  2. there's actually 42ish ton of water in that, its been posted somewhere else, just cant remember the link
  3. So going on your analogy, if i gave you the mileage of my "other car" you would know what engine i have? I run vista on my laptop, xp on the desktop, and i do indeed still have a system running windows 98se for all the old dos games. My Vista is running 109 processes. Xp was cleaned up about 2 months ago, due to running with over 150 processes after start up and some of these i didnt need, and my windows 98se under full load can run over 135 processes. If you have a lot of unwanted or stupid programs starting up this number could be anything. A slow running computer with only 64 processes on it, sounds to me like its hardware restricting it, and not the OS. 256 Meg of SDRAM a 166mhz Pentium is enough to run 135 processes on windows 98se with out slow down. Would also depends what he means by slow. slow in computers is a bit random, it could mean its slow on start up, slow doing things, slow at multitasking, Slow at playing games shall i go on? Im not fishing for an argument, i just find it funny how if your trying to help someone with a computer issue, yet failed to ask the most important questions. He could need to just do a simple thing like delete a few unneeded programs, or upgrade ram, until he posts back with answers to the questions i asked, everyone is still on a guessing game.
  4. Funny that, because thats what i do for a job, but if you dont ask, how are you going to help with limited information? No point someone going "my PC is slow", and you say "download Ccleaner", when they could be running windows 98se, with 128meg of sdram, with a 5gig hard drive thats crammed full of programs to make it run fast, and they're adding another one to the mix, is there, only real solution for something like that is to upgrade to a faster computer. If you dont ask the simplest of questions how are you supposed to help the poor guy out based on incomplete facts?
  5. From what i know, S1 PTU, silver in color with metal fins on it. S2 PTU black in color no metal fins on it. but dont quote me on that, i might be slightly wrong.
  6. i see everyone has failed to ask the most fundamental of computer tech help questions. Processor? Ram? Hard drive space? Operating system? Depending on these factors depends how to help speed it up, usually a good start is cleaning out all the crap, stick it on a disk defrag over night, that should speed it up slightly, then the only other option to be looking at, is upgrading. depending on what system you have. Also, would depend on what you have starting up, this is also a contributing factor to PC speed problems, and (most people dont know this) but the amount of icons on your desktop also plays an important part in the system speed. So first things first. What processor do you have, and whats its rated speed? What RAM do you have? is it SDRAM / DDR / DDR2 How much ram do you have? Whats its rated speed? ( if you know how to tell this) How much crap is on your hard drive? How much free space is left? And last but not least, what Operating system have you got + service packs if any? A computer is only as fast as its slowest component. so might be time for an upgrade.
  7. leave the stickers, give me the wheels for my stock ones, replace the front bumper with the stock one as well, and it would defo be a very sexy looking car.... :D
  8. personally i wouldn't bother with the compressed air trick, as if there is a blockage and it is a 2 piece pipe, you might blow the two of them apart at the connector, there by making sure you definitely need to start dismantling stuff, jefftt posted something about this not to long ago. but he was on about the front tubing not the rear. Last thing you want to be doing is making sure its going to leak inside your car. may as well just start stripping it back and checking first. then if there is a blockage, either replace the pipe work, or clear the blockage. least this will give you a indication of how it all works. with out blowing any joining pipes apart.
  9. *cough* welsh *cough* ;) :D
  10. tbh if you want reliability, get a Robbin reliant, its in the name, i mean when was the last time you seen one of them sitting on the side of the road with the bonnet open and hazards flashing away? :D
  11. Wow thats a fantastic offer. very much appreciated. just one problem? how do i get me details to you? lol no pm ability as your registered.
  12. meet you at the bottom of the road, i think i know a few, we will grab a load and then make the under trays and sell um ;) Best do it before Car.mad reads this :D
  13. it works, whats the problem? lol
  14. Right quick update. Got to the hospital this morning at 8am, they took us in and scanned the misses, then jabbed her in the arm with some drug to relax her tummy muscles. 15 mins later a nurse came in, and turned the baby around, strangest thing I've seen in a long time that was lol. Did another scan to make sure everything is ok, but a foot is now down with the baby's head, so have now been booked back in for next Tuesday to see if his foot has moved, if it has then its just a case of waiting for her to go into labor as shes now 38 weeks. C-section time. so at the moment im the house wife as shes in a lot of discomfort from the injection she had and now its a waiting game... :)
  15. its the same on all cars :)
  16. i think the best looking skyline is the r34, i love the aggressive look of the front end, but then i love the low and wide look of the z32, i wouldn't care what one i own out of the two. but i have to say the z32 just nudges it for me, not because i own one, just because all round its the style i prefer.
  17. aaahhhha, should of looked at your sig :D, well in that case then, looks like my dodgy wiring job is making the head lights work properly lol. so looks like i have a faulty live feed to the drivers side head light. Thanks matey, now just gotta track down the fault. but least i have a temporary fix for now.
  18. if your after a BM why jump on the M3 band wagon, yeah OK they are quick, but jesus, everyone and there uncle seems to want to have a M3, or do their BM up to look like a M3, go for a BM with some attitude and something a bit more stylish and unique click this for the best looking BMW on the planet
  19. hope you explained to his boss about the testing it as a completely different car. might make him think about doing his job properly next time. Grats on the pass matey :D
  20. Have a look at the following work of art, now if your head lights are working properly, do they look like the top or bottom configuration? Also, with the help of some more works of MS paint art. If i wire my head lights up like this i get the result of the top configuration. My high beam works fine and both headlights light up. Someone mentioned it was a earth problem, well thought id try some experimenting today with some cabling, this is what i did. first the problem when i use the original live on the drivers side to the bulb plus the original earth on the drivers side, i get a very dim main beam bulb with both high beam lights lit dimly. However. if i run a wire from the live on the passenger side (working headlight) to the bulb its self on the drivers side (dimly lit headlight), then earth it to its original connector on the drivers side. i get a fully lit main beam on both, yet no dimly lit high beam lights. (i do get high beam on both, when i use the indicator stork) if i use the original live to the drivers side bulb, and earth it on the passenger side, i get the same as above. This leads me to believe that the live to my drivers side is some what buggered somewhere. So the question again, in the first work of art, what is the correct lighting once you have turned your head lights on fully for normal night driving conditions?
  21. gotta love the climate change argument. We are still in a ICE AGE, its been proven, all you have to do is look at the polar caps, they still have ice. even top scientists agree that the earth has lost all its ice at the caps about 15 times since the dinosaurs roamed the earth, in fact its also been proven that the earth is around 15degrees colder than it was around the time of the dinos. only thing is, they tend not to disclose this information due to it having the opposite effect The other thing i loved about all this climate change shenanigans, was people trying to put up a wind generator in there back garden, you do know you need planning permission for one yeah? that made me laugh my fkin ass off when me and the misses wanted one, they asked us to take it down due to not having planning permission....for a 2 inch pole with a damn wind mill on the top? Then you get the price of a LPG conversion £1000+? hardly accessible for the masses (yes i know they pay for them selves in the long run, but sill) also the one i love the most. "This is the warmest winter on record" if you move the months back by about 2, winter will have snow, spring will have flowers getting ready to bloom, summer will be hot... you get the idea.
  22. Have you got a N/A or a TT as they are different.
  23. no, its because if we crash our car, we only have our selves to blame, where as if you woman crash our cars, well, all hells going to break loose lol
  24. i dont mind, just glad its a baby distracting me from the car and not something else. :D
  25. Sorry JeffTT you asked me to ring you today for a wheel nut, but i was busy walking 15 miles around the longest hospital in the world.....
