front crossmember z32 300zx n/a 1990
Ah well done. Second hand or patent part? I am currently of the impression that no other companies make patent (or is it pattern) parts for the Z - hence the smart reply :) Si.

cheap 4x4
Daihatsu Sportrak's are pretty cheap these days.

When changing the clutch????
Also a good time to change the knock sensor and harness (see courtestpart.com) if you've been getting the error code 34. Regards Simon.

someone is selling pics of YOUR car!
Too right! I'd be asking the seller of that cd for £4.99 in royalties if my car was 'featured' on his 'information' cd :) Simon.

Serious wide arse!!!!!
O dear Bob - you've dug up a nasty here! But someone will like it!!! Why's his oil pressure gauge reading 60psi when the engines not running I wonder??!! :x:
-
Engine numbers
Back of the engine - stamped into the cylinder block, right next to where one of the heads meet the block. Probably be pretty hard to read, as it probably would have rusted somewhat. Can't remember which head its next too - but I think it's the offside (UK drivers side) Hope this helps a bit

What to do....Wifes Birthday??
Hi Kirbz, ditto here actually. Missus is 30 in Feb also! She's booked herself laser-eye surgery as a present! LOL - at least she'll be able to see in the mornings instead of fumbling around for her glasses. With regards to a present; I haven't decided yet, but if we do go away, we also have the headache of taking our 18 month old son too. Good luck

looked for water leak and found this...
Apart from the p/s fuild and oil that's been splashed about you've not nothing to worry about. The standard UK oil pressure sender cable only requires one cable.

How fast is this Nissan?
Reckon it bit into the seat! :D

broad band
Hi Jason, There's a lot of Service Providers in the UK with BT being the data carrier in almost all cases, but prices do vary. Have a look here to see the top providers, and other helpful info: http://www.adslguide.org/ (I use Plus Net btw) Cheers

PTU...Bad Fuel....Wet Maf ??
Next time it cuts out - make a note to listen if the secondary electric fan has come on - if it is then it's a dodgy temp sensor connector. Cheers

Would you fookin' beleive it!
Somewhere in the UK will be able to recondition your unit I'm sure.

688rwhp dyno sheet as promised.
I'm sorry Kirbz, but your statement condradicts your previous statement about turbos flowing air. That's all they do. Remember, turbos do not stop flowing any more air when they're pushed, they just become less efficient, and would require a lot more exhaust pressure to flow more at the compressor wheel. Activating the NOS will do just that - increase the exhaust pressure a lot.
-
688rwhp dyno sheet as promised.
Fair enough, but why I wonder is it common in the RB26 community to reach these high figures, it because they have, on average, more money to spend then us Z guys? And most of us are happy with light to moderate power modifications before we draw the line? I suspect this is close to the truth. I for one am inclined to believe this chap, but have an open mind, and accept that it is possible the dyno graph is showing estimated flywheel horsepower. Is it not also possible that he has an NA diff which would provide much more power at a given speed. NitroPow - can you confirm that figure is Rear Wheel horsepower, or is it estimated flywheel power, and tell us whether you have any drive train modifications or not?
-
688rwhp dyno sheet as promised.
Agree with you Pete, I really hope NitroPow is genuinely producing said power in his Z..... Eggs on faces springs to mind :) Why is it when somebody gets 600bhp out of a Skyline the figures are never disputed but when somebody does the same in a Z - it's a load of BS?? Just my 2p

low speed drivability after extensive mods
Hi Henry, I wouldn't consider the injectors to be a problem. I, like many others, are running with Nismo 555's and have no problem at all. Is the chip you're running, got retarded timing for low revs too? - that would definitely have an adverse effect. I'll send you my .bin file if it helps....? Cheers Simon.

backend leakage
I had a similar problem about 3 years ago - turned out to be the oil seals on the rear drive shafts. not too difficult to change once you've got under the car. The most difficult bit was getting the old seals out imo Hope this helps

Which Broadband provider
Hi Mate, Me and a few work colleagues are all on Plus.net (http://plus.net/) - they do a £14.99 p/month option I believe - worth checking out I guess. Also, you can get a lot of good advise from here: http://adslguide.org/ Hope this helps Simon.

Quick question, ***BOFFINS!!!!***
You say you've disconnected the air-con... have you left the compressor or some of the pipe work in there? Since there's a good cupfull of oil in the aircon circuit. Just a thought.... Simon.

BLAZT E.C.U. Cable ???
England - Brrrrrrr!.. and going to be getting colder! Welcome to our forum by the way! Where abouts in the UK will you be? (I'm guessing London) Simon

BLAZT E.C.U. Cable ???
Hi m8 - I can vouch for these working a treat. Got one myself from Martin Cooksey - see ZCarJase note above. Arrived the day after ordering! Cheers Simon.

Clutch vacuum pipe removed?
same story here - leaking clutch booster diaphragm on mine. You can hear the hiss change tone when the pedal is depressed. So disconnected it. Have you seen the price of a new one!! lol - I'd rather have the left-leg work-out when stuck in traffic!

Advice for snow
Stick a couple of space-savers on the rear - that should help! SERIOUSLY! Better still leave it Z at home!
-
oh dear!!!!!
Hi Craig, That small cut away is supposed to be there to allow leaked oil to drain from the bell housing - The rear main seal is usually the culprit here - cheap part to buy, but, much bigger cost in changing it unless you DIY or get mates rates. Cheers Simon Editted: The above is pretty much what Andy said! lol - your reply wasn't there when I started to reply myself :)
