  1. Sweet best reply, I've noticed that the clear coat for the Cherry red pearl has very small what looks like glitter, that you don't get with halfords lacquer, its this i need to try and match to give it that pearl look
  2. would take 1 second to measure it, I'm sure we can come up with a more permanent fix :D
  3. Its not a club its a family, welcome to the family (said in a al capone type voice)
  4. Trust you to have a problem with your shaft ;) Wooo, get the new date i might be able to make that one.
  5. After extensive research, i have found out that its not lacquer peel happening on my car, it is in fact clear coat that is coming away, the underlying paint is in rather good condition, so i was just wondering if anyone knows where to get the clear coat paint from? as it would be much easier to sort out if it is. Plus i can do a write up of the process. as its only a small area that needs to be sorted out. 1200grit around the edges that are starting to lift away from the paint surface. then the clear coat should be able to get a good blend while using the under laying color to keep everything matching.
  6. A lot cheaper than the vert that's going 100k though.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEXY-RARE-UNIQUE-Nissan-300ZX-SWB-TRUE-Convertible-/270644363707?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3f03a941bb its a bargain
  7. well finished mine last night and put them in, well impressed this morning, but again i second that on the tape stripes, i have a feeling ill be taking them apart, but what I'm going to do is get some model paint in black mask off leaving a gap where the line should be and then paint it on thick, giving ample time for the paint to dry between coats at least if you mask it off leaving the gap you can take your time until its how it should be. plus will give it more durability.
  8. Still got the black TT, im breaking it. but waiting on a Engine hoist, so at the moment im stripping the small parts off and putting them aside. then when i get the engine hoist, engine and gear box is coming out, everything else is being stripped off it back to bear shell then its going to the Zed heaven. Once ive done that, going to get everything boxed up an post it noted so i know what is what, get them all weighted up and start putting up a for sale thread.
  9. I already got a set of OEM wheels on the black one but thank you for the offer. Yeah pretty much got around to doing everything in 2 days of ownership. been having a look at wheel refurbishments, and if i can get the heavy duty lacquer, ill go down the do it your self route, ill just mask up everything i don't want to touch first. then get the old buffer out and go around that lip, think it would come up quite good, only thing is, I'm going to lose the manufacturers name on one of the spokes unless i can find some decals somewhere to put on before adding the lacquer. Raising the car at the weekend and having a look to see if i can spot this power steering leak, also going to take the starter motor off and reseat it properly before it damages teeth.
  10. Use photobucket.com sign up, upload to your album save them, then it will show you all your pictures you uploaded with a set of codes under them, right click the code that has in front of it so its highlighted, then select copy, then paste it into the reply thread box on this forum, you can only do 10 pictures per forum post though here, so if you have more than 10 to show us you will need to make another post.
  11. I certainly hope so, cant wait to fit the 99spec and spoiler now. been looking at wheel refurbishment, but no one wants to do 3 piece split rims just in case they fook the join up. so might go down the do it my self route but would like to get it done properly, defo will be getting the spokes white and the rim polished. found some old photos of it when markymark owned it. and the wheels look fantastic when they are good.. Was toying with the idea of doing a Jimmer as i pretty much have all the parts to have a black bonnet black targas and black boot lid, would also sort out this delamination problem that seems to be happening to the rear screen. I read a thread that mark had posted where people described it being old window tint but it definitely doesn't look like its after market.
  12. i would think as it was in storage with insurance on it, it should be covered but id check your policies small print as there might be a clause in there stating other wise.
  13. As above, imports are bronze, UK spec are Blue, only problem is they have to import one from japan for the bronze. Shame really as i have a brand spanker's blue one sitting in my Black car that I'm now going to split. it has seen just 26 miles of the open road too and from a MOT. but if someone wants it. a PM would suffice to work out a deal.
  14. Its got Bridgestone Potenza on the rear. i don't mean it span instantly, but around half way through turbo spool
  15. Richard, what on earth has been done to this Zed? was doing 60 on the M1 this morning on the way to work put my foot down to overtake a lorry and wheel span even in 5th? Its seriously fast, going to have to take it easy i think, felt like the back end was going to step out due to the acceleration, ok didnt help because it was light drizzle but still. Anyway lunch lol
  16. top man, congratz to both you and your son. more awards for the 300zx this year :D

  18. Id make sure i landed in rose shit :D
  19. what secret? ive told you im not gay and if i was, it would have to be Dazvert lol
  20. LOL at you sig Rev, "used to have..." love your sense of humor :D looks like its been crimped.
  21. Ive replaced the over head light unit with the one from my black car, redid the wiring for the alarm that goes to it. and changed the bulb for a LED one. screwed it all back together. and the alarm now works with out setting its self off every few minutes. its been on all night with out a hitch. all i wanted to do was fit the LED bulb but it was easier changing the casing over than just the bulb, as the first time i fitted the LED to my black one i blew the fuse in the foot well, and couldn't be buggered to bend down and change it if i did it again, so just changed the unit its self over with the bulb in. Also managed to sort out why the boost gauge was showing 20 all the time, the green wire goes to the white wire on the vacuum box.
  22. looks a bit short to me, like someone has cut it, and not done a very good job either.
