  1. nope, id class it as a VG30DE for the N/A and a VG30DETT for the TT
  2. id have to agree on the glow plugs, had a 1.8td mondeo and glow plugs went on that, Try this, turn key till glow plug light comes on on dash, wait till it goes out, carry on waiting until you hear a click, then turn the key, if it starts then its glow plugs, the click is the relay turning off for them, they will be at full temp and should start the car, it its still struggling, get new glow plugs. If me car was working id pop over and check them for you as i have a very handy glow plug removal tool that would help you lots, as on the ford mondeo they are a PITA to get at.
  3. i wasn't questioning the chaps honesty, I've seen plenty of 300zx engines on ebay, i was wondering how you can class the engine as a TT with out the turbo's, didnt know the engine was that different. but that's now been answered.
  4. LOL didnt even realise till you just pointed it out, does look good though, and yes thought i had smashed the targa the first time it did it. then when that was ok, had to check the rear window, lol
  5. the Zed looks so cool there. anyone else hate the noise of creaky frozen targa's?
  6. im on my first one, waited ages to get one, found a project one, but to be honest, id say getting a decent one to start with would be a better idea, project ones are good, if you can put the time and effort into them, but then its always going to stress you at some point. luckily im sticking with it. though i have come close to saying bugger it and getting a decent one. Only reason its tested me so far, is every time i get that one step closer to the MOT, its thrown something else up. after the brake pad renewal, i only had a wheel stud and nut Plus a steering rack gaiter to sort out, then a brake pipe snapped moving the caliper out of the way to replace a wheel stud, then once i had repaired that, i had a nightmare with bleeding the brakes. Now that's done, i found a spot of welding that needed doing at the same time my high pressure pipe for the power steering developed a leak. Saturday the welding is getting done (one 2" gash from a speed hump, the other a hole about the size of a 2p piece) then all ill need for the MOT is the power steering pipe replaced and new power steering fluid. then MOT and see what else needs doing. then its cosmetic replacements, rust removal, new full body spray, targa leak to sort out. and a few other bits and bobs to get her looking how she should and jobs a good un so to speak. that's if its going to play ball and actually let me do it with out kicking up a stink and throwing something else into the mix.
  7. im with bigmincey on this one wooohoooo rest of you are big wussies, why is it us Brits get one tiny bit of snow and the whole country grinds to a halt, so much for global warming eh. lol
  8. interesting question, i too wondered about this, also what costs are involved?
  9. what tyres do you have on, are they directionals, and if so, are they on correctly? sounds like you might have the tyres on the wrong way around, directionals are meant to go on one way, check the out side of the tyre for an arrow saying "rotation" if so, make sure the arrow is pointing to the front of the car when at the top of the tyre. I'm not sure how well you know about tyres, but i did see a SAAB the other day with directionals on and they were on back wards. if they are on wrong they do not displace the water correctly and thus aqua plain quite easily.
  10. if you game online (more specifically eve online, RF online) PLOX = please but with a funny overtone. just noticed the miss placed ,
  11. more like in hospital having that liver transplant about now.
  12. dear Santa, id like for Christmas a MOT'ed car, ooh throw in some indiglo dials while you're at it too plox, thankies and almost forgot, MEERRRYYYYY CHRISTMASSSSSSS TO ALLL OF YOU!
  13. :blink::rofl::rofl:
  14. that is the best toboggan I've ever seen, bet that flies down the hills in the snow. might have to remove the glass though
  15. hmm, interesting, so if you did a N/A to TT conversion would that mean you would have to change the internals as well?
  16. Surly this is false advertising? i mean with out the turbos, its just a bog standard N/A engine.... Yes i know, some will say, but its out of a TT, but he clearly states its a TWIN TURBO ENGINE, then goes on to say TURBOS NOT INCLUDED, note the TT ENGINE part and not ITS FROM... attached to the front of that. And yes I'm being picky lol, im upset im not going to be able to make it to the Christmas meet due to my car still needing some work for the MOT. :crying:
  17. I know that seller, and hes a forum member, dealt with him before and hes a very nice chappy indeed. would happily deal with him again.
  18. i find a pot of salt behind the seat works quite well if its not being driven for a while, just remember to take it out, also check it twice a week if you suffer with it a lot as the salt attracts the water. Might not work all the time its not a proven science, but did work with my Golf GTI when i had the same problem.
  19. One of the things that really irritates me with Ebay, is the use of CAPITAL LETTERS FOR THE WHOLE DISRCIPTION as if you need help reading it, the use of WOW or W@W or L@@K in the title, like its supposed to be some headline grabbing attention thingy that magically makes you think, "Best look might not be another one on here" even though you just trawled through 155 pages of the same thing to find it and most of all the very obvious spelling mistakes / txt tlk adverts with lazy typing "i rly liek dis, its wkd enit" I dont mind the bad grammar though, as that can get rather confusing, but whats the deal with not proof reading it before you press the submit button? is Ebay charging per letter now or what? Anyway rant over. Im wondering what the peacock feathers are doing in the boot? Only thing i like on that car is the paint job, its different.
  20. dito, biting point near floor level, bleed and adjusted, maybe its working as intended lol
  21. phoned RGS motor sport today, took the car down for a quote on the welding, found out they have a flat ramp + can cater for very low cars. was comforting to know they had a 300zx in the car park when i arrived.. any one know it? i recognise the number plate HIIA YA or very similar to that (defo had the H the two II's and the YA at the end). not sure if I've seen it on here or on ebay. twin turbo needing an engine change and two new turbos, nice alloys looked dark blue. have to say, these cars look a lot better lowered.
  22. I wouldn't call it pride and joy at the moment matey, more like love hate relationship, i love it, it hates me
  23. i have to admit, i really dont like the veilside look tbh not sure about his description either, seen cleaner on here
  24. i know these cars are few and far between, but rare? (scroll down to the start of the description)
