Well had the car a week now and so far done a lot of stuff too her. Had the car on the ramps earlier and as much as i loved the sound of the single exit, my mind was made up that it needed to change. not because i think duel look better (which they do) but because it had a blooming hole in it. Well So far since owning her this is whats been changed. - UK rear seat belts now installed from my black one. - LED side pods installed. - Passenger side window switch changed over as the one it originally had in was lifting - Rear 99spec mod done (although now needs redoing as the damn pin stripe is lifting just like i said it would lol) - Passenger side wing sprayed and changed. - Windscreen wipers changed over for the ones off my black zed - Windscreen weather strips changed over - Duel exit mongoose system fitted to powerflow decat pipes. - tried to clean the wheels lol Today i also found the power steering fluid pipe that was leaking, and I'm pleased to say its the same one that runs under the cars front sub frame as what my N/A leak was coming from, so at least i know its a easy change, even if its a bit fiddly. Anyway here's some pictures of her. going to get a better picture of the dash all lit up tonight. holes in the single exit :(

Yep, the switch gave it away, pulled that out and it had a "acc" lead coming off it, so presumed it went to the side pod, turned that on, and on popped the rear fog.

Sorted mine out yesterday, changed the bulb, didn't work still, pulled out the switch in the dash, still didn't work, turned the fog button on with the rear fog switch, it lit up like a Christmas tree. so will have to explain that to the MOT guys when i take it lol

Parts are cheap as chips for discos matey, plus he has access to his own welder at his club meets (lucky git) lol

just for you baz, this is my mate shauny from the northants 4x4 club, i wouldnt try this in yours with that nice interior.

agree with jimmer, bearings usually go before anything making an oval, so the rod hammers the crank on the up and down stroke. i knew there was something else i needed to add lol

I agree, mark does indeed have moobs, :tt2: You will most likely be better off with the bonnet open, and have a smell when the engine just starts up from cold, i pin pointed Artztogos this way, and a new pipe and a few clips later problem was solved. What you have to be careful off is if you go and tighten the clip too much on a rubber tube you will end up cutting into it causing the leak to be worse. this was the cause of Artztogos fuel leak in the first place. a over tightened clip had severed the pipe.

All exterior panels aluminum chassis would have to be carbon fiber brembos as standard all around. more modern engine materials to bring the ware down and the weight. remove all unnecessary extra weight (have you felt the weight of the center console surround?) redesigned 89 spec spoiler as i don't like the 99spec. using better materials for a lighter weight. one piece prop already ABS traction control Double din head unit with sat nav built in zoned air conditioning Heated seats as standard make the 2+2 slightly longer by about 3inches, to give a bit more room in the rear for legs. leather on all interior panels with stitching showing (love that look) stronger center arm rest lit. and a choice of light or dark dash trim. (everyone retrims the same part, id like to do the upper part that doesn't get retrimmed.) Duel electric seats as standard I keep the look the same as its perfect.

i lifted a N/A engine with a 500KG hoist, using a 2ton tow rope, i wouldn't advise anyone else doing it this way, it did work for me lol

Haven't got the foggiest lol i bought it with a top end tap, and it was just that, sounded like noisy tappets, that must have developed into a bottom end knock when i was driving around Scotland. next thing you know, crunch and bang, and ala end result, 2 broken con rods lol

Might have already been fixed with radweld (nasty stuff) or could be a lose pipe giving off the wiff, but usually the smell is because of leaking rad fluid, take your rad cap off and i bet it smells the same, and looks like rusty water.

Curry smell is heater matrix, it smells like that if its going to fail / has failed.

You could, but then the more you up the boost, the more stress as you say, the internals will be under, look at it this way, you have already blown one engine, the pictures of mine were from a N/A with no upgrades, so apart from the odd foot down here or there, not really under any more stress than what it was designed for, yet it still failed. so id definitely uprate the rods if anything. If uprating the rods is going to make my engine last longer then its sure worth it. Just remember though, Marks rod failed on track use.
