  1. Sensible idea I think mate Why someone wouldn't want you to see it before making the decision to commit to buy is beyond me
  2. It couldn't hurt to ask him for as many pics and a vid of it running as he can take mate, might save you a wasted journey if it turns out to be a dog..
  3. XMG Nice Bentley your uncles got there by the way mate :whistling:
  4. For your average soldier operating in Belfast back in the day it was clearly very different to how Belfast is for todays young squaddies......these days every 5th round is a pint of Fosters followed by a flaming Sambuca chaser!
  5. Never seen or heard of one mate, but after a quick google....well.....it's basically an old Land Rover that Murdoch and BA have set about isn't it!
  6. For some reason AFV recognition used to get rammed down our throats week after week (even getting tested on Cold War vintage kit that was long out of service....I never quite figured out why that was? Then again even in the '90's and well into the 00's the crusty old headshed still insisted on us training in preparation for fighting the Soviets on Salisbury Plain???)
  7. Which gets better MPG the Bentley or the Saracen?
  8. I understand the principle I'm just suggesting that there are far too many variables/factors to consider (surface, conditions, driver, tyres, power output etc) to be able to state categorically that RWD are faster than AWD and FWD If it were always the case then the Revolution FD would have trounced all of the pace setting Evo's at the WTAC by now surely?
  9. If it's a straight up head to head then it's probably a good idea to drop the pressure in your rear tyres..... and let his down beforehand! :devil2: and don't forget, over the coming weeks keep making reference to an annoying 'misfire and fuelling issue' that you're still trying to rectify on the zed and the 'small boost leak' that you've been having problems with.....and if all go's wrong and you lose then the zed's only been running on 5 cylinders!
  10. I'd say that's a bit of a sweeping statement regarding RWD being faster than AWD and FWD cars, there are far too many variables surely, you've only got to look at Time Attack to see the comparative time differences set by AWD cars. *and just to add a no bullshit experience, myself and a handfull of colleagues each took it in turn to be a passenger in a Ford Focus RS with the old Stig (Ben Collins) driving. This was around Dunsfold back in December 2009. He/it was fookin' quick....he then smashed the front left rim to pieces on the last but one corner! Granted I have no direct comparison around Dunsfold with a zed (though I do with a Merc Sprinter van full of kit, but that's another story....) though I suspect the RS on that particular track and in those conditions (very cold, slightly frosty) would be quicker all round as the zed would have been a bit of a handful in trying to get the power down, Stig driving or not.
  11. No spec on either car or driver obviously, but all the same I wouldn't underestimate the lil' RS and on the same note, take a look at the times that standard Clio Cups (172 and 182) set whilst lapping Cadwell....
  12. My thoughts exactly
  13. Isn't the air still going through the filter though? ie. Air sucked through filter/filters by turbo/turbos which is then cooled by air passing through the I/C before cooled air entering throttle bodies? or have I got that wrong?
  14. There are some very strange people in this world in fact that reminded me of Panorama the other week.....I'm gonna' call bluffer on this bloke, who clearly practices staring in the mirror (check out 05:52) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8g57CMMLjs *Note: the bloke in this clip doesn't work for Paisley Freight so you'll be ok with them mate......this bloke actually works for Finders!
  15. Nobody around here does, I don't even get bothered by trick or treaters anymore....not sure why, maybe the Claymores by the door knocker puts them off! but the courier is the same bloke everytime and to be fair he was a bit sheepish on the one ocassion when he handed over, what was by that stage, a particularly floppy three piece bumper
  16. Yep, though I suspect the muddy footprint in the middle of the bumper had something to do with it aswell
  17. I still use them all the time to be fair because they are very good....as you said mate, just my luck really
  18. If you're going to use Paisley Freight make sure you take out the insurance! I've had a few FRP body parts couriered via them and they have all arrived broken. Having said that for wheels and tyres you can't really go far wrong (well they may send two of your wheels to Birmingham Speedway and the other two to Surrey, lose the brummie' pair for two weeks but eventually find them and deliver all four back to Hereford where they were originally collected from) but apart from that they are really very good
  19. Blah ****ing blah, WTF?!?....without question the best sales technique that, straight out of the Alan Sugar 'Guide to Guaranteed Sales' book Blah, blah says to me 'cannot be friggin' arsed'
  20. Finding a SWB of that spec will be pretty difficult mate, however with a bit of searching on ebay/Pistonheads over the next few months you're quite likely to come across a number of LWB TT's claiming 400-450bhp. That being said to find one that is genuinely running those power figures rather than a sellers guesstimate, I feel will be a bit of a quest......but no doubt they are out there.
  21. That's one way to do it I suppose
  22. Well how about: -Really nice Valentine's card -Big bunch of flowers -Pride and Prejudice DVD (1995 version) -Pride and Prejudice DVD (2005 version) -Gone with the Wind DVD -'Personalised mug' from the kids -Teddy bear with lots of 'Love You' etc etc and quite frankly, if she doesn't buy me any of the above then she can bugger off!! :whistling:
