  1. just went to take the Mrs and little one up to mcdonald, heading up the A45 doing 50, next thing you know revs shot up out of the blue boost hit and in the blink of an eye the rear went, corrected the first part, but then the snap back got me and the back end spun out, after a brief moment of facing on coming traffic, i see the central reservation barrier approaching, so turned the wheel to get the rear to take the hit. by this point car had slowed to around 30mph when the rear passenger side took the hit. Trying to find the camera memory card. but passenger side exhaust is fooked. and the rear passenger side panel has taken damage to the out side panel only. i know it was wet so was taking extra care due to my air filter being out in the mouth of my 99spec bumper. haven't got a clue what i touched on the road but it was like ice. but not cold enough to be ice. Well looks like I'm going to be doing some body repairs now. or do i see what the insurance say about it? going to go find my memory card now and get some pictures. :( so glad that no one was hurt. Mrs is a bit shuck up as the little one was in the back. If the car wasn't lowered, would of only been rear bumper damage. Nice to know that everyone behind me just drove on with out even stopping to see if anyone was OK.
  2. getting everything i need first guys, dont want to pull the plenum then find out i cant put the new one on due to missing something, as im only changing over from my none polished one to a polished one :D but dont worry ill get some good informative pictures. unless daz beats me to it.
  3. most likely the same pipe I've just had to replace has now corroded around the collar that's half way up it. look under the car for any signs of drips, it will be a red colored oil and most likely coming from the foam covering the pipe. Pipe is located under the car on the front sub frame.
  4. I'm actually really tempted by this to be honest lol
  5. I've had a comment removed as i stated the running speeds of 1st and second, now I'm going to reply to this one, I'm not deleting it due to the fact that realistically, you will not be driving through the tunnel blasting it in second. although the running gear is long due to the ratio, the chances of running through a tunnel maxing second gear isn't going to do your engine any good and isnt going to sound particularly nice. as too achieve that speed, you will be more or less red lining it. Just remember you get the better exhaust note in lower revs anyway. i think the idea of this, is a run slow with a few blips here and there, too "hear" the tone of your exhaust. not scream the crap out of your engine in the hopes that higher revs sound good and to blast through the tunnel in record speed.
  6. Paul Simon is quite well known, mainly due to Simon and garfunkel. she might just feel that its nothing like you say so she doesn't mention it.
  7. paul simon, cool, i love his Graceland album, grew up listening to that, i suppose she doesn't like the attention it brings.
  8. Thats a strange sence of humor. Tbh it sounded like you were having ago at how he chooses to live his life. Sorry if i didnt see the funny side. but if i read it like that. im sure he and a few others did too.
  9. that's a little uncalled for, where did he state in his first post that he needed them there and then? you are making the same assumptions as the manager, to be honest if i had gone into a store for contact lenses, and they said they didn't have any in stock, i too would ask them to look out back, i would not expect the reply he got, and if i did i would of told that manager where to shove it. i then would of gone to customer service and and got the shift manager down and explained it to him and shown my disgust for the way i was spoken too, its not there job to state how someone should do things in there life, just like its not your place to say that either. I think you are completely missing the point that its not about the stock issue, its about the attitude of the representative on the counter and his reply. it just so happens that he was patient enough to wait for the delivery and yet STILL they didn't have any in stock. Now would you call that in desperate need? i wouldn't, or he wouldn't of waited for the delivery, he would of gone somewhere else.
  10. Dear sir / madam, I recently visited my local store [insert store name here] on [insert date here] to acquire some contact lenses, I was told you were out of stock of the particular strength contact lenses I was after [insert contact info here]. I then asked politely if the sales rep could check the stock area; just in case some happened to be there. The Clerk asked someone else whom I presume to be part of the management, upon his return he rudely stated that they had none in stock and that I shouldn't of left it so late to visit the store to get some. Now given that I had not disclosed whether or not I had completely ran out of contact lenses or the fact I had not expressed that I needed them urgently, I find this behavior rather appalling and it made me feel rather embarrassed as this was said to me in front of other customers. I understand that Tescos is a super market and not a fully fledged pharmacy, so sometimes stocks dwindle, but having someone who is supposed to represent Tescos basically tell me off like I'm some kind of adolescent child, I find rather offencive and degrading, It also left me feeling rather uncomfortable. I was then advised that stock would take a week to deliver, and to return then. I have been back into the store recently and they are still, yet to have a supply of the aforementioned contact lenses, I use Tescos as its closer than my nearest pharmacy, its more convenient as well as I can do my shopping and get other supplies while I'm there. I now feel as though it would be worth the extra journey to acquire the products I need else where, as I find that my experience has left me feeling very uncomfortable when I approach the pharmaceutical counter for fear that I get the same response. Regards [insert name here] There ya go.
