  1. only reason i say "buyer beware" is that most of the mods are internal, with the exception of the turbos and injectors. would be a good idea to check turbo size and injector color before purchasing. at least that way there is more likely the engine hasn't been touched and does indeed house those uprated parts.
  2. my cars already kick ass and it still needs 2 bits of welding, a fog light, new engine and gear box. cant get more kick ass than that. loving my anti theft device though, knackered engine and 2 gears lol
  3. Most people who decat there cars just leave the system in tbh matey and no problem.
  4. on the original cats, there are two extra features. one can be a temp sensor for the car. the other is for the AVI system, that recircs gas's from the exhaust back to the engine. you now have a redundant system and can just remove it all from inside the inner wing. you wont get any ECU codes. or you can leave it in with the rubber removed from the hard pipes that run under the car.
  5. Hollowpoint I'm the same mate, i cant sell a car unless i tell the new owner everything about it. if there is something Ive missed its genuinely due to forgetting about it at the time im with the person. not because im trying to miss lead them. It doesnt help sell a car sometimes, but at least people are fully aware of whats wrong with it before they part with there hard earned.
  6. Aah, true - think some garages really dont know we have printers nowwa days lol
  7. Because its a manual, check the interior pictures (manual gear stick)
  8. Bird im currently stripping an UK TT engine and can get the OEM manifolds off if you want them. PM me for a price is interested.
  9. Ive seen loads of hand written receipts. i understand what your saying jeff as its not that hard to add bits to the invoice, but even with printed ones, it doesnt mean its got the parts it says it has. in all fairness, i think he bought it off CRD racing, and then had it in storage for 8months before deciding to sell it. though it now begs the question. it was built in 2005, and thats a long time to remove and replace an engine. Buyers be ware is all im going to say on this one.
  10. mate its a similar story with the blue one that i got off big_jim. The ebay add stated that it had a new engine from 46k miles, and although there is a printed out ebay bought page with the engine on, there is absolutely no paper work or photos to back up the claim that the engine was even changed. the add also stated that gear box had only just gone, yet chasing up the owners in the members section on here, shows that the gearbox fault was known over a year ago now. there was no mention of smoking from the exhausts. or the lumpy idle. since i got the car off of Big_Jim, its in need of a new engine (so i cant see it being this new lump stuck in) as its got a hole in piston 6, so I'm not sure if the turbos are gone or its the fact there is absolutely no compression in cylinder 6, the plenum is swimming in oil, and the turbo pipes are as well. (Jim didnt have it up for sale, this is the ebay add that jim responded to, to get the car in the first place i might add) There is also a hole that needs sorting out under the drivers side sill area, and also by the looks of it, the very nicely blended in side skirt on the drivers side will need to come off so the rear outer sill needs replacing before the next MOT. Moral of the story, always worth getting someone to have a look for you, and if they remove stuff thats been advertised with the car, confront them about it and get the price lowered if your not happy. **EDIT** Next time your down near me getting a car and you want to say no, give me a ring you can stay at mine for the night and clear your head about what you want to do and how to get home. (that extends to anyone on here)
  11. the majority of them are the mk1's but then they have been around longer than the mk2, but it seems that both models are susceptible to the YLOD and even the RLOD which is the same issue just different location on the main board. I think the only reason the Mk1 looks more effected is like i said, its been around a lot longer.
  12. its a design fault, have a look on eBay, all variants can and do suffer from it. its called over heating lol you can help prevent it. Don't have the console on 24/7, make sure there is plenty of ventilation around the unit, keep it away from sources of heat. Or do what my mate did, strip the shell and take a drill to it, doesnt make it look pretty with loads of holes all over the case, but sure does a better job of keeping it cool than what Sony made.
  13. Right, i have a good condition spare passenger seat, is there anyway i can swap the seat part over to the drivers seat while keeping all the electric adjustments on the drivers seat frame, I've had a look but with out stripping the leather off its hard to tell if its even possible, don't want to start unless it can be done with out ruining anything.
  14. be posh, have a marble drive way lol, though i think your drive would need its own alarm system
  15. im not going to comment, i know a few people on here still havent seen it. but am i the only one who finds alonzo bloody annoying.
  16. well in that case then, it could be worth it. basically its when the console over heats, have a look online for the the YLOD fix, and dont pay for basic information on how to fix it. you will also need a anti tamper torx screw driver, (torx with the hole in the middle) to open it up, or you could just send it to me and ill fix it for you. but be warned, not all are fixable.
  17. only worth it IF they havent removed the the Blu ray player they havent removed the HDD they havent taken it apart and lost screws you get the power cabel and tv cable And, it hasnt been repaired before. then its worth it, if not dont bother
  18. if your going to do it, do it properly lol
  19. problem with a DSLR, is that the camera bodies are the cheap bits, the len's are the expensive bits. if your after a entry level DSLR, then get a cheap Canon Eos 300D from Ebay, prices range from £80 (if your damn lucky) to around £115 + , don't expect to get a len's, or if you do then it wont be a very powerful zoom len's Eos 300D is a 6mp camera, with all decent functions and being a canon EOS, will accept all EOS EF len's Expect to pay between £80 and £400 for a zoom len's
