  1. haha I dropped it using it as torch on the zed, smashed the screen, replaced it over the weekend, then dropped it again yesterday... smashed again lol... ill order another screen at some point, think I can use an early NA rack, its the early (hicas equipped) TT racks that aren't compatible, (as far as I know anyway), been really tempted to swap the racks between the blue and silver one...
  2. yeah, have removed the power steering belt, as its not so much a leak as much as the pipe completely snapped.... I actually like it under normal driving, unfortunately low speed, roundabouts and more to the point parallel parking are an issue... might take you up on that anyway ali, if you want to sell me your na rack down the line it would be a useful spare for a track car regardless, the only thing that concerns me about using the silver one is I've broken my mobile so if it breaks down I'm in trouble lol...
  3. took it to work again, widebands now calibrated, fuel pressure now spot on, one bank is perfect other has a pre sensor leak (can see it) giving the impression its lean, all main pipes tight and sealed, still have the boost controller off, making 14psi fells smooth albeit a bit sluggish through the gears, although thinking could be the clutch letting it down, will bring it too work Saturday, hopefully fix the exhaust leak, and few other little things, give it a clean, then decide if its worth using it for the boxhill run.... really want to but probably shouldn't without power steering...
  4. price depending and if they do the late spec loom, I'm in.
  5. Tbh that depends on what people want / can attend, Joely have you got a pub in mind?
  6. I know it's early, but gives plenty of time to organise a date location, and time off if nessisary, Is their any interest? Could either be a bluewater meet, or maybe a pub for a meal etc... Or both convoy? Open to ideas, suggestions, an idea of numbers?
  7. I had apexi filters for years ( got z1 pop chargers now) only time I had a problem was on a really wet day, I had nothing to deflect water (spray) away from it, but any cone would have suffered, i would say be careful lots of knock-off apexi filters out there, a colleague bought one off ebay, and compared to my genuine one the quality was shocking, I wouldn't have put it on my zed
  8. That what I expected to hear from jae unfortunately, even if my zed was ready didn't plan on going, I know your pain as do most members on here, I don't want to know how much the new bits on my zed cost let alone the amount of time I've spent on it, and it's still not ready lol, stick with it, I pulled my plenum 4 times last week because I couldn't get my 300 degree rail to seal properly, which injectors have you got? On to bigger and better things next year, ( that's what I keep telling myself anyway)
  9. yeah all mods declared on both zeds, even the roll cage, big turbos etc, spent too much time and money on it to risk it. 320 for my Mondeo , 745 for my silver zed, 328 for the blue one, includes some track insurance, and competition use on the silver one... next best company wanted 2000+ for all 3 and even more as soon as the cage was mentioned.
  10. Is it possible to get a new membership card, or something else to confirm my membership? Just sorted my insurance out, (reis motorsport) and they have asked for a copy of my membership card, but I think I lost it a long time ago. Dont mind paying for it. Thanks
  11. Fitted my exhaust properly on the ramp, sorted the fuel leaK out, found the pas leak, (not fixed yet not available from nissan) Drove it for the first time on a straight Road, hardly gave it 0.6bar and it shot off down the road, can't believe how fast it is, can't wait till have the steering working and finalising everything so I can let it carry on boosting, still grinning now, really hoping to fix the steering for the box hill run...
  12. Well this is a good start, hehe, I'll look into what I know of then, feel free to pm me any idea thoughts etc,
  13. Has anyone got a spare rack for a late twin turbo? or just the metal line that comes out the rack next to the sump and goes to where the column joins? Banjo one end thread the other, Turns out the baffled sump caught it on the way in,
  14. There's two Tunerfest north - Oulton Park, and Tunerfest south - brands Hatch There's bhp Lydden hill There quite a few, would be good to incorporate some more casual "local" shows
  15. Ment presence* good start I'd like to lock in more regular meets, maybe try to join some other groups /clubs. Big events like japfest will probably be sorted by NemesizX (NEO) but there no reason we can't get some south East convoys going.
  16. A bit early I know, But thought I'd see what suggestions or ideas for events for our region next year, So lets hear them, then I can start looking into making them happen, there's enough of us active in this are that I think we can give the 300's a presence* again... I personally like incarnation and Tunerfest, I know a few of us are into track days etc, also wondered as some don't like the idea of tracking their pride and joys, maybe club go karting? Just an idea. Or an ace cafe meet? We could get a few of us up to North weald test and tune days, Interested to hear what others would like to see in the region
  17. Main reason wanted to run the engine, test it for leaks/problems before its put on a dyno and mapped, really don't like the idea of dyno'ing anything that's just been put back together, was only $100, Done it's job, I'd have payed to have it trailed to a mapper, had them try to map it just to find the small fuel leak and be back to square one. The chip was done to order using my spec list so should be fit for purpose, although obviously a custom dyno map should be better, but that's on the cards for a few months time when I've fixed a few finds.
  18. My chip turned up from sz, fitted it then my zed wouldn't idle... Hunting all over the shot, 3 hours later... (and much sadness) found my selin had somehow been put into add mode.... ( switch is exposed on the new ones not hidden like the early type) back in average fired straight up.... Think I've still got a slight leak on my 300 degree rail, probably caught a seal on the way in, but that's tomorrows job...
  19. I'd be more inclined to say the box being dry had no fluid whatsoever in it ( was it a year you said it sat for?) was always told that's a no no! Of course could have just been drained for transport so could be irelavent. probably was fine on the car it came off, ( the fact it was initially fine supports this) doesn't mean it wasn't about to fail. Had autoboxs fail on me before, very little if any prior warning, iirc literally stopped going into 4th and 3rd, You wanted a manual anyway, given its a project maybe save up and fit things like a 1 piece prop, eliminating as much as possible at the same time,
  20. I'll help too if needed Ali, feel bad that after all that the box only lasted a day, not done a conversion before personally but happy to help all the same.
  21. F 07-89 to 11-90 S 31036-45p20 08 -92 to 04-93 No idea if there interchangeable though...
  22. Hardest part is lifting the box lol, Seen anything like this in there..?
  23. Just thinking the amount of electronic goodies fitted to your zed it's possible it had an alc fitted, in theory they just keep the pressure up for faster changes ( I think that's what they do) it could be the culprit...
  24. Prop bearing seemed ok, the first box had lost drive, and was jerky before that iirc, no visible damage to the flexplate, no leaks, You haven't got any piggy back computers, like hks alc etc, that could be causing pressure issues.
