a chip removes the limiter on the speedo so instead of buying a speedo convertor that has a habit of interfeering with the sensitve speed sensor it enables the limiter to be removed, and may- depending on the chip also increase the rev limiter slightly stay away from the cheap chips on ebay allthough one of the mebers on here sells them on ebay and the chip is fine IIRC as the chip is socketed in to your ECU and needs to be soldered in,unless it has been done already,a good tv/auto electrician can fit one,but i wouldnt recomend you do it yourself,as its very fiddly and can be expensive if you damage the ECU
  5. there is usualy a bit of play in the arm at the jointed end,but if play is excessive then replacement is needed, they come in two parts the ball jointed end! and the tie rod itself which connects to the hicas itself
  6. are you doing it yourself or with two? makes life easier if one presses pedal whilst the other collects the fluid and locks of the nut whilst the pedal is compressed or you still have a leak/or air air getting in
  7. same scenario as increasing boost that little bit extra strain is added to an already old worn turbocharger-therefor its likely to fail more rapidly im not an autobox specialist, but would imagin the hks alc would put a worn box under even more pressure and shorten life
  8. td05 16gs is correct also when they were fitted custom oil lines were made for the turbo feeds! as the housing was to big to accomadate the stock oil feeds so yes i can say they are td05 16gs.which you should of been told when you bought the car ;) capable of 22psi not a problem, although with that rear diff anymore power is overkill  :D