  11. some of our more mad peeps have V8's in their zeds, some have too much bling that NASA had to move the Hubble space telescope just so they could get pictures of the moon as the reflection off of the bling was just too great and giving Hubble some serious glare issues. (I'm looking at you beegeevins lol) have a scout around there are loads of different zeds here.
  12. are you going in mari-annes car? i wouldn't risk driving the zed that distance until you get them nuts sorted out matey.
  13. bloody old fart, ill have to get you that zimmer frame for next year now your pushing it a bit. and when am i getting my vert back i lent you. are you still telling people its yours, as i noticed you have it in your sig? :whistling: LOL happy birthday me old fruit. hope you have a good one. and as i don't drink, have a few for me please :D
  14. what time do you have to go? can you pop to mine first? ill take you to my local who will do the job properly matey so you can get a second garage opinion. and as i know them all personally i know they will do it correctly for you.
  15. Not to mention, stretching the stud, so subsequent wheel tightens, can have little to no gripping effect.
  16. vibration over 50? sounds like unbalanced wheels, did they use the stick on weights? some might of fallen off. get them rebalanced bud.
  17. I too stood there going "uhuh???:huh: and :confused1:" till i went sod it, whats under the roof trim... and then i was like :thumbup1::punk::biggrin: after, once i got the damn thing off lol
  18. well my breaker bar has over 100ton per square mm of pressure being applied when i get my grubby little mitts on it. nothing is refusing the budge.......or snap
  19. remove the roof trim, (goes from front to back of the car and houses the interior light clusters) at the back of the car, under the interior trim, is 4 bolts holding the boot lid in place, remove them, and remove the hydraulic arms, then lift clear with someone helping. put back in reverse order.
  20. i don't actually eat that much tbh matey, i might be a bit round at the edges but its got nothing to do with food i know that. or drink as i dont drink alcohol.
  21. my cat is the same, her name is Elle, will have to grab some photos when shes in, but she will devour just about anything. Sausage rolls, onion ring crisps, chocolate, toast, spiders, flies (when she gets them), cray-flies, sugar puffs, cornflakes, peanuts, red peppers, green peppers.. the list goes on. always amazed at what she wants to eat.
  22. wheel studs are easy to change and don't cost that much from Nissan, I've had to change one and its not that bad a job. so get cracking (no pun intended lol)
  23. this is the problem when people do wheels up with an airgun. i take it that is what happened? instead of someone doing them up to the correct torque with a torque wrench? Best thing id suggest, is get a long bit of steel tubing and put it on the end of your breaker bar. You need more leverage.
  24. dude, seriously, keep it, hardly anything needs doing to it. which isn't what most people can say about there's. If i owned your car, first thing id do is sort out the mechanical side of things. make sure its running sweet, then once that is done start on the cosmetic side of things. about 90% of these cars that haven't had a interior retrim are suffering the drivers side seat bolster ware. get a spoiler put on it, with out one it makes the car look bad as there is nothing to cover that whole where the rear brake light should be. also neatens up the rear no end. as for different color panels, get it a good respray it will breath new life into the old girl. Get all the parts you need, bring her to me and ill fit them for you, if you can get her here, ill put the exhaust on, clutch if you can get that and rear spoiler, might be worth doing what I've done for now, getting the paint code of your car from the VIN plate under the hood and getting a can made up from halfords, (get it made up, don't buy the ones off the shelf, they come with a dot nozzle, and not a fan one, which is what you need for a smooth finish. Ultimately, its down too you matey. but if i had a car like that, that didnt need that much work doing to it, id be fixing whats wrong, and then setting about sorting out the looks. OK, simple question for you, what do you want out of your 300zx? higher BHP? body kit? bog standard? slightly modded? depending on what you want to do with it, would depend on if it would be worth keeping it or getting rid for another one.
  25. Its not just main dealers who do that, when i worked at kwik fit, had some woman in for a brake test, i over heard my work college saying that her rear brake pads were low and that they would need changing and that the pads had scoured the disks and she would need new disks as well. when the guy went to get the prices, i went and had a look, and advised her to take it somewhere else, the pads were fine and no scouring on the disks. I know i was working with the guy, but i have pride in my work, and did not want to be working with a bunch of dodgy gits who were just in it to make the company profit. she took the car somewhere else, they advised her that her pads and disks were fine, and that all she needed was a brake pipe changed that cost her just £10 instead of the £159 per wheel for brake and pads that kwik fit were looking to charge for something she didn't even need and ignored the rear problem associated with her brakes. She bought me in a bottle of wine to say thanks. shame i don't drink lol Needless to say, i moved on to a better place of work.
