  1. Cheers Guys. Been working on the V8 all day so off for a few :duffer:
  2. Good luck with the business mate, hope it works out well after the crap you had with grasshopper!
  3. Yes, that should do it.
  4. Nah, they're both on address lines, board and jumper layout maybe just makes it look like that. Used resistors for soft pull down then opto switches up.
  5. I think 512 is the biggest that's pin compatible with the 256 layout. For the 1001 I made a daughter board with 2 opto isolators to switch the 2 MSB address lines.
  6. I've got one that uses 1001 EPROMS I used to use before I had an emulator. Can sell you that if you want it.
  7. Toluene works on normal mastic, not sure about that stuff.
  8. Yep, reckon another 15 years aught to do it :o
  9. Cheeky b******d! My photos are not as good because I don't get as much practice when I'm snapping other people working  :D BTW, our flanges and sump flanges are done now and sump plates all pressed ready for assembly :D
  10. Oddly enough, got an exhaust bypass valve to go on mine. Will bypass the silencer to an open tailpipe past about 4000rpm and > 1/2 throttle so might need them just for that yet!
  11. Might be a chev but doesn't look as big as the LS6 big block I put in the boat. Castings are all ali too.
  12. Yeah, wish it could have been running. Going to go see it race when its back together though so better get some earplugs!
  13. Was over at Leon's today looking at a few things for the V8 conversion. He had this Chevron historic racecar in his workshop. Its running a 900bhp yank V8 and Leon was just finishing off the new exhaust system. Its a proper work of art, made in 321 stainless which is a bugger to work with. Apparently there is 200 hours work in them!! Internal view of collectors, notice the peak to ensure minimal flow disturbance as the streams join, very few people will go to those lengths. Edit: Photos not working, will attach as thumbnails!
  14. Hi graeme, some night next week mate, got a bit going on this weekend!
  15. I'm in Kidderminster if you want me to have a look drop me a PM. Not on line much at the minute so may take a few days to reply!!
  16. Pretty sure when I checked this out some of the injectors were on different connectors on the 96+ and the oddball hybrid (95-96?) were the same as the early ones. Could be wrong though. Sure Eric will know if he reads this. Might be you wouldn't notice the injector sequencing being off anyway, not sure when/if the switch from sequential to batch is made but likely to be sequential on idle I'd have thought.
  17. Not sure if they've done many 300s but scholar produce some really top end race motors. You could be pretty sure they'd do a good job I would think.
  18. That's just not true but a very common misconception. Simply if a ported cylinder head gives 20% extra power on a N/A engine it will also give 20% extra power on a turbo'd engine (as long as the turbos etc can meet the flow demands). May even be more once the heat drop is taken into account from running the turbos at a lower boost pressure to achieve the same cyl filling.
  19. Will do some as the Zclub days are a good laugh. Will be crap though TBH as I want it for the twisties and not prepared to sacrifice enough to make it a good drag car. Doesn't really interest me seriously enough
  20. Its a VH45DE out of a Q45 saloon. Also used in the Cima and pathfinder I think. Yes, it uses chains for the cams, one chain for each side.
  21. Cheers guys, can't wait to get really started on it now! With a bit of luck it might actually run in 2007 :x:
  22. Seem to remember it will also drop into the balancing holes on the web. There is only one that feels tight though which should be the right one.
  23. Engine all assembled other than pump mounts and covers
  24. Also, try not to match the exhaust ports exactly to the manifold. Ideally you want the manifold at the top edge to be a few mm bigger than the port to kill any reversion.
  25. Demon Tweaks do them Mark. Kinda handy for you!
