  1. didnt think he did, but wasnt too sure.
  2. This is true. anyone know what the deal is on getting a car through MOT with a smoky turbo? can the waist gate be closed and stop it smoking, just so i can get Tax on the car?
  3. Jimmer has a sexy zed too. Jeff im not too sure about as he has that many Zeds there, its hard to even tell if he owns one. And dont ask me about D2's Zed as ive never been there, but heard very good things about the place.
  4. I might have to give him a ring, find out how he does the drivers side, typical that's the one I'm going to need to get at lol.
  5. I heard on here that you can remove at least one of the tubs with out removing the engine from the car? anyone know what side this is? And do you have to remove the whole engine or just raise it enough to get at the tubs?
  6. Ring Zedworld for a quote on engine rebuilds if he does them (not sure he does check his website first, or though he might know someone who does)
  7. Right lets not start ghost stories, the VG engine is actually very reliable, its a everyday sports car. if you want it for track use then you upgrade the internals to higher rate ones. id like to see most cars engines after being thrashed around a lot like most of the 300zx N/A's have been. Reason these tend to fail is due to the price to acquire a N/A vs its Speed and ease of insurance on them now. most people will get the car and rag the ass off it due to it being classed as a sports car / cheap to buy and it looks the part. and the mentality of most people to show off around town to that little guy in his done up fiesta who thinks hes a badboy. (i most likely will fall into the latter category lol) thus when you get your car your never too sure what its past has been really like unless it comes preloaded with the engine upgrades and is spanking like it just rolled out of J1mmys home garage. Don't be put off by a N/A a good engine rebuild and careful driving with out red lining it in every gear, will see you though to around to the next service easy. :D
  8. These two things here would make my alarm bells ring. yes its not the best of jobs and there really is a lot involved in getting to the head gasket on these cars (well more time consuming and fiddly). Problem with when someone does it and they "aren't really keen" is that the quality of work might suffer with out them doing it on purpose as there heart isn't really in it to begin with.
  9. Are the internals also slightly weaker on the N/A? well thats what i was basically told when i inquired about slapping some tubs on a N/A engine.
  10. bottom end shills, bearings on the way out, carry on reving it like that and you could end up with a nice hole in the oil sump, like when i put two conrods (thought it was one but after taking the sump off it was two lol) through it. You might get away with a engine rebuild at the moment. id assess the costs of a TT conversion / engine rebuild. and if your wondering what damage can be done when it finally goes...... (this is with the oil filter braket removed) Two very nice holes, one a puncture the other a blow out. My other photos that im yet to upload show how its cracked the block in two places. and completely shattered the lower crank housing.
  11. i agree tbh, two months in between other jobs? I've seen way to many horror stories recently, just take it to Zed world or D2 if that's closer.
  12. Wouldn't suprise me if half the people who don't get in contact after the bid is won, are paypal / eBay workers, getting payed to make even more money for them due to the relist fees and other charges they just took £9.95 off for a sale that didn't even go through ebay
  13. When I snapped a breakline and had to change the fluid, it took 2 .5 liter bottles of break fluid to bleed them from what i can remember, misses sat in the car pumping the peddle, while i used some fish bubbler tubing from pets at home on the nipples and bleed them into a container, starting at the abs unit under the plastic covering in the boot (drivers side) with the two nipples on, then did the fronts and then the backs (drivers first then passenger) then for good messure the abs unit again, that was the easiest way I found to bleed them (thanks jeff at zed world for the info) Mine kind of started to empty in slow drips till I got back from the local garage, who fabricated me some new pipe. in that time it must of emptyed about 200ml and it was a nightmare trying to get the air out of the system. my advice would be to just flush it through with some new rather then emptying the system. and use some clear tubing on the bleed nipples so you can see if there are still tiny air bubbles in the fluid
  14. Lol agreed. Then zedworld then facebook to make all your mates jelouse (or something like that) Then JAE :D
  15. yep they still make plasmas, id still take a plasma over a LCD once you go above 32" any day of the week. Try Panasonic they make some decent plasma or JVC
  16. Red button, targa = ejector seat :whistling:
  17. i cant work out if i like the look or not.
  18. I like these, just not on the 300zx, they are too small for the back end of a Zed and dont go well with the car at all. the best Round tail lights Ive seen, were the R32 modified ones that Baz posted. now they fit nicely due to the size of them.
  19. The fiero is used as a bases, due to the chassis having the engine in the rear. and its about the same length as a murcielago, so hardly any alteration to the frame needs to be made. I know this due to looking into getting a murcielago kit at one stage. and the car that fitted it was indeed the fiero. I love the video of the lambo kit, was hard to tell until they showed the headlights and the side indicator. The other car that is used a lot is the pug 406 coupe, as there is a Ferrari 360 kit for it. looks good until you realise the boot is indeed a boot, and the bonnet houses the V6 engine.
  20. Do you know what they used to fit the exhaust or did you fit them your self? If they were fitted by a garage, did they use exhaust putty or the new craze of using mastik? Could be something burning off from the fitting, but main question that no one has asked. What does it smell like?
  21. I'd say the bay is your best bet, I know the rings are there as I was looking for some for my dials as it gives the clocks a more modern look, I would be interested in seeing the black indiglow's as well as iv only ever seen the whites which I think look very nice anyway.
  22. My thoughts as well there, fire department doing the right thing, shame the police didn't, just wondering if it would of been half as busy had there been no fire?
  23. Manual box weights around 75kg as I did my engine change on my own and had to move the gear box. N/A engine is around 250 to 265kg you can lift it but I'd advise 4 people rather than two or your going to struggle , it's not so much the weight it's where to grab hold of it that's the problem. Oh and I can confirm that the N/A can fit in the back of a vectra (mk1) lol
  24. Anyone got consults around northamptonshire area? so i can find out if its the O2 sensors or not? I know you can do it via the ECU, but i think it would be a lot easier to do it with consults and see if anything else is wrong with it.
  25. It was small journys it went on, the car is currntkg off he road at the moment due to some welding work needing doing (thanks to leaky targas) and some new tyres needed, but would like to narrow down this rich running as I'm goin to be putting the car in for the welding work at the MOT station so it can go strate for the test, that way if it fails on the welding work I'll be having words lol so the smoking is normal for this time of year for the engine size that's good to know it does clear up alot once the engine comes up to temp and it doesn't suffer with over heating problems
