  1. Freaky hands with those wierdo double-jointed thumbs !
  2. There is a rev limiter in the ECU, it can be altered in custom maps.
  3. My brakes were OK when spot on, you could squeal the tyres at about 60mph on the right road surface. However, I drove Timmy Turbo's and it was absolutely lethal. Glazed pads, glazed discs, and probably sticking pistons, virtually nothing happened and I thought I was going to break the seat mountings at about 30mph. New discs and pads made a big difference, but it was never as good as mine. The calipers are OK, but bigger discs help a lot, the clamping force is OK, but MA (Mechanical Advantage) is improved. I reckon with bigger discs, new fluid and refurbished calipers you'd be fine for most road use. I decided to go for a 350Z setup, because they were almost new, looked great and I offset the cost by selling my standard setup to the 200sx boys.
  4. If the standard brakes are in tip top condition then they are acceptable, as has been said, by this time most are not.
  5. What this means is that the '99 spec cars will not be approved unless the cleaning and/or self levelling part is resolved.
  6. For some reason the payment didn't get associated with your forum account, maybe you didn't use the automated link. Anyway, I'll fix it for you.
  7. Women are built to confuse ! Hypothetically, she should get a second test, a different type ...
  8. Mike Feeney - MJP, keep up lad ! ;)
  9. Probably 07767 415804, but Mike would know.
  10. I did a similar thing, you can take them apart and swap all the gubbins over, although you do have to cut the plugs off and resolder them as they don't fit through the holes. And yes, Series II usually have heated mirrors.
  11. I've bought two cars from eBay, but I think that only one actually went through their system properly. Also, another that was a classified ad, so that doesn't really count. Plus I sold my wreck of a Xantia (fully described), with no hassle from any of them.
  12. There's a guy just outside Chelmsford called Karl, that Mike Feeney uses.
  13. Jeez, that's bad. You'll need to get a lot of that cleaned off before you can work out where it's coming from. I suppose the good news is that it'll be a big leak, so it shouldn't be too difficult to find.
  14. Yes indeed, but they do work well and look nice when it's all done.
  15. Rubbish ! Of course using the wrong grade is far more likely to cause damage.
  16. 10w40 is fine. Synthetic will last longer than a semi etc, but most people change their oil so frequently it's not really 'worn out' anyway.
  17. I have one of the battery conditioning/chargers which I leave connected all the time.
  18. The DVLA used to do this, but maybe it was only for classic cars. There is privacy to be considered these days too. Of course there is a possibilty that people on here may know something about your Z32.
  19. You also left about a pint on my driveway - seriously, it leaks a lot !
  20. Generally, you will need to speak to the Parish Council, as they are responsible for these. They will co-ordinate with the Highways Agency.
  21. That's that last time I help a fireman with his pole !
  22. Alternatively, you could bring the car over my place tomorrow and I'll check it over for you. I don't have time to go to the meet but it's only about 7 miles from me.
  23. Yep, a faulty ECU can cause that.
  24. OK, this is what I have. 1 Pair Jap spec indicators, vertical pattern, drivers side has hole. 1 pair Jap spec indicators, mesh pattern, minor scratches on passenger side 1 Jap spec fog/driving light, passenger side, has small hole but repaired with Araldite No little plastic bits for fog light unfortunately.
