  1. Did you reset the base idle and check if the IAA "takes over" the idle? It may be that you have a faulty IAA.
  2. The ecu one isn't colour coded either iirc
  3. Can you twist the shifter to the left and right?
  4. Looks to be ok but your idle revs are a little high should be around 750. Your AAC should be 15 - 40% at idle, yours is a bit low at 12. Probably just need to adjust your base idle a tad to sort it. Saying all that, I'm by no means an expert so before doing anything I'd wait and see what other say :) (phew, got out of that one! lol)
  5. Must admit, I've been thinking about going ditching my short shifter. Just feels a bit harsh when selecting gears.
  6. Brilliant, do you get the chinese man free with it?
  7. Nice one mate. I was so chuffed when I finally got mine in.
  8. No wasn't being sarky mate, think it would look cool if lit up, be good for shows etc..
  9. Looks smart mate, you going to put an EL panel behind it???
  10. Yeah that's not the right gasket for an apexi, it should be squareish on the outer edges and line up with the 4 bolt holes that hold the filter on. Unless you can find a proper apexi gasket, i would do as you suggest and seal it with silicon.
  11. I had idling problems with mine, I had set the tps correctly and adjusted the base idle, maf was giving correct readings as well. I then pulled the yellow plug off the ficd valve at the back of the engine and turned the idle screw right down so that the car was about to stall. Plugged the ficd yellow plug back in and nothing happened. What should have happened was that the ficd should have taken over the idle from the ecu signal and settled around 750rpm. Result was a sticking valve, took it off cleaned it all up and re did the above. When it was plugged back in it took the idle upto 750rpm. Problem solved.
  12. Unless the gasket is absolutly soaked I wouldn't have thought it was the problem. It's more likely that the water is being sucked in via the filter. Have you gone through any deep puddles? As it may have sucked the water in from underneath the car. There's a little plastic flap on the front of the car that sits under the airfilter, have you got this?
  13. Yep, that can cause your problems. Take the filter AND maf off the car and put them in the house for a couple of days. It needs to dry out completely, should be fine once dry. You need to work out why so much water is getting into it. Have you got a vented centre panel? As these are great for letting water into the filter. HTH
  14. I've had a look mate but can't find anything, have got a better idea of what the fan should be doing though :) cheers
  15. As above, Mine spins with the engine but I can't say that it's going any faster when the engine is up to temp than it did when first started. Is it failing or am I just being paranoid?
  16. Get some of those wheels, tyre's and launch control from the new GT-R . Made a massive difference to that. lol
  17. The lambda's are the black ones mate
  18. That's the drivers side vct solenoid wire. Can't really tell from the pic but it looks like the wires are damaged where the insulating tape ends. Might be shorting out there.
  19. Great, that'll help me out. Cheers mate.
  20. not the engine ECU but the one that controls the autobox. Can this be unplugged and removed since I've converted to manual? cheers
  21. Does sound like an airlock, thought I'd done mine but the pump was making a sucking noise when I turned the wheel. It just needed the fluid topping up, burping then topping up some more. etc..
  22. It is an odd one. Daft question, but you have got the battery the right way round haven'y you :)
  23. Got my info from Yowser when I asked about connecting up the neg lead, pretty sure mine isn't connected to the engine but then I do have a pretty poor memory :) I would try disconnecting the amp for the moment and see if that makes a difference.
  24. Battery neg lead should go : batt > firewall > gearbox bellhouse. Sounds like you've connected those up. Have you got that battery doodah on top of your cover wired in? If so I would strip the wiring down to stock connections on the batt leads and try that.
