  1. Do you have a picture of how the gauges are wired for the MPH / KPH converter, might have a touching wire on something else.
  2. I shall try and get a vid of mine playing avatar in 720p the HD65 (what i have) is pretty much the HD66 and was the first projector they show cased and used as a test bed for testing the 3D-XL unit on. There is another way to get 3D via projector, without going down the 3D-XL route which can add an extra £250 ontop, and thats with Nvidia's 3D vision, but pay close attention to supported projector list on Nvidia's site for that, as the 3D vision software will only work with whats on that list (there is a drive hack, but too much fiddling to get to work) but with the N3D vision kit, at least it will play 3D games and movies. I picked my HD65 up on ebay for £100, with a bulb with only 400 hours into its 2k life span. i got it cheap as the color wheel has shattered inside, so when it arrived it was in black and white lol, i waited 6 months for a color wheel for the HD65 to appear on ebay, as optoma would not sell parts to anyone who isnt an affiliated optoma parts specialist. i was lucky that a guy in the US had 10 units of the color wheel, £25 and another £14 for shipping and i fixed it my self. The advice id give with a second hand unit, is do not trust the lamp hours, as they can be reset anyway with out the lamp being changed, so if you get a second hand unit, at least buy a new lamp to slot in, regardless of the lamp hours claim. the lamps dim over time and you loose brightness.
  3. If i was going to buy another projector, this is the one I would personally go for. http://www.optomausa.com/products/detail/HD33
  4. The rainbow effect is due to how many segments on the color wheel there is with a DLP projector, my HD65 does not produce the rainbow effect due to the amount of color segments it has, unlike the last projector i had that only had 4 plus one white, this has 7 plus one white. Its rated at 720p but can and will output a 1080p signal with comfort, although you actually lose screen size on the edges as it defaults to an almost 4:3 aspect ratio (its not as its still widescreen but slims the image down) I have just a white painted wall, the image is clear and crisp, id ideally love a motorized projector screen mounted from the ceiling, i use my projector solely for films, and its hooked up to my PC via HDMI, routed through a 3D converter box, that then converts the signal from SBS (side by side) or TB (top bottom) to FS (frame sequential) that the projector needs. If you are only using it for films, get some black out curtains or blinds, these are essential to making the room dark enough to give nice rich blacks and very good color. I have not had an issue with color saturation / contrast on a Blu ray film played through my projector even though its projecting on a wall with crappy wood chip wall paper, You can not even tell the wall paper has texture. It is true you lose some brightness with 3D, but i find its actually not too bad and isnt anything you can not combat by adjusting the brightness of the unit anyway. Software for 3D or HD video i use is VLC player for HD content. (MKV files) Or PowerDVD for blu rays / 3D blu rays / 3D files For 3D just remember you need a projector 3D ready, with HDMI 1.4a connector and hopefully with it being 3d ready, should be able to output 120mhz. The 3D-XL by optoma will input with a 1.4 HDMI and output to 1.3 HDMI connector. (still unsure on difference between the versions but can stop people enjoying 3D and they get stuck not realizing) Another one with 3D failing to work, is the 120mhz out put range, a lot of projectors have the 3D settings grayed out until it detects its receiving 120mhz signal from the source, so pay attention to anything with 3D and check the specifications. For a PC, you will need a video card able to handle 3D content at 120mhz, and also a 3D blu ray drive, and then software.
  5. Ive send him a message on ebay, would rather do that than ring him out of the blue lol
  6. im running a Optoma HD65 with the firmware upgrade for 3D 120mhz, you can connect it with the 3d-XL unit by optoma as well, and get full 3D
  7. Can anyone remember who the guy on ebay was that was supplying the above? wouldnt mind getting a drivers side set before i need them
  8. rear sills 350 per side X 2= £700 rear arch per side £150 X 2 = £300 = £1000 And thats before you add on front struts and underseal. think i can see what you are getting at, its not a "are you sure?" as an over estimation, but rather a lower figure than expected, especially considering he has also been quoted for the turret tops on the front of the car as well. does seem a bargain of a price when you look at it that way. as it doesn't seem to even cover labor costs as well. sounds good to me lol
  9. halfords do a black silicon sealant, which would be better to use as it blends in with the dash as it is.
  10. Id be more interested in his ability to confuse OEM brake calipers with brembo ones, and wonder what else he is telling porkies on.
  11. fitted some rear brake disks and new rear pads, then wondered what this small metallic object was sticking out of my tire, went to remove it encase it got pushed in further, only for the air pressure in the tire to spit it out and deflate it self, so fitted my space saver and went and got a puncture repair as a short term solution, when i found the offending item, it was a 4 inch nail  Oh and found out the price of a puncture repair has gone up to £26 (fepping hek, what ever happened to a beer token puncture repair?)
  12. Nothing yet, ill have a ask, but doubt even john fuggles knows just yet, and thats if it doesn't interfere with Trax like this year eventually ended up doing, hence the reason for the date change in the first place.
  13. Im running GT525's, which is basically stock turbo shell, ground out to accept a larger impeller, spool up is pretty damn quick, with also better BHP to go with it (check Z1 motor sports website)
  14. I have been pleasantly supprised over the years of just how versatile the 2+2 is as a family car lol

  18. if i can get a replacement for my front wings, you can have my old ones
  19. thanks matey, the best thing is, each seat is a mold of the OEM seat now, so it sits in very snugly, means they are pretty much unique to my car now lol
  20. update on project car seat, having taken two molds of my rear seats and attached the fiber glass mold to the bottom of the car seat, here is the end result the seats now sit perfectly in the rear seats, with no movement, bloody awesome parenting :D
