  1. Jimmer is a man on a mission at the moment, my heads have been pressure tested and re skimmed. They are AOK, had some lovely machine work done on the mike smith manifolds for the exhaust gas sensor. Had an Air temp sensor fitted to the plenham. Also seems that whoever fitted parts of my old suspension put them around the wrong way (not me only few bits that are original). I dont think it should be to long before she is purrrring like a kitten and then I can post some videos of it up. John Dixon is putting an Emerald system in then she should be ready to be run in. Jimmer said that the head work and internals are mind blowing with lovely machine work and oversize valve job. Im really looking forward to seeing just how much power this little baby will produce . Should be well into the 600s without race fuel and NOS. If I can get into the 700s it will have all been worth it. I also have the option later of putting bigger tubs on for a bit more but I wanted a sensible car to use on the road that spooled up low down the rev range as I never set out to build a DYNO queen. But the build is guaranteed to hold 1200BHP and was built for use with NOS so more than enough to get my teeth into. Im so excited now I cant tell you  been a few occasions when I wanted to break the thing for parts.
  2. They will get fewer and fewer every year now until they are a classic IMO. I dont think they will ever be worth loads of money, but the fact so many are still coming off the road means that parts are easy to come by. I imagine Baz will one day have his own international parts depot as you can get even the most obscure parts from him delivered next day .
  3. Yeah honestly you could live in the thing if you ever got stuck! its very nice. I bought it for her because of all the money I spent on the zed. like I say its 99% on for Tuesday vet just needs to confirm the horse is sound monday am just to confirm im not throwing a load of cash away on a half dead beast. Thanks guys if anyone can make it please let me know, she is not bad company either.. the Horse that is not the wife lol.
  4. Few in Portsmouth area but most of them are off the road lol
  5. Yeah great forum, its a long shot but worth asking lol. Shes a good driver but its just to far for her to go on her own with a Horse on the back. Here are a few piccies of her lorry, we had it built last year. It has a full size cooker, fridge, flat screen TV DVD, sink, microwave, Toilet, double bed, shower, reversing camera, and loads of other cool bits.
  6. M8 thats cool thing is your in east sussex bud so would probably cost you near that in petrol to get over here. Would be happy to pay more to cover your fuel etc to get here. She has fully comp insurance for anyone to drive over 21 years old. We tried getting someone in newmarket to deliver it but its the newmarket horse shows for two weeks so they are fully booked up. Its from SO323NW to CB89DG The horse is being vetted on Monday morning so provided it passes would be Tuesday. Can leave at a time to suit.
  7. My mrs has just bought a new Horse in Newmarket and she needs to collect it on Tuesday and get it back to Southampton. We have a 7.5 Ton horsebox Iveco Eurocargo that she drives but she needs someone to share the driving with her who is used to driving 7.5 Ton stuff. Happy to pay say £100 to come along and split the driving, its about 150 miles each way so probably take 5-6 hrs to do. I have to work :cursing: anyhows long shot but thought I would just ask as there might be an out of work driver around.
  8. That is quite a den Bud!
  9. Easy one to fix that, get a louder stereo and keep it turned up! You will then never be bothered by that noise again.:clown: Sorry could not resist that there is a rubber that goes over the gear knob, have a look and make sure that it is secured also that it does not have any holes in it except for the obvious one. It could be loose or split?. Not sure if it would be the problem though.
  10. LOL that is funny Baz you have a funny sense of humour bud lol
  11. It can be fun but I dont get out enough, I do it in spits and spurts found a few nice bits a roman godess statue head and loads of coins and buckels and stuff. Normally though you go out for a whole day get freezing cold and come home with about 3p and loads of bits of metal that really could be anything.
  12. It can be done as a DIY job as well providing you dont rush it.
  13. Dude there is a decent recon £600 engine in the for sale forum, maybe pull the old one out and do a swop over. Either do it yourself or get a price from someone else to do it or help with it.
  14. Ok I was wondering what hobbies that everyone has other than the obvious Zed one?. For me I love History, collect Roman and WW2 stuff Go Metal Detecting Cycling Mixing & Scratching Technics and Vinyl (old skool but cool) Also love doing DIY and painting etc. Good job with some of the tennants I get lol
  15. Going to Christies tommorow to see if an old pair of flintlock pistols that I own sell. Should be fun been waiting ages for the sale to come up. I Have never been to an auction before so must remember not to buy anything LOL. here are the pistols http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?from=salesummary&intObjectID=5356576&sid=2ac2ea8f-38c1-450a-84d9-9a64fbccc6b9 my mrs has already claimed the proceeds for a new horse :w00t: Only three sets from this maker known to exist globally so fingers crossed. I took them as part payment on a debt from someone so pleased to get shot of them TBH.
  16. Mine has been Taxed for 17 months and been off the road for all of that except 4 days..... now the MOT is out and I have missed every deadline I tried to get it on the road for. Its frustrating but I just want to drive the thing now:whistling: I think if I was gonna do the whole thing again from start to finnish I would probably try and keep the car on the road and do a job at a time rather than a complete restoration in one go. For a first car restoration it was a massive job and when you go highly modified as well it confuses things even more. Jimmer is making good progress on the car at the moment so I have everything crossed that one day in the not to distant future I will be able to finally drive the blasted thing :confused1:.
  17. Would have just stayed in the road indicating with my hand on the horn until the fecker moved.
  18. Yes cant wait, Jimmer seems to be making super hero progress on my car at the moment ,so fingers crossed I will have a working zed at long long last quite soon.
  19. Well done bud it was mine as well this week (12 years) but we have been together since we were at school (21 years now). OMG 21 years!, funny thing is we still have a great fresh and fun relationship as well. I can see myself getting old with her and I just wish things would stay like this forever. Its nice to have a no shit relationship that is good and strong. OMFG that sounds awful almost like something a bird would write :hurl: Ok been married for 12 years only stay with the old girl as she cooks real good and is great in the sack. I plan to ditch her for a younger blonde model as soon as she stops bringing me beer in the bath, or stops serving up on request.
  20. mmmmm the irvin ones look nice as well... might have to get me one of those. I like the memphis belle one as well... cracking movie as well.
  21. Looking forward to mine getting done.. cant wait its all very exciting
  22. I know mine has restrictors in but they are JWT700BBs
  23. you are right im gonna buy another one, keep one normal and age the other one up. Cant believe just how good quality it is for £125 RAF tagged and endorsed. Real soft leather. So pleased with it I was gonna e-mail the company and I never do stuff like that. I already have the sunglasses as well, http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/men/accessories/33/1 Well I do fly a desk so you need all the gear! sometimes it gets bright or cold in the office :thumbup1:
  24. Wanted to buy a flying jacker for ages... its one of those things I always wanted but for one reason or other never bought one. Anyhows bought one of these http://proviationshop.co.uk/shop/article_RAFM223.001/RAF-Dambuster-Jacket.html?sessid=4Gqd60EYDYKYneZy97s20zg5VpcNnB6fWzGUfhNyqTTefV8970A34SqRvTEhbgK2&shop_param=cid%3D169%26aid%3DRAFM223.001%26 Its lovely fantastic quality and I love it. Question is this should I really mess it up, drag it about on the floor get some sand paper to it and stick a few nice patches on it to give it a retro look. Or just wear it and enjoy it as it is (new looking). I really wanted to mess it up but its so nice im still on the fence over it. What do you think?
