  2. i've not been a member for long and new to the forum thing but i must say reading this make sence of forums to me now. I might even show up at the next Halfway House meet if you lot dont mind me bringing the skyline (300 still in the throws of rebirth). nice one Paul
  3. where in Bas vegas are you?
  4. If you got the plenum off then it should be straight forward to remove the EGR to Plenum pipe work from the EGR valve (4 Bolts). If i was doing it i would leave the EGR bolted to the inlet manifold so its solid and drench both ends of the EGR to Exhaust Manifold pipe in Plus gas (Dismantling lub). the EGR side should be straight forward but you might have trouble with the exhaust side if it is completely rusted in. Plan 'B' would be to cut this pipe close to the EGR valve (only thin wall) then crimp it over.
  5. How about getting a great big McDonald's sign that should frighten the hell out of them..
  6. Baz, from left to right in your picture: A/C mounting bracket and idler pulley,Timing belt idler pulley, RH/LH gearbox to engine brackets, Alt mounting bracket and engine mount (cant tell from the picture which side) Also to fit the Alt you will need the adjuster assy and a bloody long bolt with a captured nut arrangement :) I think i may have these parts including the alt if you need then. regards
  7. My workshops in Great Waltham Essex area why dont you bring it down and ill have alook for you.
  8. Bad luck mate. Always the short journeys isn’t it..!!! Sound like you handle the situation very well. Pat on the back for you. Hope you get it sorted.

  10. one on the left is from tt the one on the right is from n/a
  11. Sounds like the box is on its way all right. I have rebuilt loads of these and most of the time it is down to poor line pressure a this in turn allows the clutch plates to slip over time and when they go they usually lose the higher gears first before complete self-destruct. If it were an electronic failure then you would have symptoms like not changing gear at all, pulling away in 2nd etc also flashing diagnostic light on the dash. hope this helps.
  12. Thats gota be the worst looking ferrari ive seen !!
  13. Hi all I’ve been looking into this for a few weeks now and just thought I would ask on here first for your thoughts/suggestions. 1. How much would I expect to pay for an EFI loom? 2. Any companies in the UK making replacement looms for the 300zx? 3. How hard would it be to make my own? All answers much appreciated Thanks
  14. When the RAC guy gets there just tell him to put it straight on the lorry. The turbo blow on my skyline a few years back and when the RAC guy arrived he insisted on removing all the pipe work to check the turbo when you could clearly hear when you revved it up the turbo grinding. Needless to say when I fitted the new turbo some parts were missing presumed left in the pub car park where I broke down!
  15. if you have good oil pressure then 50 mile drive home should be ok just keep an eye on the temp and listen to the engine. could be hy lifters on they way
