Anyone using Eibach Progressive PRO-KIT Lowering Springs?
Hey there, Upping my brakes and wheels this month - guessed I should try and sort the suspension too. I was thinking of fitting Eibach PRO-KIT Progressive lowering springs over a set of up-rated dampers. I am looking for opinions from anyone that is using this spring kit and what dampers you have them paired up to. I am NOT looking for a super stiff set up - just a good fast road set up and I am hoping the increase in wheel size along with these springs and a decent set of dampers will give me exactly what I am looking for. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who is using these springs for their opinion. Many Thanks :D - Cyrus

Tyre Sizes for 18" Wheels
Hi There - Me again!! I am upping my wheels from stock to these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-BLACK-SHARK-ALLOY-WHEELS-NISSAN-300ZX-TYRES_W0QQitemZ110451861672QQcategoryZ28648QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BIEW%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D11%26ps%3D63#ht_5550wt_941 The wheels are 8.5 inches on the front and 9.5 on the rear. The tyre sizes they are offering are 235/40/18 on the front and 265/35/18 on the rear. I also want to fit a set of Eibach progressive lowering springs front and rear. Will this tyre and wheel combination fit a JDM '92 LWB without rubbing or rolling the arches? Don't want to order these to find they rub like crazy!! Many thanks in advance - :hyper: -Cyrus

Steamy Windows!!
Hey Guys, I was out for a drive last week. The car had been in stop start traffic for a while and it was a cold wet day. The aircon was running on auto at 24 degrees. Without any warning - all the windows steamed up solid - I couldn't see a thing!! I fiddled with the heater controls and got it to clear using the windscreen demister. I know this doesn't sound like a huge problem but I am crapping myself that its going to happen whilst doing 100 up a motorway at night sometime. It has not happened again and I am wondering if it is something that will get worse with time or that is indicative of a particular fault with the aircon system. Other than this incident the system works fine. In case it helps the car is a '92 JDM LWB TT. Thanks in advance  - Cyrus

Basic Differences between S1, S2, S3 and S4
Me Again!! There may well be a thread on here about this already but I really can't find it! Can anyone explain the fundemental differences between an S1 S2 S3 and S4 z32 TT LWB and can anyone tell me how I can identify which one I have (92 on a J plate if that is a help) I keep seeing cars being broken for parts and never know if they will fit mine or not so this simple piece of info could save me a flippin fortune!! :headvswal

To quote the mechanic: It's f**ked, the whole lot's f**ked.
This is well worth thinking about!! - We all know it is illegal to just dish out an MOT for a dodgy motor and, if you can prove it (with Jeff's help of course) that the damage predated the MOT issue then you will have a really strong case but it will require you fronting them up and threatening to go to VOSA. Their MOT licence is their bread and butter work and VOSA will have it off them as soon as look at them if they think they are putting shifty cars on the street. I may be wrong but I would think they could be charged with criminal negligence to put an unsafe car on the road and if one of those "no win no fee" solicitors would love to get their teeth in to a case like that!!!

Upgrading Brakes - EBC, 3G, DBA (Kangaroo paw) - HELP!!!!!!
 I must say Yassa they look the muts nuts mate!!! do you mind me asking what size rims those have been fitted to? and what pads you are running? - might be out of my price range for now but definitely worth keeping the info for as they seem to have done a stunning job!

Upgrading Brakes - EBC, 3G, DBA (Kangaroo paw) - HELP!!!!!!
That sounds like a really good compromise Shrek and could well take me in the direction I want to end up. Do you mind me asking what disc size DBA's you went for and if you are intending to replace the calipers at some point? if so for what? and what pads do you find work well with these new discs?

got to say that is a work of flippin genius!!

Upgrading Brakes - EBC, 3G, DBA (Kangaroo paw) - HELP!!!!!!
Thanks for the comment and I agree - and I do want to do the callipers soon - just can't do it all at the same time (money money money.... plus the wife will kill me if I spend it all in one go) so I am looking for an upgrade path that I can do in a couple of stages... wheels, tyres and discs first then callipers - does that make things clearer? (yeah .. like mud) To extend this even further - what callipers should I be looking to end up with 4 pots - 6's 8's!! and any particular make/model?

push button start
Why hasn't SOMEONE wired one of these into the top of a gear stick - SOOOOO James Bond!!!

Upgrading Brakes - EBC, 3G, DBA (Kangaroo paw) - HELP!!!!!!
Hi Guys, I currently have stock 16" wheels, discs and brakes on my TT LWB and want to upgrade to a good fast road set up (though be aware I am pretty hard on my brakes). I want a set up with decent "cold" performance rather than feeling like I am braking with two blocks of butter when cold and also that doesn't wear like a bitch!!! Jamie at Zedworld had recommended new EBC rotors and Mintex Extreme pads to fit my standard rims but I was also looking at going up to 18"'s - would that open up the opportunity of using bigger discs? If so what would be the best/biggest I could fit with 18" rims and is there a way of still using my stock callipers (don't have the money to do wheels, discs, pads and callipers at the same time - though not to say I couldn't do callipers at a later date!!) I have read some good things about 3G and DBA discs from Smithy's place - What size should I be looking for with 18" rims? Does anyone here use them and what pads would you pair up for best all round stopping performance? - I am NOT looking for a track set up - just a good fast road set up because at the moment it feels like I am stopping a barge! Please help - there seems to be so much information out there I have no idea what to go for. Thank for all your help as ever!! Confused (as always) - Cyrus

