  1. I'm sure they're not allowed to do this any more ....
  2. No, the limiter is in the ECU. You need to replace it (chip it), or fool it (speedo convertor).
  3. Oh no, we won't know it's you now !!
  4. OK, got it. Thanks and welcome !
  5. When did you make the payment ? I see nothing against your name. If you use the Subscription link it all happens automatically.
  6. Are you certain you have all the vacumn lines connected up right ? Fuel pressure will only be a problem (running rich wise) if it is over, not under. Suggest you ignore the missfire and concentrate on the hesitation, take a look at these, if you haven't already :- http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/hesitation/hesitation.html http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/hesitate2.html http://www.es-ab.se/z-car/IdleTech.html http://www.es-ab.se/z-car/IdleTech2.html
  7. EasyStart - shouldn't do any harm, it's kinda like aerosol petrol. Like someone said, get him to check the voltage at the battery, if it's more than 14.8v then you have a regulator/alternator problem.
  8. Hmmm, guess not ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltong
  9. Isn't Biltong venison rather than beef ?
  10. What happens when you put his old ECU in your car ?
  11. It's sun dried, spiced slivers of beef.
  12. That's the chip he started with !
  13. I would suggest cleaning all the electrical connections under the bonnet. Also, are there any ECU error codes ?
  14. http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20080806/tired-of-that-old-paint-job-on-your-car-foil-it/
  15. They will only work above certain speeds and that speed will largely be determined by the aerodynamics under the car. So, I suspect that just bunging one on the back will make less difference than if additional work is also done underneath.
  16. Have a feeling it's 46mm, I have the socket at home (needs to be a deep socket). However, the nut size is labelled in the online manual.
  17. MGB-GT - think they are 4 seat. Lots of support, manageable size, not too expensive and even a V8 option. Ideally an Aston DB4/5 though !!!!
  18. I've grown my own and I think it's nearly full !

    Happy Birthday Phil.
  20. Generally, to slow the car without brakes you should steer into the hedge/verge. Trees are to be avoided at all costs !
  21. I've got two faulty ECU's with exactly that problem.
  22. Thanks, overdid the :duffer: a bit yesterday and feel very tired today ....
  23. As far as I'm concerned if you can't measure it with scientific aparatus then it doesn't exist. Just watch Derren Brown, he did a program on spiritualists and the like.
