I'm the same as you at the moment, but also own a citroen ZX, so i cant even call it the zx  Most of the time though, its she or her When i got my first zed the last owner called her Christine. then on the way home she blew 2 conrods. not the best choice of name i have to admit.

Auto Transmisson fault..can anyone help??!!
Hi matey welcome to the forum ,from what i know, if you can only select certain gears and it wont go into any others, its new box time, but don't quote me on that. does the gear box make any strange noises? the belt squeal could possibly be a lose aux belt, usually the one that goes to the alternator and power steering pump, which is easy to tighten. but you may as well replace the belts, do you know when they were changed last? Give JeffTT a ring at Zedworld mate in tamsworth 01827 311190 , if it is your box i have one on my breaker for sale.

bl00dy viruses
don't get me wrong, i used to use antivirus software. but for the past 5 years i stopped. i haven't had any viruses since i stopped using them. as for storing things on a PC. simple things can stop you ever losing important stuff. like USB hard drive back ups. or better yet. Memory cards / USB flash drives. everything is prone to stuffing up, so if its photos, store them online, or print them off. Music is replaceable. movies are replaceable, games are replaceable, If you have business files on your hard drive. always make back ups. that way if your hard drive goes down the pan. you always have a back up. or you can always partition your drive and use the first half for the OS and the second half for all doc / important files. Most viruses attack the OS in an attempt to be fecking annoying. or use a secondary harddrive to store important information on. Simple things like this mean you will never have a problem. even if you get a problem. Virus scanners always hog a system. even if you don't notice it. they are always scanning files, when you start a new program up, your anti virus scans all files associated with that program. when you down load anything, it scans it. it runs a system scan more often than not, when you don't want it too. Only a few Antivirus software i know of, stops the virus before it even gets onto your PC. all others let you know that your now infected and try to deal with it in one of 2 ways, delete the file, or put it in the virus vault, only old viruses they know how to deal with, new viruses they haven't a clue about until someone updates the virus definitions and releases a update. So where is the point, you are just as much at risk having antivirus, than you are with out it. new viruses are always going to get onto your system before antivirus software knows how to effectively deal with it. and what i said about the dodgy porn sites is true 90% of viruses are downloaded from porn sites. "this video needs you to install player.exe" lol Others jump on your PC as soon as you enter the site. i cant count the amount of peoples PC's ive sorted out due to viruses. for them to say "i haven't looked at porn or anything so i haven't got a clue where it came from" then you check there web browsing history and find that the last entry was "bigbutchrussianchicks..co.ru" Windows xp is the worse for viruses though, as it has absolutely nothing stopping something being stealth installed onto your system like vista or windows 7 has.

pcv valves
You would notice the difference in the smell. steam from the exhausts dissipates rather fast. Oil hangs in the air and smells like such.
-
pcv valves
Well i can tell you now, if its smoking as much as you say it is, then its not PCV valves. sounds more like blown oil seal on the turbo tbh.
-
pcv valves
Didn't Jeff say one of your turbos had seized and that you have oil in cylinder 6? this would most likely be the cause of your smoking issue. id get that engine sorted out first before driving it around. as once its used all the engine oil in that cylinder. its only a matter of time before you lose a conrod. Or have you already sorted that problem out?

bl00dy viruses
to be on honest, apart from the odd occasion, most viruses come from porn sites. i stopped using antivirus long ago. mainly due to not needing it. stay away from the dodgy sites. don't click stupid links in emails from friends unless they tell you personally that they are sending you it. and avoid clicking links in Messenger programs, unless like emails the person has specified they are sending it.

Download this http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/ Run it from safe mode. copy and paste the report in to this thread. Also download this, but don't use it unless we find out what hijackthis reports. as this is a very powerful program that will delete running processes and remove the file, we need to find out what file the virus is. http://killbox.net/ Also if you haven't run a full system scan with a known good anti virus. for god sake don't use nortons antivirus, that thing hasn't got a clue what to do when it finds anything.

just a question but given the cost of parts, and labour (not sure what someone would charge to do that) would it be worth letting the insurance company know?

ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
Around the petrol flap, its come away, there is a join around that where the wing would Slot over the fuel filler housing where it is then bonded on with that strange yellow stuff, where its crimped up there is now a gap between the fuel filler surround and the wing. (hope that makes sense) I was thinking along the lines of cutting just right of the light cluster, down around that valance panel, and then near the wheel arch and replacing everything that's crumpled rather than getting it pulled stretched and bent back into shape. Have to remember i have a second car that I'm currently breaking so have all parts / panels available already. only thing i cant do is weld.

ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
could of been anything to be honest. i even wondered if it was a 4x4 that was doing 40 in front of me in a 60 zone. seemed a bit odd at the time, and it was only shortly after being behind it that i had the prang. Manta I'm not sure it would need a pull, the boot is pretty much fine with only a small patch, about the size of cigarette packet that's bent and even that isn't bent that much, the main chassis is fine. its just that outer skin that has crumpled like its supposed to. From what i can tell, that bit down near the rear wheel, if i cut along its edges i can take the whole thing off the car with out removing anything that is integral to the overall structural integrity of the car. once replaced and sprayed i doubt if its a good enough job that you would even be able to tell. this is the barrier i hit, damn it.... http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll=52.288323,-0.715742&spn=0,0.111151&z=14&layer=c&cbll=52.288129,-0.715498&panoid=3SOeUYvdovu3Q3TVEsEa2w&cbp=12,182.43,,0,25.15

well the red out lined section is hollow and not that big, and the number 1 part is stopping me fitting another bumper as its been pushed out due to the impact.

Tilting lifts on ebay
if your only planing on lifting the front or rear it would be ok, but id chock the wheels and find some way of securing the car to the ramp, unlike what they are showing in them pictures. or you might risk the car sliding on it.
-
ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
Bumper is now off, here are the pictures, boldy whats your opinion matey? luckily the damage is localised to a small area rather than the whole side of the car. Boot had minimal bending but nothing major, and the part of the car that suffered the most amount of damage from what i can tell can be replaced.
-
ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
cant get the bumper off at the moment, as its raining :( but have tried to get the exhaust back to where its supposed to be, think i need a longer bar, as i need more leverage. looks like the exhaust got crushed into the side of the car that follows the lines of the bumper so more damage than what i first thought, not sure its repairable unless i get it on a jig to be pulled straight. StellaZ that guy that did your M3 have you got a number for him?

ffs *Bumper off UPDATE*
