Steve, you can unbolt the boxes and remove the packing if you want. It's surprisingly loud from outside when it's opened up though.

    Pleased you liked it Steve
  3. Not all modded ECU's are socketed, some tuners eg JUN, MINES solder a new chip in then cover it in epoxy. To be sure, lift the daughter board and then see if the chip has a blue and white sticker with a number on it - if it does it's stock.
  4. Dunno Steve, with the weather we're having you might want to keep those snow tyres :D I've never seen 4x4 tyres on a Z before, bizzarre
  5. Ive got 235 front, 255 rear and it's really nicely balanced at that. I'd be careful about putting too wide on the rear, it'll probably start to wash out at the front then.
  6. No problem, just remember to leave your wallet again :p
  7. The rear subframe ones are a bugger to do. Got to drop the subframe, dismantle it, cut/press out the old bushes and fit the new ones, need to make a puller for the rear diff ones too. I'd allow a full day to do it with a 2 post ramp and press. Well worth doing, though there is a bit more noise in the car. Especially if you've got a clattery plate diff like me :D The rhs steering rack one is a pain too, very tight access and loads of pipes in the way, I ended up dropping the subframe to do it.
  8. Sorry to hear it mate, happened to me a couple of years back too - hope you get something sorted.
  9. Is this for your neons then Pete
  10. Yeah, be fine. Just ordered a couple from MJP. Still a PITA to get to though!
  11. Tried to fit new lambda sensors yesterday and when I removed the sensor, the whole boss that screws into the manifold came out. Not too much of a problem except when I tried to separate them, the sensor stripped - all the threads were welded to the boss. I guess the moral of the story is it's probably worth having a spare boss if you want to replace the sensors.
  12. Never know Pete, you might be able to avoid those roundabouts now
  13. The balance bar will just about equalise the pressure, but one turbo's running harder than the other. I'd imagine the fuel distribution won't be great either as the system is designed for equal flow through both throttle bodies with no real flow through the balance bar. Also, the pressure won't be dead equal on both sides as at high flows the DP across the balance bar will be higher.
  14. TBH Leigh, probably the clutch slave cyl or master cyl failed. Look for leaks around them.
  15. Probaby the diff oil cooler pump if it's a UK model. Don't know if autobox fluid is pumped through the cooler by an electric pump ?
  16. Tempting as a runner, but I'd just end up modding it too!
  17. Yeah, mine ended up with 230bhp at the wheels. Was undrivable!
  18. 205Gti + Mi16 engine for about £1000, best laugh you'll ever have in a FWD car :D
  19. Nigel, I've got one you can have if you give me your address.
  20. Greddy Profec E01 is excellent, can't understand what features it's missing??
  21. Must admit, I hate most of the aftermarket bumpers but that looks brilliant :D Any idea of the cost including the lights?
  22. Same questinon here Jeff ...
  23. Well I am a control engineer, LOL. I have had both though, so easy to make the comparison.
