Got my renewal today for my Aprilia RSV ® millie....ferking over 500 quid!!!! They SHOULD test the tell tale light, comes on with ignition, goes out when ABS unit does its stuff...still MOT testers arent always the sharpest...

Thing is, it didnt smoke when I got it and have done some miles since....so am thinking that it might be someone elses oil in the pipes (fingers crossed)

Replaced my fuel pump/exhausts and tried my first tank of optimax the other week, Car started to smoke a little when I give it some accelleration (bugger, should of done them 1 at a time so I could work out what caused it). The zorsts are standard mongoose ones which have given a noticeable gain along with the fuel pump and then I did the optimax thing a few days later. This did not start straight away and would only do it when hot so I immediately tought PCV valves which I have on order from mike feeney. (or was it my turbo seals?....not according to the decat survey thing...thank ferk (I havent de catted as mines not going to pass an MOT without em as is a late 92)) Strangely enough though I took the car out today and gave it a really good beasting...and it doesnt smoke now???? WTF is that all about then? Anyone else had this?? The zorsts were second hand so I guess they could of had a bit of crap in them from the donor car...any ideas? :( :(

spot on willie o, rad cap is as cheap as chips and this sounds to be your prob from what you say, the system is pressurising, it reaches the breakpoint of the cap which releases pressure, Brown sludge is not necessarilly oil, that would tend to be white sludge, the brown stuff is usually accumulated crap, needs flushing though to avoid other overheat probs, re flush if necessary, new rad cap, bet your probs are over. Incidentally, when you add antifreeze it reduces the water density and therefore will find more leaks, thats what looks 2 have happened here! bit of boring tech stuff for you!!
