Try the fuel pressure regulator and dampner units both on fuel lines. These tend to leak. I replaced mine, then the fuel pump then fuel filter then converted to manual. Now I'm happy to say I'm getting approx 300 miles per tank depending on where I'm driving. Used to be 220 on the Auto

I would have agreed with you if I hadnt been driving auto Z's for the last 3 years. Both my zeds autobox's are screwed so decided to change one to manual(UK) and repair the SWB's Auto. Must say I still like the auto . while the manual is a more involving drive it never seems to have the umph you feel when a TT auto kicksdown to first. I also find I am driving my manual car like an auto Instead of gearing down I just floor it if fifth and give myself lots of time. Deffinitely best of both world

Changed oil this evening and did and ECU reset, changed battery Will clean throttle bodies and Mass air flow meter this evening hopefully that will sort it out PS Yes I have stock air filters and no it was not raining. How would a dodgy O2 sensor effect car performance?? Cheers Roy

Driving to work this morning. The car started to stumble as I accelerated and when foot to floor she seems to hesitate as she approaches full boost. If driving easy she's fine only when accelerating hard. I have a new fuel pump, filter and F.Press.Regulator new plugs so dont think its a fueling problem Recently converted to manual but Not sure how that would effect it. No smoke from turbos so dont think its them . Car is stock mechanically 105K UK. Wondering could it be air intake or Mass flow sensor?? Any help appreciated as I am off to France in the Car friday (supposedly) Roy

Same thing happened to my SWB Filter disintegrated making its way through the box clogging everything Although you may be lucky. It may be just the TPS. To an autobox diagnostic first to see what error coded turn up

No error codes on Box

Mark He is actualy a mercedes Auto specialist. So far he is saying if we replace speed sensor and potentiometer Iwill get my gear shift back. Which was the main problem BUT If i continue to use the box even with some of the particles in it ie not a clean environment I run the risk of blowing the box completely due to overheating or destroying the face of the torque convertor. What do you think

Box on SWB Series 3 is being checked by auto specialist in Dublin He hasnt worked on Many Z's so looking for some info regarding his diagnosis. Z wouldnt change from 2nd to third. 1st to 2nd OK On inspection the Filter in he Box had disintegrated and its pieces were making their way through the BOX ruining it. After a full flush and clean we ended up with only first gear. Now we are going to replace both the Speed sensor and TPS and this should do the trick. However: He has been advised from a UK specialist thet if this happens and it seems to regularly you still have to remove the box and remove and re-assemble torque convertor to clean. ALso the Oil cooler rad has to be removed and replaced as they CANNOT be cleaned thoroughly as particles can get lodged in the veins. Are these last two topics really necessary IF so it will send my Repir bill from a couple of hundred euro to 2500 euro big difference. Any ideas Thanks Roy
