  1. Something funny happening today When engine cold on startup but foot on accelerator and the revs drop to nearly 0 before coming back and increasing. Nearly caused me to crash this morning on roundabout. Saw gap on roundabout. But the boot down to go. The revs dropped instead of increasing car nearly cut out , and took approx 2 secs to recover. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted the above about a month, ago. I have changed air filter, fuel filter and cleaned throttle bodies. Still no luck. Someone mentioned it could be an airleak. How do I find this?? On a main junction yesterday I went to turn left. Revs dropped and she cut out as I attempted to accelerate. Took nearly 2 mins of starter turning over before she Kicked to life. Very embarrassing with 30 to 40 cars qued up behind me. Any other thoughts?

How much?? Would have to be cheap to prevent me from doing the Manual conversion?
  6. Would you take a trade in on a 91 Uk spec Auto TT with 99k Just servised , cam belts, water, pump front and rear bushes.?
  7. My brother bought a 1998 S14a 200sx last week but fuel pump is ***ked. Does anybody here know if the promera fuel pump fits the 200 sx. Third party garages have said all nissan fuel pump are the same Is this correct???
  8. Woops , S14a. I stand corrected
  9. While I do love my Zeds The constantt trouble and expense has me thinking of gettingshot of at least one of them. Both ar autos and I am hankering for a manual,(always have been, even though I have been driving Auto Zeds for 3 years now). Just test drove a 98 S14a 200sx. Full leather in metallic green. I had an s14B before buying my first Z in early 2000. I forgot how fast these cars really are. I think itwould give my UK spec Auto a fright. My SWB Auto TT would wip its arse but thats a chipped TT with 40K on the clock (Although I've blown the Auto BOX recently and havent driven it since June.) Question By the 200SX or convert to Manual???????
  10. whats the best method to clean the TPS Is there a procedure to remove it from the engine. I unscrewed the two screws but the TPS still seemed firmly attached:confused:
  11. How do you clean the coolant sensor?? Jeff TT any ideas??
  12. The hesitation as I accelerate from stationary is getting worse. Not only is it hesitating but revs are now dropping and the car has cut out on several ocassions. Once the car is warm the symptom disapears. Fuel pump and air filter just done but no help. She is becoming increasingly hard to start in the morning also. BIGROY you said you has similar problems and it was a vacuum leak, How did you diagnose this and resolve. does a PTU failure cause this type of problem? Cheerz R

    Could be fuel pump
  14. Z's seem to be holding steady at 4000 for 90 to 92 and around 5000-6000 for 93-94. If in good condition.
  15. Below is the procedure for TT.NET for changing fuel filter. They say the relay is under the drivers fotwell. This is for a left hand drive Z. Just had a look at mine and there is no sign of it on the right hand side of the car. Is it near the ECU?? Another of the simple DIY jobs on the Z. A clogged fuel filter can cause a lot of problems from simple hesitation to cratering an 1. Remove the driver's kickpanel, 2 screws are in the side of the panel, 2 are in the firewall, the last one is under the carpet by the dead pedal (5 x phillips). Remove the first two screws of the door jamb's plastic trim (2 x phillips). The kickpanel interlocks with the front edge of the door jamb trim. Disconnect the fuel pump relay (bright green in my '95) in the driver's kickpanel (1.).
  16. How did you find out its an air leak. Where was the air leak??
  17. Thanks guys Have done the throttle bodies couple of months back Air filters 7000 miles ago. I will do the fuel filter and reset the ecu and see what happens Roy
