  1. Sorry to read this Chris , i know how much you,ve put into your car but just remember ANYTHINGS repairable , just get it to the right place and they,ll get her back to her former glory bud
  2. I bought one of these to do mine with , bearing in mind i havn,t sprayed a car for over 20 years but it came out quite well , even better after a flat and polish  I was recommended by our sprayers that a 1.3 or1.4mm nozzle probably would have been better but it still worked ok .HTH http://www.screwfix.com/p/metabo-fb2200-gravity-feed-spray-gun/67563
  3. I got the same a while ago , paid £70 on fleabay !, nice quality as well
  4. Not a Vulcan but did you see this on the news ?
  5. If it,s the 10mm headed self tapping bolts your after they,re usually called Spire bolts and Spire clips are what they screw into. Just found these so you know what i,m on about ! lol http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-mil-Acme-Wing-Bolts-and-Spire-Clips-Suits-Most-Cars-/250861696717?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a6885b6cd
  6. No bud , just marked them and didn,t clean the impeller or compressor wheels , just mainly de-coked the rear end of the shafts and fitted the overhaul kit , felt as smooth as silk when i put them back together , i,ve now got a zedworld chip and took the boost to 14.5 psi and it,s frighteningly quick , no whistling noises from the tubs . The ones i had profesionally done only lasted about three years and not that many miles so for £180 and a few hours on a bench i thought i,d give it a go :thumbup1: A couple of how to do,s i used http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/188356-t25-turbo-rebuild.html http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/20051009.Garrett_T25_Turbo_Rebuild/
  7. When i did mine i fitted 360degree bearings , what annoyed me was i had a pair refurbed at Midland Turbo a few years ago , now at the time i didn,t know much about turbos and i asked how much it would cost to fit 360 bearings , they quoted me £100 a turbo extra, i,m thinking they need some special machining or something , i didn,t have the money for that so just had a basic re-con done , which still cost £500 with one new impeller wheel ! I wanted to do the manual ones i,d bought so i opted for the 360 kit and it,s a 2 min job and a direct replacement for the 270 standard bearing !!! A piece of pi55 to fit , why they wanted £200 extra is beyond me. While i had mine apart i fitted staggered gap rear oil seals in them , same again a direct replacement for the standard seal but cures the smoking on tickover issue once they,ve done a good few miles and on high boost, most smokey Zeds turbo,s are actually still in good usable nick it,s just the rear seals that lets oil leak past .:crying::crying: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Garrett-T2-T25-T28-Race-staggered-rear-oil-seal-turbo-/320661705597?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa8ed537d
  8. I did the old long screwdriver to the ear method and it,s deffo the pump bud , i wouldn,t have minded it being the alternator as i,ve got a spare and it,s easy to change ! lol. Luckily i,ve got alot less to strip off wth the stuff i,ve moved or done away with :thumbup1:
  9. Lol , yeah i phoned him today and he said he,d just sold the last one  He,s gonna get one for tomorrow , handy thing is he,s only a few miles away
  10. Had a strange noise started a few days ago , didn,t do it when cold but got worse the warmer the car got , had a look at it today and it,s the water pump , removed the belt and it feels smooth with virtually no play in it and no leaks and is pumping well , start the warm engine and no noise , put the belt back on and the rattles there , very strange :crying::crying: Oh well i,d best start stripping it down :crying::crying:
  11. My boss a few years ago was called Alan Cox , a letter from a water company arrived adressed to him so he pinned it up on the wall and you,ve probably guessed by now it was adressed a MR COCKS !! pmsl
  12. Sad news but when you play with fire an all that :no::no:
  13. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:That,s what it,s all about bud !
  14. Welcome bud , zeds look good in any colour especially blue  lol
  15. I fitted the Japspeed ones and the difference in the mid range was very noticable:thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:
  16. Sorry bud i don,t know , i fitted it a good few years ago and threw the box :blush:
  17. I using a Lucas one , about £12 IIRC , no probs at all with it
  18. Took it up to 14psi today , lets say it,s enough for me :thumbup1: Don,t want to overdo things and break something . Chris your far better off having an electronic boost controller , you can set peramiters on it to stop it overboosting ( spiking ) and melting your engine ! I,m using a Gizzmo ebc , very easy to use and set up  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Z32-300ZX-Gizzmo-MS-IBC-Electronic-Boost-Controller-/140431838834?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20b263ce72
  19. Ooh , i feel another tinkering session coming up ! lol cheers bud
  20. TA ! , see you there if it,s not pi55ing down .
  21. LOL i,m not too sure of the peramiters of this chip so didn,t want to over do it but that sounds like it could be fun :w00t:, i need to contact Jeff really and find out :blushing:
  22. I got it off fleabay bud for £120 :thumbup:
  23. I picked one of these up a while back and now i,ve been running the car abit and i,m happy all is well i thought i,d better fit the chipped ecu and play with the boost controller , after a few runs and increasing it gradually i settled at 12psi , FOOKING WOW :scared::scared: , the cars felt faster as a manual anyway but this has put it in a different league !! One very happy middle aged pot bellied bloke ! lol :dance::dance:
  24. Arkwright when,s the next one bud ?
