I've heard of them but never seen one personally. Apart from the bad spelling on the box I think you can tell by the bad stickers used for likes of the serial numbers and manufacturer label on the sender unit. I'm fairly sure the one I have is genuine (touch wood) and the labels are a higher grade and the manufacturer label on the sender is made out of metal which also looks genuine.

Also spy the engine and gearbox that was from the old zed sitting on the trailer. Plan at some point tomorrow to get the hauled off and on the stand to fully inspect.

Then onto the fuel :) When purple rain was written off it was 5 miles away from where I filled the tank so I wasn't for leaving any of that fuel. Tried to syphon out the fuel via the filler hose but that didn't work so I dropped the tank and stuck a hose in the top. 30 litres later I managed to get about 1/2 of what was there. So I went home and reversed the process back into the new zed

Few more bits taken off the old zed today one of which was my blue front glass. kit cost me £40 and roughly 20 minutes to get the glass out. Well worth the buy as I plan to take the tailgate glass out for the respray too.

Sure it's the same bottle as Japspec with an extra connection.

If you can get down to Dundonald near troon within the next two weeks you can have blue tint glass for free if you can get it off my old zed.

Done two myself so far and will be removing the third in about a week or so for my respray.

Hi Jeff, I had two non return valves fitted to my setup to combat that effect but I have since moved to a manual balance bar.

Agree on that, my zed has one and clutch is nice and light.

I know, this was more of an informative post for everyone else.

Door loom can be detached from next to the footwell at each side. You will need to remove the sill kick plate and the other plastic cover. Door handles have two nuts.

Don't need to take the glass out but you will need small hands to take off the small wires for the lock mechanism. Take the door card off and you will see holes that you can get a socket head into. First time you do it, it feels like a krypton factor test. :)

With or without the clutch vacuum tank you still need to connect the lines up to the balance bar. If you have an auto balance bar then just splice into the brake master vacuum pipe with a Y adaptor as I did in my old zed. Just remember you still need a non return valve else the brake and clutch will be fighting each other when you use the pedals.
