  1. I changed the clutch master about a month ago, and dinn't have to remove anything from the inside, apart from some skin that is. hope this helps
  2. - Have a good rubdown with some 600 grit wet n dry - Wipe over with thinners / brake fluid - Couple of light coats of primer - Couple of light costs of satin finish black - Leave to cure, then fit to car and admire your handy work :) Hope this helps Simon.
  3. Engine out for sure. I've done this twice now, and each time I wondered at how on earth the turbos, esp one side in particular, could be changed from underneath. Simon.
  4. The reason for having a rear facing camera is odd enough, but was the crash supposed to happen? The two indicators are Front-G's and Side-G's presumably - since they go sky-high when an impact(s) occurs? Whats the story? Si.
  5. Free ceramic-straighteners or thinning scissors would ensure a life-long subscription then? :)
  6. Oh, and why on earth does the poll-ing software on this site still print diddy-little bars for 0% - surely there should be NO bar at all???
  7. A thousand votes could only be notched up by a nervous quivvering finger - which is usally brought on just before the finger-owners bank account gets a serious shafting from one of the above mentioned companies. :)
  8. If the last option is actually supposed to mean 'DIY' then thats me :) And when the car's done, I'll be proud to say I not been overcharged / had to wait in waiting rooms / had to put up with crappy customer service, etc while another company works on my car. And I've learnt one hell of a lot about my Z in the meantime. Simon.
  9. So long as you have oil pressure, the noise should calm down after about 5 minutes of idling. During this time the lifters should expell the air inside which will be replaced by the fresh oil. (It is possible for a lifter to get stuck though if it's been allowed to become dry for any period of time, this could lead to a stuck open valve if you're unlucky) hope this helps Simon.
  10. I use optimax too, but am prepared to fill up with diet-fuel for a few weeks, just means I should avoid full boost > 5K where det is sometimes heard on mine. I'd really like to see the price come down. I'm sure its just the UK and US government making false claims so they can hike the price, when in actual fact they're using the tax to pay for the massive spend that was put into Iraq. I heard last week (and please correct me if i'm wrong) that the UK for example has spent more on the 'war' than a whole years budget for the NHS!! Disgusting really. :( Si.
  11. Any one got the GPS position of where that boat went down? I'm going fishing :D
  12. The master cylinder can always be fully depressed if any of the bleed valves are undone. In the event of total hydraulic-brake failure, you have the handbrake to slow and ultimately stop the car. Go buy yourself a bag of salt, sounds like it'll come in handy each time your mate tries to diagnose a problem with your car. hope this helps Simon.
  13. And they say alcohol does you no good! LOL. Looks like it was your saviour. Glad you're ok. Heard on the news that quite a few people didn't make it, so hat off to those not so fortunate. Simon.
  14. All the non-watch wearers stay up late too I see :) Stu, your reason is actually the same as mine! I had a fake Tag Heure and the strap catch broke. After that I never bothered getting another one. I must admit the left arm felt rather naked for a while :) Another bonus is no tan line! (but I'm not that picky when if comes to other areas of non-tanned parts)
  15. Just read a comment about losing a watch by 'Mark', which got me thinking, since I've not worn a watch for about 10 years or so. I rely on a well-honed sense of time, oh, and the fact that my mobile acts as a pocket-watch these days. So are you a watch wearer? (p.s. This is my first poll, so hopefully it'll work!)
  16. Thanks for your links chaps much appreciated. I'll let you know what I go for..... Simon.
  17. I'm currently in need of some replacement door mirrors, but need some thoughts or suggestions about aftermarket ones. I notice there's not been any discussion of these before, and after a brief search on the net, I can't find any plug n play alternatives Suggestions please? Cheers Simon.
  18. I want to see video footage of somebody taking the plunge - preferably someone who didn't choose to go in :) Unfortunatly I won't be there, as (if the dates are to be relied upon), I will be into the tenth day of being a father! Simon.
  19. Sun dial isn't it??
  20. Shows you how screwed up beliefs must be!
  21. Failing that, tell the insurance company it ended up in the wheely bin by mistake when you were having a clean-out. You'll be covered for that kind of accident I reckon
  22. From a 1991 UK spec Red Manual TT: JN10RGZ32U0nnnnnn replace the six n's with a number of your choice, e.g. 002500 Regards Simon.
  23. Very nice Mike - looks very 'smooth' Simon.
  24. Rob, I ordered a box of these (10) from the Motorbike shop where my brother works - they're an NGK dealer amongst other makes, and there was no problem getting them. Shall I ask him for a quote on another? Simon.
