  1. LOL.. notice the guy didn't say a 300zx tt...... the Soarers are all auto's and like I said unless you get one that has been looked after the rear turbo will need replacing... asks them about that on the forum... if you like I can put you in touch with my mate who owns one and he'll tell you all the pitfalls.. it's an old car just like the 300, be prepared to spend money on it.
  2. when you say, "stuck air through it" do you mean pressurise or just pump air in to the system? if you managed to block off the air filter/maf inlet, you can use some smoke matches (cheap on ebay of from plumbing store).. if you haven't got a plug to block off the air intake i can help sort you out with something...
  3. LOL.. love to know where you get the info from.... mate of mine has a 2.5tt (1JZ), yes very quick, he has a single T4 conversion (with big induction so now even faster), the 2.5tt is junk, turbos back to back into a y pipe for the exhaust, heavily restricted and the rear turbo in prone to failure (and quite common to so so). The 1JZ however is a great engine... seen a few conversions on the 240 & 260z. nice interior and with a body kit can look good, but compared to the 300zx.... way second class!!!! I'd buy one if I wanted a family car....
  4. thanks..:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: i feel such a :xxx: i didn't put the new LED flasher unit in because I was afraid it would blow like the old one.... just did and BINGO all work fine.... so there must have been enough resistance to work the hazards but not the indicators... I will do a test later on with filament bulbs in and the standard flasher unit to prove it's OK... good call, cheers... :thumbup1: :punk:
  5. thanks, worth a look... it did just do the drain hose on that side a few weeks back and checked them but they seemed OK... might have to have another look....
  6. cheers, indicator stalk shows resistance fine on each side and no leak back the other way, but I will try a bypass today to confirm. fuse box pulled out enough so I could see behind it and it looked fine.
  7. No, I have got one ready but didn't want to risk burning out out lie the old one, so using the standard one as it seems to be more resilient, not worried about the fast flash. would the LED's light up even if there was a short at one of them? cheers.
  8. Hi, OK... totally lost now… indicator issue…. They don’t flash, just stay on.. and if I leave them on the fuse blows. So, I have LED’s all round, they all work because the alarm system on and off flashes all of them, the hazard switch works and they all flash. It doesn’t matter what side I turn on it’s the same thing, but only that side turn on. I’ve replaced the flasher unit and no change, I’ve also replaced the hazard switch and ignition still no change. I’ve checked for resistance at the indicator switch and both sides good and no leak. I pulled out the hazard fuse and tried again but same result. I pulled the flasher fuse and jumped the power off the hazard switch to the indicators and the same thing, they stay on. I measured the voltage from the supply to the indicators and it shows 12 volts + (engine off) with the ignition on but when I turn the ignition to acc it still shows a slight voltage. When the ignition is set to off no voltage… I put the volt metre on the fuse box where the supply comes in and I get the same strange slight voltage…(with the acc on) So I’d say a power leak from another supply before the fuse but after the ignition… I’ve had the fuse box almost out and almost all the wires visible but still can’t find the fault. Has anyone else had similar or knows what this could be…. Major hair loss imminent.. :)
  9. LOL... so the answer is yes there are some engines out there now but "now" is the critical word meaning "NEW" and so not cheap, along with the conversion, unless you are a bit of a mechanical whizkid you will have to pay and I'm just wondering how much that will cost..... why not just get one and run it for as long as you think it would have cost you to do the conversion (but in fuel) and then sell it.... :) ... or just get one and use it as a weekender / fare-weather car, that will save you a packet on insurance with the limited miles and you won't have to worry about the daily drive killing your Zed.
  10. wow, stunning example.... best of luck...
  11. lol. Oops.. when you had one..... didn't mean to make you cry... :)
  12. yeah, Jeff explained it to me (or how I understood it).... the iridiums are designed for modern cars with higher revving engines, this then helps them to self clean.... they are not designed for anything with larger engines that work a lower revs... he said this had been confirmed by a guy from NGK (horses mouth). I'm going back to the platinums ..........
  13. good thinking.... now just going to run it by the wife, she how receptive she is to it ....
  14. I thought you didn't have any money!?!?!... lol.... someone please keep him away from the toy shop...
  15. yes.... but your idle is too high!!!!!!! that will not help things in the long run... follow Steams advise and clean the IAA, it's not hard to get it off... but you will most likely have to get/make a new gasket for it.... once you get that sorted and the idle adjusted down to the right level you can get some more readings and see to the O2....
  16. since that's what mine says as well, I can only assume it means because you have the best colour Zed... :) :devil2:
  17. right so you've got no fuel regulators at all... but that would mean that any fuel would just go right back to the tank. .. no pressure in the rail.. better off blocking the return off (temp only!! just to get it going) I t think the accelerator cable looks like its on the wrong link... I don't know exactly how that would cause an issue but that's what I think...
  18. ah, look in the FAO section, there is a write up on it... you need to host the pic or photobucket or somewhere like that and then put the link in using the insert image icon. you could even do it from facebook...
  19. got to admit I do like lexus... congrats... hope it's as good to you as the GS300