Adjustable Head light beam
Hi Again, I was poking around looking through the windows of some of the cars outside Jeff's at Zedworld and noticed that several of the cars had what appeared to be a headlight beam level control. Is this a retrofit item or a new fitting? Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit it to a JDM '92 TT LWB or does anyone make a control unit that does the same thing? I am guessing I would need to change the headlights too. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance

Hi Again, I was poking around looking through the windows of some of the cars outside Jeff's at Zedworld and noticed that several of the cars had what appeared to be a headlight beam level control next to the wing mirror adjuster in the centre console. Please someone help me before i cry... autobox??
Just wanted to ad my two penneth for what its worth!! I searched for ages for the best condition original Zed I could find and found a real minter... TT LWB Targa in black with full leather interior 48k miles - All original very very clean full UK service history with every receipt and since '92. I drove all the way down to Cornwall to pick it up from Birmingham..... Then while driving it home.. you guessed it... the auto box went pop. Very similar to yours, would get a little drive in 1st and 2nd but would not engage 3rd or up and revs would simply hit the limiter with no power to the rear wheels. I had it towed back to Jeff at Zedworld and he fitted a recon auto box and (touch wood) I have not had a problem since. Now I do drive my cars hard and use this one every day and I have not had a problem with the performance of the auto box but the shift pattern is a bit ponderous and takes its time to kick down. In hindsight I would probably wished I had gone for the manual conversion and I probably will save for it for next year but I don't think you can simply right off a well maintained autobox for day to day use. I would not say it is the best auto in the world but it will get the job done but if you can stretch to it get the manual conversion. Try and get a scrapper to salvage the turbo's and gearbox from (harder than you might think as usually one or other of them is at fault) and try and fit the turbos yourself if you can manage it and get the manual box fitted proffesionally. Or talk to Jeff at Zedworld and get on the list (behind me) for a manual conversion but don't dispair - the auto is really not that bad if you can find a goodun'!!

Suspension Advice and set up
Thanks for that Munny - The HSD's look cool and I will look into that As far as the weight loss goes this is my daily drive at the moment and I do too many miles to lose my leather, aircon and spare!! I guess I am a "have your cake and eat it " kinda guy (lol) On that note, I used to have a supercharged E39 M5 and I have never had a 1900Kg car that was so agile!! You gotta hand it to those guys from Munich - they do get iy right some times!! As far as having an LSD - I have just remembered that my rear rubber is shot hell so that is probably why I can't feel it working properly

ABS removal
I completely agree with the last three posts 10000 % I have raced and driven most fast road cars in my time and, on the road, there is no better option than a well setup ABS system. This is a (relatively) heavy powerful car - sooner or later you will need to emergency stop it and you cannot cadence brake as fast as an ABS system can - SIMPLES!!!!! If all you are doing is using the car on track days then you can go for a high temperature - high wear setup that will stop you on a penny but that is completely impracticle for road use - you simply won't be generating the brake temperature to make it work properly. Hence the need for ABS. Get your ABS working properly and fit some Mintex or Greenstuff pads along with some grooved or dimpled rotors - you will stop like a brick wall and won't regret it.

Suspension Advice and set up
Hi Guys, Need to pick your brains again - I am running a '92 TT Targa LWB Auto. Engine has been chipped and remapped (with SS Freeflow Nisstek Exhaust + induction kit soon) and is being worked on to get me a reliable 340Bhp. I currently still have the HICAS set up working and am running on stock 16 inch rims. I want to tie down the handling a bit more as it just feels a bit detached and cumbersome through the twisty stuff though it does feel very secure at speed. Also I am getting a little bit of vibration under hard braking . I am looking to move to 18" rims to take out some side wall flex but would also look to a new suspension set up and am looking for some direction as I have no clue what to go for. 1) What suspension set up will give me that rare combination of firmer fast cornering while retaining a lot of the suppleness of the original set up (road surfaces around here are crap and I don't want a teeth chattering ride for the other 90% of my driving!!) This is my daily drive so this is important. 2) Will moving to 18" rims tighten the ride up enough? 3) Should I be looking to lock out the HICAS and what is the best way to go about doing it? What effect will this have on the handling? 4) Is there a LSD for the 300ZX and is it any good? I was looking for Jeff at Zedworld to do the work as I trust his work implicitly but would listen to any recommendations if there is a suspension "guru" out there. I am looking for a well balanced set up - not just to drop the car into the weeds - I am also NOT loking to make the car unusably stiff and understeery - Any help and recommendations will be gratefully received.

Car pc users
Joel - sorry to hijack this thread but can I ask how your pc set up is controlled and what you can use it for? Can you use any screen? Does it have mobile Internet access? Would love to know as I think it would be really useful to have a similar set up in my zed but wouldn't want to lose my Dvd player.
