 is this what I time it too ? Or do I just do it to 15, mind when I put it into gear the timing changes. So do I need someone to sit in the car with it in gear as I time it ?

They are cheap but was trying to get the job done over the weekend. So many issues with the engine i wanted to work on it today or tomorrow.

Just a loop, as my boss that i bought from zcentre had a plug with a loop on white and yellow, never had a resistor on mine.

they are brand new bosch o2 sensors.

Looking for a replacement clock shroud. This is the black plastic piece that fits over the clock.

Also on the consult screen why is the o2 readings so low?

The timing does change to 15 when i put it into gear. But as i have a smoking and oil leak and not running the engine for that long to get it upto full temp.

And it was an auto but now a manual.

Standard but its been rebuilt by Lee Dent.

Its about the only thing on conzult that is set right.

Hopefully have a guy who knows a guy with a timing gun so will get that seen to in the morning. Whats up with the TPS as I thought 0.44 was a the good target voltage to get.

Think that's just because it's not been turned over for over two years. My main concern is the idle and all the smoke. Just hope I never missed a gasket somewhere.

Back at the garage earlier and apart from not finding a timing gun I seem to have bigger issues. First is I have a bad oil leak which I haven't identified where its coming from but its dripping down from the oil filter so fingers crossed that its just needs tightened. The next issue is that after 30 seconds from cold start or warm start shits loads of smoke rise from both sides of the engine. The engine also has a extremely high idle of over 1400 / 1500 which I can't get down. I put a wee video up shortly.

No it didn't, suggestions to what grease to use ?

Looking for help with anyone in the west cost that has a timing light gun. Trying to get this engine setup over the weekend and can't find any local dealers who have a timing gun.

Starter relay bypassed and started first time! Oooo and she is loud. Waken the zed up after two years woke the neighbourhood.

Using the drive manager see if it shows in there. Delete the partition and recreate it then format.

The plug on its own is actually part of the kit from wiring specialties and just figured out its to be plugged into the inhibiter loom. The manual conversion was done years ago but the wiring specialties loom takes care of like of the neutral switch and reverse lights with proper plugs rather than hacking of connectors. What I can't understand is how I bypassed this inhibitor switch previously as I've never touched the main relay. Only thing I can think of is I've just joined the park sensor cables together and now they are not by me cutting off the plug.

4mm and 6mm are the norm I believe. 6mm comes off the turbos, 4mm from the plenum at various points going to the blow off valves. I have hundreds of vac pipe and when I changed my colour scheme I just loom tapes all the red stuff I had now it looks oem.
