  1. classic car insurance comes with limited mileage... it is designed for people to have a car as a hobby so by definition not a daily drive. for a daily drive be prepared to pay around the £500 mark (and more if you're young or have convictions).
  2. A shed load of Yanks think we're a load on Commies over here!!!! just mention national health care or unemployment benefit & housing and see them reach for their guns. but if they'd bother to look at their social system they would see its very similar to China... LOL... who is the commie now!?!?!
  3. LOL.. very good... :) quite a nice reflection on how most Americans see the world.. there is only one world, "the US of A"
  4. I take it that this is a legitimate buyer and not one of those scams.. you will have cleared funds in your bank before releasing the car? or verified bankers draft.
  5. don't think that is powerful enough for a Zed... :)
  6. the ones at the back of the block that go to the cabin... yes they are different.. you should be able to get them from MJP or SFS, look in the trade section. and here for part numbers: http://nissan4u.com/parts/300zx/er_z32/1992_2/type_1/ or here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/300zx-parts-z32-1990-1996-c-882.html
  7. Ahw.. gosh.. thanks guys.... :blushing: I'm sure he would have been eager to chat to me then.... Well at least I'll know what to do next time... and thanks again for the advice
  8. Hey, Just a quick note to show my appreciation for Zedworld and their benefit to the Zed community. I guess everyone is aware of the issues I recently had with my engine. The short of it was another car that had been butchered by Ztech. Well Jeff and co. did their best to fit me in early and perform a major heart transplant on it after building a new engine for me (this time, to the specs it should have been in the first place). If it hadn't been for them I would have most likely hung up the keys. Anyway just a big thanks for making a horrific situation bearable.. Cheers, Gerry.
  9. Hi, I'm sure Jeff posted a fix for this.... I think it's because the blubbers aren't sealed in the corners enough. (i could be wrong, but it's work having a look at the post)
  10. yeah, total empathy with you.. I've done a couple of jobs under there.. not fun, particularly for a middle-aged (robust) man.. :) removing the seat was easy and once I'd done that for another reason I did a couple more jobs under the dash and I must say I was almost pleasant.. (almost) next time, the seats are coming out!!!!
  11. some good ideas there... lol.... I like the idea of pictures / projector / powerpoint. maybe one of you could do the speech and the other organised the pics ans work the projector, surely these two different activities would be one of you better. it may be a good idea to get the speech translated into German and hand out cards to the German speakers just before the speech starts. the alternative as mentioned by someone else is to have a translator, that would be a more elegant solution but you will need some time to sort it out and get the speeches to stop and start at convenient times (i.e. for delivery of punch lines.. nothing worse than only half the audience laughing).... Mmmm do Germans laugh anyway?.. just kidding.. however do remember that their humor is different and so you really need input from a German speaker. best of luck... glad it's not me.. :)
  12. is this it? http://www.itv.com/news/wales/update/2012-11-02/nine-people-rescued-after-bridgend-flooding/
  13. I'm confused... from the instructions it looks like you should have at least two wired to be inserted into the injector feed to redirect it though the traction control unit. are there different models of this unit? was it pre fitted or have you just put it in yourself?
  14. yeah, got to admit, that's where I get mine from as well.... hard pressed to get a better price than that.
  15. no, not the only one then.... if you say that is good then I'm happy too........
  16. nutta... :lol::lol::lol:
  17. why can't I find a cheaper quote for mine? L reg JDM tt. exhaust, spoiler & bumper. daily drive 18000 miles pa one conviction. I can't seem to get anyone to take on the high mileage (all motorway).
  18. the wiring is the easy part... you should have the power (and possibly earth) from your old bolt on fog. it must come out of the car somewhere, just keep it inside the car and connect up to the new setup. the usual thing if for it to be connected to the front fog switch, so as long as you haven't removed the wire/s you should be good to go. Ah, I didn't mention option number 4... replace the JDM bumper with a UK spec... (again a lot of work and expense) :)
  19. mate, there are a number of ways to setup a rear fog that is better than the ugly bolt one junk. 1 - convert one (or both) of one of the break light bulbs in each side of the rear light assembly (unless you get it done properly it makes it look like one of the break lights is out, not my favorite). 2 - convert one of the reverse light bulbs (easiest & cheapest solution, just the price of a red bulb). 3 - add extra bulb holder/s to the reverse light section/s (my personal favorite but unless you already have the parts, is more expensive and a lot more work that either of the others). option 3 looks like this:
  20. Well, I practically spend my life looking out for other Zeds and very rarely see any (apart from meets and at Zedworld). walked into the lounge room this morning and there is one parked in my street!!!! just managed to snap this shot on my phone before it drove off.
  21. Yeah, like MarkDerby said, the Nissan ones are a different setting. you can trick it by finding a resistor that will correct it, however you need conzult or some other software to find the temp and then using an adjustable resistor set the after market one so it reads right. then measure the resistance that the adjustable resistor is set to and get a set resistor of that value and wire it in to the gauge. or just put the one that came with the gauge in as described (with the adapter).
  22. yeah, I don't know, these insurance companies have strange formulas for working it out... when they ask you all the questions you assume it's because they are tailoring the quote to you but really its based on a few thinks that are strange... post code & occupation are big ones and they are based on statistics... nothing really to do with you!!! :smash: the world is controlled by accountants and auditors, that is why it's in such a mess!!! LOL... anyway I'm still looking for someone that will give me a better rate...
