  1. could be a turbo on its way out or a weak PVC valve
  2. The shift kit comes from the states and is designed to raise the line pressure in the gearbox. Basically an auto transmission relies on hydraulic pressure to operate clutch plates, which in turn select the gear via the control valve block and solenoids etc. The clutch plates are like a multi plate clutch on a motorbike alternate steel and fibre plates, which transfer the power of the engine to different clutch assy to give different gear ratios. Now, when these clutch plates start to slip due to either higher engine output or natural wear and tear over time they generate heat and start losing the fibre material from the fibre plates and the AFT oil starts to deteriorate and becomes contaminated blocking the fine mesh filters in the control valve block. No more gears! So to cut a long story short the shift kit raises the hydraulic pressure in the gearbox by means of stronger control valve springs and a few mods making the clutch plate’s grip harder preventing clutch slippage. Thank you all for your kind comments. Maybe I should do this for a living lol.
  3. Might be worth a try. I've got a few jobs to finish first then ill have a word with znut.
  4. Not a Z garage although there are 3 Z's in there atm just a small workshop out in the sticks. I got made redundant about 8 weeks ago so i was thinking about doing a few bits and bobs at my workshop maybe start working for myself. Not a lot of jobs about for a 40 year old engineer atm.
  5. I did this for £1500.00, which included: Fully rebuild Shift kit (rises line pressure minimizing clutch slip) £160 Prep and paint case Re-con torque converter Fouth one i've done now but only the second one i've fitted the shift kit too which is well worth the money.
  6. The box started going the usual way, losing third then not changing at all. I done some fault code checks and then when i checked the oil it was a nice brown burnt colour so defo dead box. This box had complete set of friction plates and springs, re-bushed, new brake band, new filters, seals and gaskets and a shift kit fitted.
  7. Hi peeps, just finished rebuilding my mates auto gearbox and wondered how many of you guys have seen whats inside one so i thought i'd post some pictures... inside main case showing (from left to right) accumulator pistons a,b,c,d and brake band servo. control valve assy. clutch assys as they would be in the case with oil pump on top. case after shot blast and paint. finished and ready to rock.
  8. This might help mate have a read. http://www.noidlight.com/how-to-use-a-noid-light/
  9. bad for the intercooler Al. If the bov's are not dumping the boost when you take your foot of the throttle then depending how much boost your running could pop the intercooler.
  10. Hi Z32, i can get you new injector connectors £7.50 each. all you have to do is cut back the loom and splice in the new connectors. Also if you have a dremel type drill use it to clean up the injector pins.
  11. Try this: Get a long length of fuel hose and connect one end to the fuel filter (the end that goes to the fuel damper on the engine) and put the other end in a bucket or something to catch the fuel. Remove the CAS from the engine. With the CAS plugged into the cars wiring loom and the ignition on slowly turn the CAS spindle. When you turn the spindle you should hear the injectors clicking and there should be fuel being pumped out into the bucket.
  12. Looks cool to me buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttt, if it was my car i would paint the end plates of the spoiler the same colour as the car but thats just me and btw my wife dosent let me choose the colours when we decorate for some reason!!
