Speedo And Rev's Stuck At Full
I presume this was you installing the speedo converter... best bet is to take it all to bits again, and make sure all the connectors are clean. Try waggling the connectors a bit with the ignition on, and you might be able to narrow the fault down. :) Some people seem to have problems with converters but others are fine. Hope you get it sorted!

Phew. Tidlewave
My cousin's out in Thailand too, but likewise he's contacted us to say that he's ok- TFFT. Really, really shocking stuff and this bit's only the beginning- so many areas now without water, food, sanitation, etc- it's gonna get worse before it gets better. My thoughts go out to anyone and everyone involved.

Some Questions
I'm not an expert as you'll recall from my overheating incident! But as far as 2) goes, see Smithy's bit on tubing: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=219960&postcount=1

Another accident (not serious, and non-Zed)
A collegue at work fell foul of the sh!te road conditions last week. Had a bit of lift-off oversteer on a curved bridge and went backwards through/over a chevron sign in his S2000. :headvswal Made a real mess of the rear bodywork and subframe- £8,500 worth of damage according to the workshop. At current prices you could get about 3 Zeds for that! Fortunately he stayed on the bridge, no-one was hurt and no-one else was involved. For those reasons, I feel it serves him right for getting a hairdresser's car! But it could happen to anyone... take care on those roads chaps! Mark

aerial probs
Do a search on the forum for aerials. There's a few people who have installed stick-on things around the front windscreen, which seem to work quite well.

buy a 300zx for a fiver!!!
*But* if he doesn't sell as many tickets for the value of the car, he will give a "cash alternative" to the value of the tickets sold. Alledgedly...

Its Official, our cars are worth f**k all....
(Forgive the back-track...) Wash your mouth out! This may come as a surprise, but I didn't buy my Zed as a financial investment! I bought it because a) It's one of a few cars that give you big bang for small buck (maintenance aside) b) I happen to think it's the best looking and c) I'd always wanted one! :D Bit of a sweeping statement that, and I disagree. Sure Zed parts are expensive, but there are some GOOD specialists out there. It's not a no-brainer, simply a question of priorities :) Anyway, back on-topic, I'm certainly keeping mine for the foreseeable future.

Drinking and Driving
There's an interesting approach used in Australia (or there was when I went there a few years ago...)- many pubs have wall-mounted breathalizers. You pay a token amount (AU$1?) and blow into it, and it tells you how much alcohol is on your breath, and how much is legal. Now there are two *slightly* minus points- 1) People end up having a how-actually-drunk-can-you-get competition (ahem!) 2) The REAL worry is that people drink until they're safe according to the machine. As has been mentioned, actual numbers don't *necessarily* relate to how drunk a person is, and some people reckon it would lead to more drink-related accidents rather than less. Personally, I don't think the 2nd point would actually happen. Also, I wouldn't be against a similar thing being introduced here as if there is an actual legal level then what's the problem with people seeing if they're over it?
