[Advice] Trip to scotland
take a drive up to the isle of skye through the highlands mate, absolutely stunning. i blew my con rod on the road just east of the 5 sisters mountains, i had a mountain range one side a loch and another mountain range the other. stunning scenery to break down with, just mind the wild dear that frequent the side of the road. Just off shot to the far left is where i blew a conrod lol

JAE news concerning glass beverage containers
Glass bottles / pint glasses are prohibited from the site. Due to Wicksteed park being a place for children during the year, plus having a vast amount of cars on site during JAE, the organizers have taken the stance of what was set last year and are prohibiting glass bottles from the site. Attendees will be required to adhere to this as tyres and children don't mix too well with broken glass, and as its a large site and in use through out the year to families, cleaning up smashed glass would be a little bit of a mission. Full co-operation in this would be most appreciated. Thank you Vodkashots.

Nearly 400bhp on 1" of tyre!
Sub frame is fine, the damage was caused by a 1.5 ton car hitting the barrier at slow speed on a small area, I did have to change a hicas arm though and tracking wasn't checked after, subframe looked fine, and it also went through the mot with only the hicas arm failing it the first time, trust me I checked for damage after that happened as I was keeping the car at that point

How high: engine out
Ok right, seems people think I have a fully functioning Nissan factory with 4 posters or something, I want to lift the gear box and engine out of the bonnet as it says to do in the service manual, by disconnecting the steering column lower joint, removing the tension rod fixing bolts from both sides loosening the transverse link bolts and lowering it while the engine is on a hoist

How high: engine out
Gear box and engine need changing, I've done engine and gearbox change before but always taken the gearbox off and then the engine out
-
How high: engine out
eh? all i want to do is stick the car on ramps at the front, and lift the engine after lowering the front cross member while the engine is attached to the gearbox as per the service manual. why would i make things more complex by trying to raise the car up and over the engine and having to undo more than what is essentially necessary? I have limited lifting capabilities as it is lol unless im just not following what your on about

How high: engine out
General question, but whats the minimum height i need to get the car in the air to be able to get the engine and gearbox out by dropping the front sub frame. Thinking of doing it this way this time to save time and also gain the experience from doing it in this manner. I've always taken the gearbox off first and then the engine. and although i find it better when working on my own. id really like to attempt my engine and gearbox change by dropping the front sub frame so i can attach the gearbox to the engine while its out and lower it in, in one go to save the hassle of trying to raise a gearbox off the floor and mount it with the engine.

Thinking of selling up.
the garage that said £600 for repair work, plus a spray over in the location to match the car is the same garage that Artztogo got all his body work done with, based in wednesbury Birmingham. They also quoted me £1200 for a full respray as well and are very good. Jim have you had a look at a cheap Volvo estate? comfy enough for the family but large enough for work, also good on insurance and fairly cheep to run.

Suspension Problems!
id first have a visual inspection to see if anything has snapped / broke / perished if that yields no results, jack up the front end, and with each wheel in the air, grab it at the quarter to 3 position with both hands and see if there is any abnormal left to right movement. then do a half 12 position with both hands and do the same. if there is movement then something has given in. do the same with both wheels. also check the struts to see if they are leaking or not.

crazy 'jingling' sound over bumps?
Sounds strange but check your exhaust bolts are tight.
