If it was the PTU wouldn't it at least turn over? - It only had a new battery a week ago but then was immediately left standing for 5 days while the gearbox was being changed - would it discharge in that much time?

OK.. anyone who has seen my other threads will know this is getting annoying now!! - Only owned the car a week and needed an new gearbox and overheated last night. Went out to the car this morning and it won't start at all - getting lights on the dash and I can here the Hicas adjusting but when you turn the key - NOTHING - doesn't even turnover!! I have tried resetting the imobilser still no joy. Anybody have any ideas!! (please don't say new starter motor or I am likely to shoot myself) Regards - Cyrus

I think the only two stock gauges I have are oil pressure and turbo pressure - no water gauge that I can see - Sorry

I have also had a HEAT problem which I have just posted in this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=129104&referrerid=15732 Although this may be "normal" is there a way to significantly improve the cooling as driving around with the air conditioning off seems a bit of a cop out. (Especially on a hot day in stationery traffic!!) Any ideas guys? - Cyrus

I can only agree with Pervez - Jeff and Jamie at Zedworld are the absolute TOPS in my book - They are so helpful and knowledgable. Trust them with your life (or even worse... with your Zed!!) Great work guys!!

Hi Guys, Finally picked up my 1st Zed on Saturday and had a couple of problems. ('92 Auto Twin Turbo LWB Jap import with Silvia Engineering chip (330Bhp) and HKS Turbo Timer) In case it matters, the gearbox on this car has literally just been changed for a reconditioned unit by Jeff at Zedworld. I had been driving the car, stop start for most of the day but after a particularly spirited drive in the afternoon, I stopped at a petrol station to find light wisps of smoke coming from under the bonnet and into the cabin through around the air ducts (very light, but enough to worry me) and the car electrics were completely dead. Now I discovered, one of the battery terminals was loose so any fan etc that was meant to be running directly off the battery wasn't (to the point where I had no electrics to start the car!). I have tightened the battery terminal but am now concerned about driving the car fast again incase the engine catches fire!!! Engine oil temp seemed fine and I drove home without a problem - radiator coolant was full - It might have been hot brakes as my brakes are stock and there were a couple of big stops from 3 figure speeds just before I pulled up but when I lifted the bonnet these wisps of smoke took a good minute or so to disappear. Any suggestions of other things I might check? I must apologise if you guys think I am worrying about nothing but I am a complete NUMPTY when it comes to engine electrics. Having just bought the car and done the gearbox change cash is a bit tight (isn't it for everyone!!) but I will take it back to Jeff if I can't come up with anything here because I am sure he can sort it out (best garage in the world!! - Zedworld!) Sorry - pressed return before asking a question!! - a lovely blackk TT Targa 92 Auto I need a replacement rear boot lid sticker (the Nissan Fairlady Z sticker) and I was wondering if anyone knows an easy way to convert the rear lap belts to proper 3 point belts (need to strap a baby seat in them!!) If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks in Advance
