to be on the safe side a trailer would be a safer option a small knock can get worse and damage more bearings or at worse crank rods etc i work at z tech, but depending where you are in the country we do offer a pickup service, but if your with the AA or RAC then you can get it done for free if you say your broke down somewhere greg
  3. mr minit FFS  there to expensive
  4. if an import check the speedo conversion as this may cause intermitant problems with steering,1st thing to do is make sure the belt tension is adequate, check fluid levels, simple things first

what car did you buy  jeez all your posts have been asking for help id recomend booking your car in for a checkover with a specialist,do you have an aftermarket steering wheel fitted,if so then the hicas hub may not off been lined up 100% when the wheel has been refitted,if the pumps moaning then that sounds like my misses and may be on her way out :D but seriously id get the car looked over TBH

then its fooked,if you no oil pressure whatsoever your car would of died along time ago  new sender needed ;)
  10. yeh possibly! there are lots of vacuem hoses around the plenum check around for any obvious signs of cracks etc,but tbh if your getting full boost,to whichever setting your inputting then any leak will be so slight it isnt worth worrying about
  11. that should be ok,aslong as your getting full boost and it isnt peaking off,do you have an aftermarket gauge,if not you should ;)
  12. as far to the left as possible, normally just up a bit,if it sits higher then you may well have a faulty gauge or vacuem leak
  13. greg replied to a post in a topic in General Discussions - 300ZX Related
no but the lack of oil pressure could off caused bottom end damage, but you cant go of what the guage says as there not the most of accurate gauges, best thing to do is fit an aftermarket gauge plumbed in off the oil tree housing or using a sandwhich plate, get a true reading off the oil press, then go from there,a faulty oil pump could be the cause or blocked oil way, resulting in the failure off a bearing on the rod/s
  14. bet ya glad you didnt buy a TT then
  15. Sorry to see jay good luck in the future :)
  16. depends where you read it NA APPROX 0-60 6.8 SEC TT 0-60 5.5SEC with some mods its possible to see low 5s
  17. wasnt keen when i first saw them vin,but know there fitted look v.nice mate :D
  18. when cold oil pressure is higher, but dont believe everything the gauge says,an aftermarket one is the best solution
  19. yep your correct but to be fair, come MOT time 1-2 300s fail on this worn hicas tie rod
  20. get your head out ya arse fitting an ALC to an already old gearbox will ceartainly not prolong the life of the box check condition of the oil,but im fearing your box is dead, most are dying now and need upgrading, hope an oil change will help.
  21. As i said MOST manuals dont have cruise, but as it was to answer the mans question the reason there is no cable on the linkage is cruise control cable is connected there! and the actual turn on the 4 wheel steer is 1 degree so you wouldnt see it,and 15year old worn hicas arms, bushes it may not work very well anyway.
  22. i miss mine, bud worst thing is i see mine daily FFS :headvswal
  23. the differant readings on boost gauges oil gauges, are because uk models use psi and imports use kg/cm so either way, there both the same just differant measurements. in the centre next to the throttle cable is used for the cruise control,as your looking at a manual most do not have cruise control, autos tend to have this dont understand what you mean by play at the rear, are you reffering to the hicas 4 wheel steer or just general wear? i had a megaphone exhaust ws a nice exhaust not to loud, but still sounded ok!check it hasnt rusted though :smw: cambelt is a fairly big job for anyone but if your a compentent mechanic then go for it,also recomended to be done at the same time is,water pump, tensioner, thermostat, water hoses, aux belts, have a look in the traders section there are a few traders in there z-tech being one of them ;) who can do general servicing and engine rebuilds greg
  24. id buy it for the novelty of owning a very late spec, wouldnt be hard to fit a TT lump in :D
