Got myself a manual box, what other bits do i need for conversion? Please
I don't know if this is a help or a hindrance but this was the list Jeff gave me to have mine done a couple of weeks ago. The kit was from a Jap TT going to my Jap TT Auto. I have absolutely no idea if the list from a NA would be different but maybe someone here could oblige: 1) Gearbox (doh!!) 2) Clutch Pedal and Booster 3) Master and Slave cylinder + Slave Hose 4) Flywheel 5) Flywheel bolts x 9 6) Gear Stick selector, gear knob and leather gaiter 7) Gear Selector floor plate 8) Both upper and lower rubber gaiters 9) Propshaft both sections with propshaft bearing bearing (please try to avoid breaking down the propshaft as it is evidently balanced as a single piece. If you do have to break it to remove it, Jeff asked if you could mark the joint with a line of tippex or similar across the joint so he can tell how it was oriented when fitted otherwise he will have to rebalance it before fitting) 10) Clutch 11) Clutch Cover bolts 12) All Gearbox bolts 13) Clutch pedal 14) Balancer bar with outlet vacuum for slave cylinder Like I said, I don't know how the parts compare with what you would get from a NA but I am sure someone could fill in any changes. Xmas bash thank you
Just wanted to say an ENORMOUS thank you to Jeff Jamie and Linda for a wonderful day and a fun opportunity to meet other people on the forum. Good fun was had by all and I will be posting a link shortly with a couple of snaps from the day in a separate gallery. It must have taken a lot of effort to organize and we should all thank Jeff and family for their wonderful hospitality and fantastic food. It is events like this that make Zed ownership so special and Jeff and everyone at Zedworld have delivered BIG TIME. Many Many Many thanks - Cyrus...... ....... P.S. Does this kind of sucking up get me any kind of discount!!?:clap::clap::slap:

Chrome Plating Plenum
:sleeping:Yeah, but I heard that polishing can dull drastically with time and needs a lot more mantainance and I am fundamentally lazy!!! I had already found these guys who quoted £450!! to polish to the standard in the pic (full concourse standard) though they could do it for £150 if you did not need such a high level of finish on the centre branches which are covered by the throttle cover anyway. http://www.gspolishing.co.uk/car-and-engine-bay/pages/C017%20NISSAN%20300ZX%20PLENUM%20POLISHED%202.html But Chroming seems cheaper and gives a more durable finish as far as I can tell. (please let me know if I am wrong) but I am just weighing up my options. I know that Leigh(friday) had done some stunning polished plenums before (from what I have seen in other threads) and I hope that he might be willing to take on another one on.

Chrome Plating Plenum
Hi There - I have seen some wonderful examples of chrome plated plenums around and I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations for a company that could chrome plate mine? Do I need to do any prep work before the plenum goes off to them? Does it need to be polished BEFORE going for plating? This may be a stupid question but do they plate the inside of the plenum as well? Do I need to worry about chrome build up in the threads or on the gasket areas? Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks in advance - Cyrus

wheel alignment - fast road setup
I am booked in with Chris at "Center Gravity" (be careful how you spell it) in Warwickshire - just down the road from Zedworld. http://www.centergravity.co.uk/ I am having a full geo suspension set up and they are fitting a new Tein EDFC kit for me as well. Every review i have read about these guys says they are absolute miracle workers. Mine is going in on the 30th and 31st (Just in time for the New Year!!). Be careful as they book ages in advance. Hope this helps - Cyrus

Farce book
It will take a while for the Google search-bots to read and digest all the available Facebook pages so it could just mean that they hadn't got to yours yet (it can take weeks because they go though every web page on the net on a regular basis) I have just changed my settings and will keep them that way - in fact I am thinking of canning Facebook altogether as they seem to have lousey privacy settings.

Fitting a new gear knob and Gaiter.
Hi Guys, This may sound like a daft question but does anyone know how to fit a gaiter to the bottom of a shift knob so it isn't lose and slips down? There has to be a way of attaching it so it looks stock but I'll be bugg**d if I know how!! A point in the right direction would help. Many Thanks Cyrus - :blushing::blushing:

clutch pedal issues
I have EXACTLY the same problem - I am taking it to Jeff's in the morning to get it looked at and will report back. Makes smooth changing very difficult - If anyone can point us in the right direction I would appreciate it.

We're all scr***d in the UK!
This country has gone to the dogs. I work hard - employ people - make a good living - pay tax on my profits - pay tax on my sales - pay tax on my income - pay employee NI - pay employer NI..... and this work shy freeloader gets a £2.6 million pound pad because she couldn't keep her legs crossed or work hard enough to support the HUGE family she has created. Take her kids off her and stick her in a bedsit until she can earn enough to look after the family she is dumping on the state!!

Words fail me
I feel so sorry for this guy - can't believe the judge passed this sentence - it's a disgrace. I've been in a similar situation (I was mugged by three guys - at least on with a knife) and I was arrested on suspicion of GBH because I fought back and hospitalised all three. to the point where at least one couldn't testify. I got off though without trial because the police saw sense at least! This is a freakin' nightmare - I don't understand why it could not be assumed that there were reasonable grounds for fear of reprisals which is why he chased them and ensured they could not come back!!! Sounds like more nanny state bull**** to me. Kick their as* and don't look back I say!!!

How to Mount Rectangular controllers....
good idea but these controllers are bigger than that - anybody else have any ideas? Possibly fitting them inide the glove box? or in the recess under the stereo?

How to Mount Rectangular controllers....
..... without just sticking them on top of the dial pod!!! Does anybody have some pictures or suggestions of where/how to mount any rectangular shaped controllers for stuff on the Zed without shed loads of custom work? I am about to have a Tein EDFC controller fitted and will be getting Racelogic TC in the new year with the digital controller and I already have an HKS Turbo timer. All of these have different shaped Rectangular controllers that need to be mounted neatly somewhere. Round dials are no problem - rectangular ones sem to be a nightmare! I want to avoid the "pile of controllers taped to the top of the dial pod" look. Does anyone have any pictures or examples of how you guys have solved this problem? Any details of where you bought any cowlings etc would be useful too. Thanks in advance guys and gals!! Cyrus :dance::dance:
