My new motor
Small power steering leak somewhere, so need to chase that up, but have all the parts to sort that out on my black one, and also a starter motor hicup, sometimes when you turn the key to the start position, you hear the starter motor but the engine doesn't turn, sounds like if you try starting the car with the car already running, got a feeling its a seating issue. other than that. all is good. even sorted out the alarm by accident lol

Under-Bonnet Rust
Remove rust by cutting it out, patch weld, sand, filler if needed (but make sure you only use it to smooth things over. don't compromise on structural integrity with just filler, primer, paint.

Thank you graham, means a lot to me to be honest. after having 2 i needed to do serious work on (1 engine change, other turbo change) i have to say im very honored to own this one, and it came from a great guy. im going to look after her well. I'm going to go for a subtle look. nothing over the top. its so nice to know i can just jump in and drive. As much as people have said "for the amount you spent on those two zeds you could of bought a working one by now", at least i have experience with working on them. and fixing things, rather than having a working one and braking things lol I'm loving how well the new wing turned out with the spraying. i did kind of cake the lacquer on as well lol

My new motor
You know what, that 5Zigen is really growing on me lol, and as i don't have to look at it unless I'm standing behind the car, I'm still in two minds as to fit the mongoose or leave it on.

Anyone know how to remove...
er *****cks lol nope too busy doing work on the new one mate, the black one now looks like a Zed parts shop on wheels

My new motor
I totally agree, i am yet to come across a After market spoiler i like that i think suits the shape of the Zed. Don't get me wrong, i like some spoilers, even when they are on the Zed, but i wouldn't put it on mine as i don't think they fit the flowing lines. EDIT, Why does it always seem that you cant hold a camera steady when taking a photo of the LED dash mod lol

no perspex strip is going on matey, I'm putting a Car.mad 89spec on it. love that spoiler and suits the car so well.

My new motor
Are you on about for the boot lid? if so it goes into a garage at night. id left it out side tonight so i could fit the lights back on. Aaah your on about the 300zx center on the rear between the lights. sorry head not with it I'm a bit tired. the rear lights where just a mod kit. wish it included the EL 300zx logo but i like it when it doesn't light up. makes people go "what is that?"

My new motor
Next on the list is, Fit my 99spec front bumper. Fit my 89spec rear spoiler. Refurb the alloys. with the color of car. I'm thinking white Powder coated center spokes, with chrome rim. Plenum change for the nice shiny one that's sitting in my black Zed.

lol looks like us mods are all out buying new Zeds, (come on StellaZ hurry up) So this is Rev1's old car and I'm sure this is going to bring a tear to his eye, (really sorry about that, but she is in good hands matey) After a very exhilarating drive home yesterday, i spent most of the night (12am to 3am) fitting my LED conversion that Groover had done for me (bloody top work that man) and fixing a stereo that was refusing to eject one of Rev1's disks. and then went sleep after i got home from work today, i instantly ran out to her and started work, parking both Zeds up next to each other i set about removing the back panels to switch my UK rear seat belts over to the New jap spec one sitting there wanting me to take her for a spin, but first things first in a labor of love, tweaking what is already a fantastic car. Next thing to tackle was the wing. badly crumpled, there was just no hope for pulling hammering and bending, but armed with a spare (thanks Rev1) i sprayed it up ready, and set to work taking the old wing off and replacing it with the new one. Once that was done i started on the 99spec rear light mod. having fought a hard battle with that horrible sticky black glue Nissan use. i finally got around to making Brake light chow main in the oven, after wrestling with the casing i finally made them split apart to get to work. Anyway, I've just got back from putting them on the car, so here is the grand unveiling. Before wing After The Power house 99spec conversion complete and on the car. Looking very nice

Anyone know how to remove...
I'm covered there, i have a 2 year old and if that doesn't work, i have a 9 month old who i can probably fit up there on his own to get them out. nothing like child labour to help fix your zed lol Thanks ViJay will tackle that tomorrow then.

Anyone know how to remove...
The Metal strip that separates the targas. cant seem to figure out how to get a tool in to the torx screws that run down it.

i know convertables are rare but..............
I hope it makes the tea, does the ironing, walks the dog, guards the house, and protects the world for that money. Although. its nice to see the prices of zeds finally go back up. think my knackered one is worth around 25k now....

swb =lwb
Its only pointless if you think your going to get people in the back. Kids in booster seats yes, it can be done. Adults, still can be done but best make sure they are not taller than 5'4" or have very long legs. The other good thing about having the 2+2 is if you have no kids, and no friends, you can always rip out the rear seats and you now have added room for more speakers to make you go deaf quicker. or you could turn it into a small champagne bar (I'm not condoning drinking and driving) or better yet a place to put your DJing equipment.:walkman: Failing that, it will make a decent getaway car  and the added room of removing the rear seats means you can now transport cadavers to the nearest river along with some carpet and bricks. :gunsmilie: But the best thing about the 2+2 is the fact you don't have a fuel tank more or less strapped to your back:nuke:. its safely tucked away under the car.:cool3: :blush:

twin or single
Well now i have one TT with twin, and one with single, id have to say I'm actually torn between them, i love the look twin give. but I'm now loving the sound of the single. I think the thing to remember is, with twin exits if you put a decat on you lose some of the back pressure needed to help the turbo seal do its job. with a single exit id guess you get the extra back pressure needed. OK this is not relevant if you have a N/A but worth a thought.

Engine tech mystery
Lucky no damage was done with the current going to the Coil pack, after all it is a spark plug on the end of it. though i suppose the current is uprated at the coil pack.

Engine tech mystery
God no lol Only joking, go on then

Engine tech mystery
right connectors on the engine side of the balance bar are, fuel rail sensor, 6 PTU's 6Injector plugs. and when it crosses under the balance bar you have the Idle adjustment, det sensor, O2 sensor, and that other one under the idle adjustment. the Det sensor wire wasn't plugged into the O2 socket, and the O2 sensor plugged into the det sensor socket?

A505/A10 Dark red zed
He will be posting up what he has left to sell. ive got the wing for the drivers side, so will be sorting that out sometime this week. i also have the shiny plenum to fit at some point but want to get some polished throttle bodies first to match before i do that. He still has a monza spoiler, rear lip, 2 targas, boot lid, bonnet and a few other bits and pieces to sell.

Engine tech mystery
Its got to be a short somewhere, wasn't a wire trapped between the plenum and rocker cover or something similar?

Engine tech mystery
lol Jeff, that's it throw a curve ball in there. Only thing that would change when unplugged would be voltage id imagine (correct me if im well off) hence the engine cutting out. but with it unplugged then started again, the voltage wouldn't change as its already unplugged. blown fuse?
