  1. Let them know then, say you don't have a daily driver as a second car, but you only drive it at weekends, not sure how they would take that as they would only have your word to go by.
  2. Dont tell me, the injector was firing when the valve was closed?
  3. save up and put some aside, you will have a better chance at a mortgage if you have a high amount of savings and can put your own deposit down on a house.
  4. if you have just turned 25 and you have another car available to drive to and from work, your best bet would be classic car insurance as long as the vehicle is 15 years old or older. And for that id say give Lynbrook or Carol Nash a ring
  5. I wouldn't call it advice and i wouldn't say its the best solution, it worked for me as i dont like it when a big company thinks they can hold the little man by the short and curlys. as long as they know, instead of just doing it and not contacting them, they really cant say much as you have had the decency to be honest with them, even if they haven't been with you.
  6. I had insurance with Kwikfit before, now I'm not saying you should do this, but when i got screwed around by them, i paid the last months insurance (as they wanted the same thing, that's why i asked who it was with, they wanted the rest of the insurance as a cancellation fee) then cancelled my direct debit with them at the bank. i then rang Kwikfit and told them, as i was paying monthly there was no way i "owed" them the rest of the insurance. or they will be covering me for the rest of the agreement at the stated original policy price, if i hand the rest over. Had i missed a payment they would of first sent a letter stating that, and then had it failed the next DD payment the policy gets cancelled anyway, its a safeguard. i had one letter after that asking for the rest of the policy money, i then rang them again and explained that as i was no longer covered by there policy i owe them nothing. i haven't heard anything since (and this was beginning of last year). This is not the usual route i would take. so i wouldn't do this with all companies. as far as i was concerned, them asking for the rest of the cash for a service they were no longer going to supply is what id call very unreasonable. AA only charge a £12 cancellation fee. Big companys like that try and bully you. for me this approch with kwikfit worked. But you also have to make sure you make them fully aware of your intentions as you find there fee unreasonable. this way you cover your self, as you have at least tried to reason with them.
  7. check your small print for cancellation fees. sounds like they are trying to bully you into getting the details changed over and a higher rate. who is it with by the way?
  8. Conzults cable plugged in wrong? lol
  9. check all vacuum hoses, sounds like one might of popped off.
  10. Have a word with the insurance company again and quote what you have already been quoted and state they either match it, or stay with the same policy. or you will change company.

  19. I had to do this with my black TT here is how - Disconnect the pipe going to the windscreen washer jets and hang it over the side of the car.. fill the bottle up, and press the button, there will be a build up of crap in the bottom of your washer bottle that needs clearing out (looks like pond mud) empty it completely and then fill and do it again, the idea is to clear the crap out first that's causing the blockage. Just remember to leave it a while in between filling it up and squirting it out, you need the crap to settle to the bottom of the bottle, only when it runs clean with no sludge do you continue to the next stage. Remove the pipe work going to the jets, and blow through it, there will no doubt be a blockage here at some point, if there is none. move to the next stage, cleaning the jets. Take a pair of pliers and and gently squeeze the jets base inside the bonnet and pull the jets out (be careful so you don't snap the jets) Now take them to the kitchen sink. get a metal paper clip with no plastic on it. get a mouth full of water, put the paper clip into the washer nozzle its self, now with a mouth full of water put the nozzle end in your mouth, they have a little pin inside that helps stop water going back into the tubing, using the paper clip put that in the end the pipe goes on, push and then blow the water through. repeat this until the blockage is cleared. do this for both, once done, put the washer jet nozzles back into the bonnet, reconnect the pipe work, fill the bottle with screen wash and water, and sit back and enjoy as you can now clear your windscreen.
  20. Hasn't silver bullet got a N/A rear diff on his? first time I've heard that the N/A wont be able to handle the power?
  21. When the light comes on, there is 10liters left in the tank, 72 liter tank.
  22. ok if you must know, it took me all of 5mins lol Anyway had the fun of taking the power steering pipe i needed from my breaker today, was hoping to get it on the new one so i don't have a power steering leak. what a bloody ball ache. it is the same pipe i changed on my N/A, only difference this time is, you have all the turbo pipe work to contend with. :( and the hassle of having to try and feed it through blind to under the car to get the thing free. Got all the fun or removing the other one tomorrow to fit it.
  23. Around town I'm looking at around 14 to 16mpg, motor way, not sure yet as i was just too happy driving it to give a crap :D
  24. Storing your car is not the problem, is the preparation that goes into storing it thats the key. just leaving it with the hand brake on, fuel half full, old oil and the battery connected sitting in the same spot for a long time on the tyres is going to help things go wrong. Good preparation is key to preventing things going wrong. clint put a post up a week ago asking how to go about storing her car for a long period of time, so might be worth having a read over that. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1428006#post1428006 As your car has been sat doing nothing, first thing i would do is give it a oil and filter change. get some new petrol from the pumps (in a jerry can) and fill her up. charge the batter and get the tyres checked for flat spots. id also test the breaks make sure the hand brake if left on, hasnt binded to the rears.
