Jap City?
Yeah. He is having it fixed though, was quite badly damaged.

Jap City?
Not mine. There were 2 that were identical other than the wheels. The other one got nicked and badly smashed on the day it was bought

Jap City?
Yeah, I bought it :D

Anyone able to pop out to their Z?
Blitz DSBC fits if you take the edges off a bit.

TPS and Boost
The EGR valve is at the back of the engine, in the middle just above the g/box. It's a bugger to get to, I think replacement is a g/box or plenum off job - not too sure because I've never tried it!

TPS and Boost
Sounds like a leak somewhere if your gauge is reading 0 on idle, should be well negative. Chack all the small vacuum hoses around the plenum. Maybe the EGR valve - I think that's a diaphram valve and prone to leaking - not sure how it normally fails though.

Your thoughs on Turbos please
In a straight line, the 350Z is significantly quicker round a track.

creaking from brakes
Try replacing the shims behind the pads with new ones, it cured it on mine when I had stock callipars.

Oil gauge - mechanical vs electric
I'd go for electrical every time. People I've spoken to in the past all reckon mechanical are better but I think that's just a hangover from the days before electrical were reliable. At work all the pressure instruments we have are electrical and apparently they're much more accurate and reliable than the old pneumatic/mechanical ones.

boost controler help needed
What's that, haven't come across it?

boost controler help needed
Don't think the Blitz does anything the Profec dosen't TBH. and the boost control dosen't seem to be as tight. The power ID is OK, but a bit pointless IMO, dosen't really do anything particularly useful.

Steve, go for the Greddy Profec (I showed you it in my car). Very good control, nice features and the best display I've seen so far.

Jwt Ecu
You won't need to retard the timing with the JWT. It's stupid rich and very retarded at the top end.

Early model engines
I think there was a problem with the bore for the CAS being off centre on certain years (1990??) so the CAS keeps breaking. Try a search on TT net, I'm sure it was on there I saw it.

Rolling Road - 24th January 2004
Anita, do you want the cash now, or can we still pay on the day? Cheers

What Car for 20K
Lol, I can see what you mean, but I actually quite like it other than the back end. Just get a bit frustrated with the ZX sometimes. Don't get me wrong it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it, but you're just always aware of the momentum when you're trying to change direction quickly.

What Car for 20K
Noble's what I'm after next. The Z's just too lardy to ever be a really great handler. Might take a while to save though

Your thoughs on Turbos please
The JWT aren't just strengthened stock, as you say, they have bigger compressor wheels in a ground housing. They do a 530BB which is a ball bearing, apparently good for 500RWHP (American so call it 430?!) with less lag than stock. Don't know about price though. I'd personally go for those as they're pretty well proven on the Z and the mods needed to get the best from them are well known.

bushes replacement
There are a few that are a nightmare to fit: Rear subframe and diff ones: need to drop the subframe and strip it down then press them out, usually cut the second set of inner sleves then press them out. Need to make a puller to get the diff ones in too. Front RHS Steering Rack one: Have to drop the subframe a bit to get to it and there are loads of pipes and stuff in the way. The front ones are all pretty easy if the arms come off OK, although you do have to burn out the ones in the arm as the new ones re-use the old inner sleeve. Don't try tp press these or you'll squash the arm and ruin it.

Baby Shrimp due
Congrats to you and Emma mate, hope it all goes well for ya. Shame about the Z, but at least I won't have any more scary test drives after doing stuff on it
