  1. Good to chat with those who were around- a few I hadn't met before. Mark
  2. aaaaaaaaand that's about it
  3. I took a few pics while I was there. Nothing what you'd call exotic, but there were LOTS of really nice motors...
  4. 300mph??? Blimey what mods do you have?! Not quite sure exactly what you're converting to what, but either a converter box or a resistor mod would probably do it.
  5. I'm sure someone said to me that without a spare tyre the AA/RAC won't come and get you. Might be an idea to check your policy type stuff.
  6. I agree. A chavved-up 1.6 Escort was waiting to cross my path this morning- I couldn't see his indicator flashing as it was right next to his illuminated fogs. Mark

One of my local autofactors can supply the oil, but that comes down to luck so just hunt around your area. TBH I've not looked at the technical site myself for oil stuff, but I just used a metal strap filter wrench, and it didn't work very well due to the limited space! And remember to fit the new copper drain plug washer. Mark
  8. Gotta get to it this time! Mark
  9. I reckon if you've never had it checked it's a good idea anyway, let alone if you're having big work done too! The cost will be minimal. Do a search for "compression test", you'll find some good stuff. Here's one with a bit more info... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=54707&highlight=compression+test
  10. My steering rack bushes went causing me similar problems.
  11. Quite possibly me! Just checking a few options out, I'll post back up to confirm. :) Mark
  12. When I was problem-solving my window, having taken the door apart I ran a lead straight from the battery and just shoved 12V to the motor. Worked fine, so the problem was somewhere else!
  13. The click is probably just the relay I'm afraid, so you'll hear it even if the motor's knackered. Had a similar problem on my Z which turned out to be a dry solder joint on the control unit.
  14. Mine had a serious pull to the left, which turned out to be the steering rack bushes fooked. Loads better since then, but I'm sorting out the rest of my suspension before I get the tracking done- in the meantine it has a slight pull to the left.
  15. That'll only be masking the problem! (ECU increases revs when you put the climate on). Good enough to get by, but it's not fixing the problem :( Mark
  16. Could it have burned the motor out? Hopefully not, unless it was shagged anyway. Fuses? Mark
  17. [stands up] My name's Mark, and... I've... never... [sniff] ... been spotted. Ooooh the shame... [sits down] :D
  18. LOL! Anyone got these yet?! http://www.tiretagz.com/product.php# Mark
  19. Cheers karlosg- perfect! Mark
  20. Ok- it's time to start revising my stock Jap suspension setup. :) I'll probably do Eibach springs and stock shocks replacement in the very near future, and new 18" rims later in the year, but I'd like to see what cars look like with Eilbachs and 18 or 19" rims. If anyone's got any pics, please could you post them up, or point me to your rides? Cheers :D Mark

Similar thing happened to me after I'd had a few things fixed and a few other things tweaked- the car was 80bhp up on what it was. Driving on an uphill sliproad to join the M3 (Basingstoke junction), I was overtaking a few cars and a lorry in the right-hand lane. Forgetting for a moment I couldn't drive as aggresively as I used to be able to, full boost came on in 2nd and the back kicked sideways to the right, pointing me towards the lorry. Caught it and got it back straight sharpish, but my missus was a bit quiet for the rest of the journey back. :slap: Valueable lesson, that...
  22. I'll try to make this one! :) It's been ages... Mark
