  5. My first was a 1.9sr A series and a good few years later bought a basket case one to restore, bought a Rover v8 and manual box to fit in it as well , half retored it and then it just sat on my garden for many years , scrapped it when we moved house :thumbdown:
  6. I remember that car from my Manta days !! iirc the kit is a Mattig Extreme kit :confused1: which in it,s self wasn,t cheap , i fitted a cheaper less brash version on mine called the Elegance kit .

Sorry to hear about your problems Tom , wish i could help shed some light on what could be wrong bud but i aint got a clue :huh: the one thing you put that stuck in my mind was leaving your car and it getting bird lime all over it ! it,ll eat into your paint like paint stripper bud , really needs to be covered bud if your leaving it parked up for a while :yes:
  8. Ooh grim !! we found that the n/s/r marker light in your bumper had a very wierd wiring set up ! it had 2 lives on it ! obviously it didn,t work so we had to sort out the connection on that but everything else work fine :huh:

  13. The area that is rung is or was available as a seperate panel for each side , the part connecting them together is part of the rear panel itself and is welded to the boot floor at it,s lower edge , just a bit confused why you,d want to remove them bud ??

As a few have said , it,s urethane so it sands down well going down through the grades but if you have any splits in urathane the only way of gluing it succesfully is with a superglue , QBond which uses micro balloons as a crack filling agent is excellent , it doesn,t take normal body filler well but a proper plastic bumper filler such as PlastX does work . HTH

  19. Exactly what i used to do mine , a dremel,s just not man enough and would take forever , air die grinder and a carbide cutter :thumbup1:

  22. Panelwipe degreaser brings it straight off as does petrol . hth
  23. I was getting a wet filter as water was dripping through between the nose panel and bumper , made a little shield and it cured it . Someone called em zed pants !! but it works :thumbup:
