  1. Lee, it's the later OBD-II 16 bit ECU you have. Not too many people seem to know too much about it. I have a contact in japan who can get it done for you, or JWT do it. I believe it replaces a surface mount EPROM with a daughter board and a 40pin 27C1024. Cheers
  2. Finally picked it up today, good to be back in a zed must say :D :D Cusco diff's a feckin nightmare on the road though
  3. Yep, hopefully be the first outing for my new car :D
  4. Yeah, you can do everything the gadgets can do. The gadgets just fiddle the signals. Super AFR will affect timing as well as fuelling on a Z32 ECU, but nobody ever mentions that - load scale is based on AFM voltage, so as you tweak it, you move the access points up the scale on fuel AND timing maps. For dual pop (1 real, 1 dummy MAF) double K value, tweak bottom end of VQ table to give smooth idle and it's done. I can show you maps with this done if you want. Probably try it on mine now I've got an emulator.
  5. Chris, have you considered something like Ash's Zemulator or just a basic Eprom emulator. You can do all the stuff those plug in gizmos can do then just burn a ROM from the code once you're happy. You can get a romulator for around £150
  6. Crap stock brakes All the soggy rubber and silicone in the suspension.
  7. I'm with Ian on this one, don't use cast spacers, they are prone to brakage. Syko racing made mine up from HE30 blank stock. Rough guide is that you need 1.5x the stud diameter engaged in the nut to hold properly
  8. Wasn't quite as cheap at the other one, but still got a pretty good discount. TBH, it was worth the extra. The other one's a bloody nice car too but this one is just a bit better :D
  9. Went and bought a new Z today, the '93 blue SWB from Jap City. Hopefully picking it up next week :D :D
  10. Hi, A finnish guy I know is having problems accessing the forum since it's been updated. His username is PetriK, email petri.karjalainen@pp.inet.fi Any chance you could check it out. He has deleted all cookies, temp internet files etc. Cheers
  11. I think they'll go under 17's but it might be tight, 18's definately work. Biggest problem is with the wheel offset, the callipar is pretty big so with some wheel designs it will hit the inside of the spokes.
  12. Oi Berkely, I'll be getting another one soon, twat ;)
  13. Just a possibility ..... Depends if I can find the right Z first!
  14. Anyone got the link for a good RX-7 website ? Cheers

I think it's still available but never actually seen it. Just remember that the bussiness end is an xtronics romulator, so it's not recommended to use it as a permanant replacement for a chip, just get the map right then burn it to an EPROM. Any idea how much it costs?
  16. I'll turn up! No zed yet so promise to park round the back!!
  17. Sure they were 1.2 but you might be right. Think the reasoning was it might spike to over 15psi without a proper controller, so just set it to 12 to be safe.
  18. Pete, thought we put 1.2 in yours!
  19. There's a tech article on TT net about alternative locations for the Det sensor. A hell of a lot easier than replacing it in the stock location.
  20. Either replace the ECU chip or fit a speedo converter chip if your speedo's haven't had new faces fitted.
  21. TBH I if I could afford it I'd buy a Noble or a ferrari but the Z was the best thing I could afford and they are fantastic cars. Just got to be realistic about how good they really are. Reckon you just have to look at what you want from it really, sure if you want it just for image buy a DB7 or a porsche if you want something that a bit more hardcore buy a ferrari etc. Or just sod what other people think and keep it because you want to!
  22. I always liked the way these looked (sob) :(
  23. Was just thinking it's best to have a dummy MAF in there to simulate the pressure drop through the standard one. It might be significant at big airflows. I was just going to use a bust one I had on the other side. Don't know if a unichip will help with this, depends how it senses load I suppose. Think the one I looked at for the 205 was rpm vs throttle angle on the maps, but that's not ideal for a turbo car as it makes no allowance for different boost pressures. TBH if you learn to tweak it the ECU can do all the things these gadgets can do much better, just buy an emulator and play with it, it's cheaper too!
  24. If it had racing stripes down the middle it was probably a challenge stradale model. Little more power, lot more hardcore, better suspension and the best exhaust note ever. Tried it on with a standard one once and he must have carried 20-30mph more through some of the bends than me. I was all over the place and it just cornered dead flat, was embarrasing really!
