  1. The only regular meet is Reading, but I can rarely get there :( Other than that, keep an eye on the SE events section... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=88 Occasionally I hear tales of other regular Jap meets in the area (like one in Farnham  ) but I've never been to them.
  2. Hope the leeches didn't get you too much :) Sounds like a good adventure!
  3. Some good inspirational stuff there- thx chaps :)
  4. Blimey that's brave!
  5. An age-old discussion this, but basically yes it does.
  6. That's subtle, but looks pretty good actually! Might not look as good on a black car as the remaining rib wouldn't stand out tho.
  7. Congrats! Dunno about you, but I always feel like an expectant dad waiting for it to be done! lol
  8. Well after a hard afternoon's photoshopping I've come up with pics of the front of my car suitably modded. I'm undecided now, but I actually quite like the ribless ducts without mesh. Obviously there'd need to be something there to stop crap hitting the intercooler. Maybe a coarse black mesh, or some kind or ribs behind the duct? Dunno. Here are the pics anyhoo...
  9. Just an idea I'm toying with, but rather than go all-out on expense for a whole new front-end and potentially be forced into a respray thanks to faded 15-year old "black", I'm thinking of modding my stock front end. Has anyone else cut out the ribs on the intercooler ducts and meshed behind? Possibly have to mesh the main (rad) duct so it all looks right. I'm wondering if it would look any good. So... anyone else done this, and got any pics? Cheers, Mark
  10. Make sure you've got it chipped before you increase the boost- IIRC the stock map tops out at stock boost and you'd therefore be running lean.
  11. Bit of dismantlement required in the first place, then I found it easiest to desolder the resistor from the "right" side and solder in the new one from the "wrong" side. Good luck! Mark
  12. The second thread has a few pics. And one question asked that I can now answer is that UK clocks do indeed have an odometer geared differently, therefore even after you've done the resistor mod the odo will still read km.
  13. A couple of links to threads while I was doing this... I think either those threads or links within them should give you all the detail... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35682 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=36601
  14. Fair 'do's! :) And the fact that that it's just started on telly after our victory has reminded me- the The Italian Job is another good one
  15. Thing is Ronin isn't *all* about cars, it just has unarguably the single best chase sequence ever. Which for me doen't make it the best car film ever- that has to go to Bullitt which is raw, pure driving skill the whole way through. Vanishing point ok but a bit surreal, haven't seen the original Gone in 60s and the remake made me feel sick through the choppy camera work! Bond falls into similar logic as Ronin- some great chases (like Your Eyes Only), but they're only bit-parts. And you should add Le Mans to the list- I haven't seen it, but it's supposed to be a classic! My tuppence :) Mark
  16. I HATE buzzy things that sting you! Snakes, spiders, other stuff that a lot of people don't like are ok by me, but flying insects especially ones that sting, and especially-especially when they get over an inch in length freak me the fook out!
  17. 5 laps in the Lambo, plus all the other cars. It was the Lamborghini Experience I did. Prices and format has changed sligtly since I did it so best to check their website, link's here, and have a browse for the other courses... http://www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/lamborghini.html If you've done much track driving before it may not be as mind blowing- I hadn't and I was buzzing for days afterwards!
  18. A while back I thought I'd make use of my free webspace on NTL. So I bought a book on HTML and another on JavaScript, and a few years down the line I actually have something I'm pretty chuffed with! Basically it's just my own blog site- stuff about me and what I'm interested in. Put a few more touches on today, so I'm considering it pretty much done other than a few tweaks which will be needed to make the navigation a bit tidier. Anyways, considering IT isn't my job and it's all self-taught, I think it's turned out nice! :nana2:  http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mawglobal/index.htm
  19. I was there when it happened... From now on I'll be afraid to look at photos developed of me, now we know who you are and stuff... lol
  20. Rear end is dated huh?! Guess I'm living in the past! Never mind, I still love that car, from end to end! :D
  21. People have probably seen this on Piston heads but here it is again anyway. Personally I think this is what supercars should look like! All your top Ferraris, Lambos, Zondas and Koenigseggs somehow don't quite look as harmonious... http://www.pistonheads.com/roadtests/doc.asp?c=47&i=14074
  22. Awesome cars- I think you should build one and post up your journal on here! Might have to work hard for the world-record spec that got that 0-100-0 tho! Saw a few at the last Piston Heads meet at virginia waters. A very single-minded car.
  23.    Run away!
  24. lol No not yet- was going to do it at the weekend but fell off my mountain bike and did my kidney in. Got 2 weeks in bed before I can do anything :slap: lol
