  1. A man after my own heart. The other day I decided to nip down to Eton post office to post out some dvds. I double parked on Eton hight street while the blondie lunchbreak co-driver ;) nipped in to do the honours, blondie jumped back in the car (drum and bass playing). Meanwhile there was a large gang of students (foreign I think) walking on the other side of the road. One of the lads was just staring at the car or maybe the girl and couldnt take his eyes off it. You can guess what happened next eh! You're right- walked straight into a lampost. I think I heard the gong as his head bounced off it. Poor lad was so dazed, he staggered out into the road and nearly got side swiped by a bus! I think the poor lad was very embarrased :o - we were laughing and all his mates too. Just another instance of the zed effect
  2. he he - some good stories from Zevans. Lets hot this thread up a bit- Lets have your most severe injuries in relation to Zeds- could be working on zeds, driving or just like Zevans getting ya Tesco bags out. I wait for replies in anticipation :hyper:
  3. nah I guess ya right. She looks quite nice with a coat of polish, but got the odd dink, scratch, scuff etc. She also runs well, but know that every moving part is tired, autobox lazy, bushes need doing, shockers, hoses, working my way through the engine slowly. Hopefully Baggins will tell me whats what there. Just gotta look at it as long term project and hope she dont let me down in the meantime as its me daily drive. p.s. I love my IT job, get to chat up totty, totty and more totty all day long. Lifes great aint it! :)
  4. thanks for putting my mind at rest. I'm not the criminal I thought I was. I guess if we drive cars this way, make sure they're old bangers not worth nicking :)
  5. I should have made this a poll: Yes, No and Wouldnt like to comment. But as most lads here like to have a go on the spanners, I bet most have been bitten by the bonnet?
  6. Who's ever done this then: ? Enjoyed the sunshine with roofs off, got to work and looked like black clouds so thought better had put the roof on, popped the boot, bent in to grab the first roof and CRACK! Smacked me head right on that pokey out bit on back of tailgate. Shite that hurt! Still on a good note, my head hurts so much now, I've forgotten all about my stomach ache. Let that be a lesson- open boot fully before going in! ...now thinking evil thoughts on how I can get my own back on the zed :slap:
  7. Was just coming off at Slough west when glanced in me side mirror and spotted dark coloured zed continuing down M4 towards Slough central around 08:40. Shame I didnt get time to poke my  out at you! :)
  8. ALZ 9 - £5000 too much :slap: ALZ 3071 £450 more like it  But I think I will just make do with ALZ discount tax disc holder
  9. Well put it this way, I've started using my credit card for petrol   :( Thieving chancellor b^stad- ggrrrrr
  10. Dance music, hip-hop, pirate radio stations, Jazz FM.well I gotta exercise the bass bin aint I! I do however have a copy of Led Zep II in the car- see I dont listen to shite music all the time  Looking forward to building my new mdf efforty thing. Will be stripping down my other decent bass bin as its too big for a zed boot.

Cheers Def Right, we got some good notice this time so lets get some zeds down there. Should be there early as not doing any lates for 3 weeks :)
  12. May give it a look in on Sun if the missis lets me go out to play and if I have recovered from the London to Brighton previous week.
  13. My misses is ok on mways upto about 80, but its the country roads that get her- I'll go round a nice sweeping bend at about 50 which is slow driving for me and she'll be have a total paddy thinking we're about to loose it! :slap: One day I'll just flip and drive like a nutter and say- thats nearly loosing it!!
  14. Good man John-Boy- shame I cant offer you a beer at billing. Next event eh! I do always feel uncomfortable asking for sponsorship as being skint myself, its hard to give up hard earned cash. So I just ask a quid which people can find down the back of the sofa. I done the same for my workmates asking just the quid. It does mount up after a while. My missies has sponsored me £25 from her website http://www.delicates.co.uk (plug). Hope I dont have to wear a thong!!
  15. oh!! I drove my old mans seat toledo for 2 weeks while my z was off the road. He had no insurance on it at the time. That means me's a criminal !! Bloody lucky as was going down the 404M in the Seat doing nearly a ton and hit a crow- went straight into the windscreen. Luckily it didnt smash, but could have all ended in tears if I had lost it a bit and clipped something. My Dad however was not very impressed when I gave back the car with blood up the windscreen
  16. yep true- the novelty will ware off mighty quick down here in silicon valley
  17. Thanks for that shaunmac, will wait for my trembling hand to stop and have a go
  18.  he he- so I take it you cant go for a shag in the back while Kit takes over
  19. yea, it was interesting listening to the engine constanly changing over hills bridges etc. Even kicked down a gear at one point.
  20. Is yours not working, purposely removed or was it like that without the option when new?
  21. Been having such good fun in me new zed for the past 4 months, I have only just got round to using that cruise control thingy. Its quite cool trying to get the knack of driving it without the accelerator - instead just using the controls on the steering wheel. Not too great for the M4 on the way home rush hour. Anyone else love their cruise? Daft question I know, but I'm bored at work. p.s. can you up the speed? I cant get the cruise to go past 70mph. Probably the jap setup I guess.

in power mode it also lets you get all of the revs all the way up to about 7000rpm before it changes up although I only use that in emergencies (BMW M3 in rear view mirror  )
  23. Yea, me hope to trundle up to Billing sometime Sat- barbie, drinking, camping, lake throwing etc then sunday chilling. Thanks again and for the words of respect. Its been a long time since I done something like this- last one was 10 years ago Birmingham to Oxford- 72 miles. Got burnt and exaustion and was not on this planet after that one. Could be interesting 10 years on 5 million :duffer: and 68 million fags. :(
  24. I normally use Hi-Q in Slough- if you go on their website you can print off a £10 discount voucher. I dont like them too much, but if its cheap and you get a pass, then why not. Not sure if they are National
