4 Page ROM
Tested this today on Pete Shrimp's car and it works OK, switches maps on the fly no problem. Slight downside is that the car dosen't stop when you turn the ignition off :o I suspect a diode or 2 may be required but can't see where at the minute! Any ideas?

Another VB Question
Anybody know what object / API call to use in a VB project to bring up a browse window then return the path/file name to the code? Sure I've done it before but can't remember! CheerZ

4 Page ROM
Smart arse! Never thought of that. Oh well, nearly done the prog now. Got some validation & stuff on it anyway to check all the code versions are the same

Well I've got a new car!
If you ever want to throw an Mi16 in it give me a shout. Did loads of them and it totally transforms the car. Better economy, power and smoothness, there is no downside other than insurance.

Four-page EPROM
I'll call mine the "Pointless 4 page Map with no car to put it in EPROM" Still, it'll be ready for when I get one at this rate! I'll order the bits next week and see how I get on with it.

Four-page EPROM
After kind of stealing Si's idea, and talking to him about it, I'm going to make a daughter board to take a 27C1001 and run 4 maps. Shouldn't be too hard to do in theory.

Serial Port Access From VB?
Anyone know how to write/read the serial port of a PC from Visual Basic / VBA? I'm trying to write some real time mapping software but need to be able to write to the serial port to do it. CheerZ

R34 Brembo Brakes
Sitting doing nothing because someone crashed my motor :( Just waiting to go on a new one though :D Iain, did you have to put spacers in the callipars for the 30mm disks?
-
R34 Brembo Brakes
Yeah, sure they're 330mm, I can measure them if you want as they're sitting in my garage doing nothing :(

Just Crashed my car!
Sorry to hear that Mike, at least it's only cosmetic though. Hope it's sorted soon

R34 Brembo Brakes
Ammar, Difference is only the callipar mounting bolt diameters. To fit to a ZX you need to drill the holes in the hub carriers out to 14mm and bend the pipes slightly. Also need to flatten the edge of the original dust shields or remove them. They are 330m, Johnny at GPS can sort you out with grooved ones. Original are plain & VERY expensive (£580+VAT ea!!) CheerZ

How much boost?
I'm sure I read on TT net that there's no point taking the stock blowers past 17psi as they become very inefficient. Any gain you get in air density from the higher pressure is offset by the fact it's heated up more. Might be worth doing a search on there and see what you can turn up on the subject. FWIW, the stock injectors are at >97% duty cycle on the JWT map at ~13psi which is where their map runs off the load scale, so as you boost more the mixture will get leaner. Never found it a problem at 15.5psi, even with the AFR lowered to 11.2 from 10.1 that JWT use.

ConZult
The little black box interprets the serial data the ECU sends from the diag port but I think there are also some hadshaking signals sent back. There is an alternative to the conZult being developed at the minute, so may be worth holding off for that to come out before making a decision. There's also that Zemulator thing.
