  1. http://www.safespeed.org.uk/unsigned.html ereyou go
  2. No chance, recent stated case says it doesnt matter if it isnt signed or dated (and if it aint returned its all over for the registered keeper. ) I will try and dig out a reference to this ruling and have seen it on the safespeed web site.
  3. The switch works fine and after 1/2 hour or so of being in the footwell I got the switch out and tested it on a multimeter, works fine. The car is auto so cant see any others there to worry about. Thanks?
  4. breaker bar, bout 2 feet longer than a ratchet, lots o swearing and ferked knuckles!, bust my socket on one of them....good excuse to buy a new set though!!! Am about on Thursday daytime if you are still stuck, let me know?
  5. Checked that...working fine even though I turned it in same problem. Not a lot of room in the footwell though!!! Anyone got any other ideas?
  6. is it theese ones?..had to do mine recently for a wheel bearing...tight... http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=br&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=13&design=default&total=56
  7. would imagine that would cover a flap off the sidewall still attached? Agree with last post entirely! (last but 1 anyway!)
  8. not being funny mate but read what you posted too! reach the cords I said (mot manual) exposed cords you said. Down to interpretation I guess. but what do I know about it?.... I dont have a dodgy tire though......
  9. yes it is, cuts. lumps, bulges, tears or exposure of the ply or cord, separation of the tread A tyre has a cut longer than 25mm or 10% of the section width of the tyre. whichever is the greatest, and deep enough to reach the ply or cord. A tyre with a lump, bulge or tear caused by separation or partial failure of its structure, including lifting of the tread, Any ply or cord exposed.
  10. Have a look in the links section, guess your nearest is Sylvian eng (now called Nisstek I believe, theres a co called MJP Eastern http://www.mjpauto.com/ who will probably know someone near to you...Not had a Z for long so cant help a great deal..
  11. You could probably hire a puller, When I was in the trade we did as jock says and leave the nut on. Sometimes the wheel wont just pull off so you might have to whack the column spindle with a hammer as you are pulling the steering wheel up. The nut then serves 2 purposes...stops you breaking your nose, stops you knackering the threads, just make sure the nut is flush on the column.. Had te realign mine the other day as HICAS light kept comming on. I read it was due to a sensor on the steering boss, problem solved,
  12. I would change it if the tear is that deep. Apart from being a safety issue you are likely to acquire points on your licence as it is illegal! Bottom line is that you dont know what internal tyre damage there is and the sidewall is now obviously weakened! Your call.
  13. Sorry to worry you mate...mine is LOUD...hear it at the Turpin on 11th if I havent replaced it. should put your mind at rest!! I do have minor probs at the mo with the car 'stuttering' a little and have read that this might be an issue (amongst other things!). Can hear the pump above the zorsts and reckon it is all over for it! Best way to check filter is to do a temporary bypass....my pump is ferked!!
  14. Thanks Ivan..I will have a look
  15. Try doing yer rear wheel bearing on the Zed then....ferking b*stard of a job....it had been on since manufacture so tight as a nuns c*nt...took best part of 4 hours to dismantle...handbrake pads exploded as I took em apart so like one of them puzzles you get at xmas!!! (anyone need them done then I am the one!) 4 hours to get it back on as did'nt have a spring compresser for the rear coil spring, and the the bearing is 120 quid!! Best weekend I had in ages!! :nono:
  16. I was a motorcycle trainer up to Feb and after 17 years of it I could see the way things were going. Most of us would probably fail the Hazard perception test (HPT) as it is wholly aimed at the novice...you probably saw more than was required and clicked too early or at the wrng time!! Dont forget...they are looking for a reaction to a particular hazard not a potential one...I tried this and clickerd like ferk on me mouse....only just scraped through!!! Who gives a sh*t anyway...you passed!! Well done mate...dont sell the zed though!!!
  17. Lost me..... Where do I find em?
  18. I have a 92 TT jap import, bought it a few months ago and the cruise was not working (not that it matters). I was told that as it has been de restricted and this is the reason?? ...has a greddy speed limiter cut controller in the passenger footwell...fuse is OK All lights come on when you switch it on so any ideas as if its there it may as well be working!! Appreciate your help!

When you say juddery are you feeling it through the steering or the braking? I see you say the engine is sweet so can only be brake/steering suspension...although 1 monthe should not be a prob....has some :xxx: undone yer wheelnuts?
  20. Hi Ajay...havent heard anything yet...or am I too impatient!!? Thanks
  21. http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/mc_contents.htm oops....helps to post the link!
  22. Here you go mate...the online mot manual. It should pass as long as it is intact and its not affected in any way. I am NOT an MOT tester though. Why not post a pic of it to see how bad it is..?
