  1. Probably best with a ceramic blade if you do it yourself
  2. It's definitely lighter and no significant loss of structural integrity but Petes is lighter I'm pretty sure :)
  3. Thanks guys. I have a lot of work to do for TOTB but we have the potential and I am pretty sure we will give the GTOs a run for their money. Might do time attack at brands later in the year funds dependent and of course only if I think we have a winning car.
  4. Not set up yet but running it with AEM ECU. No won't be switching maps to start with its a simple 100 shot from third over 4000 revs. However it's likely I will suffer lag with these turbos so my intention is to use progressive controller or series 3 AEM to use the nos to reduce lag. Sounds simple but isn't :-)
  5. Have spent the day at Blyton Park sprinting with the MLR. Times were poor but my first real shakedown and low on power so it's to be expected I guess. Came knowing I had no alternator so been having to charge battery and a overheating issue which needs sorting so it's been tough. Nothing has fell off and the car feels well balanced and behaved very well. Tyres not ideal for sprinting lol. I am working on my gear changes very difficult with the dog box but have learnt a lot but still a lot to do. Car looks great!!!! Going to do a couple more runs tomorrow morning then head home and try to enjoy the five hour drive :-(
  6. When I change those Ashspecz side mount HGV intercoolers I will save a bit there too lol
  7. Weighed mine today Pete and with a full tank of fuel 1270kg too :-) not bad considering the weight of the turbos lol. That included extinguisher both seats and full fluids so pretty good. Just the NOS bottle to fit so will go up a bit I reckon I will stay just below 1300kg :-)
  8. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=680801705367633&id=100003134288593 First run on dyno Mallory was tough couldn't see out of the windscreen (not good on a new and very wet track with DZ03s on). Took me four laps to find the exit pit lane lol. We learnt a few bit unfortunately my brand new just fitted Z1premium short shifter disintegrated!!! What a waste of money that was!! So car is now going back to AME for a bit of work so ready for Saturday hopefully. Wastegate boost only just under 500bhp at 7psi but will probably leave it there till after the weekend. Some pix later maybe Pete has a few but the car looked great.
  9. The car is on the way to the dyno and hopefully will be sorted tonight. All being well it should have something posted up by Dan on facebook :) I will be at Mallory Park tomorrow morning for a little bit of testing (hopefully). I am booked into the MLR sprint at Blyton Park this Saturday 31st May and if all goes well I will also do the Sunday 1st June and have a go with the GTROC and Porche 964 sprint :) Clearly I don't believe in the phrase 'choose your battles wisely' lol.
  10. Fired it up for the first time and here it is on video. I couldn't stay and they still had a lot of work to do so I doubt it hit the dyno today so most likely next week.
  11. If it's on a proper paddock stand it's almost impossible to roll off. I wouldn't personally leave the brake on not for any particular reason though :-) sorry to hear about the bike hope it's an easy fix.
  12. In a few short hours will be firing it up so fingers crossed.
  13. As above but you can buy attachments which like mine will fit under crash bobbins. I also use a front stand if it's standing for a while but the problem here is you can't use the steering lock. If you do decide to use both front and rear make sure you attach rear first and remove the front first and if you're not sure why try it but get a video as it'll be funny. I've got a front and rear which I don't need any more :( I can take a few pix when i get home at the weekend if you're interested I'll let em go cheap :)
  14. yes the new loom is pretty much complete :) we decided to remove all the gauges and feed everything into the Racepak which has been slightly problematic and of course i wanted to remain road legal so we've had to add some more but getting there and nearly good to go. I'm looking forward to seeing those turbos in action too! And you know me a 100 shot of NOS always helps put a smile on the face lol. And if you think that's mad Andy Forest's scoobie has a 300 shot!!!! No wonder he manages an 8 second quarter :)
  15. I agree it's going to be a fantastic event :)
  16. Slowly getting there as pix show :) have got some testing planned for this Friday afternoon just really on brakes then if all is well Mallory Park next Wednesday morning. If testing goes well then I'll be doing a few sprints/hillclimb/drag over the next month or so try and get some seat time. For the first time ever I will be naming my car but first let's get some testing out the way then I will christen it :)
  17. And now Bobgenie Paulzx Slickpete Iangreenfield Tomfromthenorth Dicky96 Keano :)
  18. Enjoyed the track too much huh :) Good man Sunday is all we need!
  19. Car looks good on track :) brakes not working has to be one of the scariest things on track but like James said testing is the key to making it a fast and safe car.
  20. New AEM fuel system going in today
  21. I'm hoping to use the 9.5 with the 265 on the front and we know they fit. I'm pretty sure it will work fine :) Yes Mr Bolt tracking can be experienced with the wider fronts but it wouldn't affect driving on track only on the public road which I won't be doing a lot of :)
  22. Won't confirm till I've finished testing but going for 265 to start but have options of 235 if we can't get heat into the bigger rubber :)
  23. My new 10.5 wheels imported from Japan:)
  24. Good luck mate. Actually I'm leaving Tadley with my 2+2 on the trailer at around 05.00 bound for Advanced Motorsports just to give it a tweak now I'm keeping it. Zeds on trailers used to be a bad thing but if we keep working on it maybe one day it will become a 'good' thing :)
