Hello guys,

My car has just sailed through it's MOT thankfully but I need to change the oil at the weekend. I am going to save some money on garage bills on the basis that this should be about the easiest piece of maintenance. Experience tells me it wont be that simple on a zed - are there any pitfalls?

I looked at the technical site and they said I should use a filler cap socket - is this necessary? Finally, I have looked at the discussions about synthetic oils etc - can I get these at any spares shop or do i have to find a specialist stockist?

One of my local autofactors can supply the oil, but that comes down to luck so just hunt around your area.

 

TBH I've not looked at the technical site myself for oil stuff, but I just used a metal strap filter wrench, and it didn't work very well due to the limited space! And remember to fit the new copper drain plug washer.

Thanks Mate, I have looked at the technical site and even I should be able to do the oil change, I was just concerned about issues such as reaching the parts - I know what a pain in the a*se these can be.
