My SWB Zed...
Are you going to cut your losses on this mate or are you still planning on getting it straight and back on the road?

Forged engine + bits approx value now?
If this Jap engine was shit I'd probably have paid for the other one to have been fitted by now, but it's too good to justify pulling it out  though the starter motor has just packed in!! Luckily Marty dropped a replacement off last time he stayed at mine

Forged engine + bits approx value now?
Hello mate how's it going? I'm actually having another clearout of excess clutter  After finding ourselves in the position of potentially being pissed about by a farmer who blatantly didn't want to sell up and move out (messy divorce by all accounts) we found a much nicer place up on a Welsh mountainside. We viewed it twice, put an offer in and just the other day we found out that our offer was accepted so now everything has to earn it's place for the move and anything that's not needed is being sold off. These engine bits may not be needed now so I figured I'd do a bit of fishing to see what the approximate value would most likely be I've actually got my eye on something else now so I'll either commit to that once we're settled in the new place (and sell the zed) or hang fire on the new car and run with an option that I discussed with Mitch the last time I was up at Drift Garage......he likes dropping 2JZ conversions into non Toyota's, so there's a bit of a hint, but we're contemplating taking it a stage further! I'm very concious of the fact that I tend to have all these weird and wonderful ideas but then have a tendancy to get distracted and slowly lose interest half way through, so this time I want to make a choice and stick with it to the end...:tongue_smilie:

Yeah I figured that would be the case. Cheers bud

Suspension and camber
Not sure mate but we had to swap out the straight Driftworks front tension arms (similar style to those highlighted) because they kept catching on the inner rim when on full lock. For the most part they are fine on a zed (as proven by the fact that a lot of guys on here are running them) but I believe the issue that we encountered was in part due to the negative offset of the rims (-7) and also due to us having dialled in a lot of front negative camber. We ended up switching to the Driftworks Geomaster 2 type with the slight bend in the design to avoid them catching.

Out of interest more than anything, what would you expect the following to go for (individual and as a job lot)? I'm pricing up what I have sat on the bench in my workshop at the moment and am curious to see what it's worth now having spent north of £12k on it but never actually used it Whifbitz ported/polished heads + cams/adjustable pulleys (from Monster's 600bhp white track zed) Forged built bottom end Carillo rods/Arias oversized pistons, everything else replaced with new OEM I believe AMS mani's + new gasket set HKS down pipes Nismo 740's on late model fuel rail Unorthodox Racing pulleys Polished plenum/pipes AEM EMS (S1) GT675RS turbos (1 housing needs replacing) Cometic gasket new set ARP head bolts Fuelab FPR + gauge

Advice on large screen monitor
I could probably make use of one or two but would obviously depend on price and condition. Would you be interested in zed bits rather than cash?

Any scope for dipping into club funds in order to send some flowers from the club members?

Where to go for drifting or 4*4 days in North East
Be careful if you go for a drift experience day as there have been issues with the days run at Birmingham Wheels/Birmingham Speedway. Granted Birmingham isn't North East but there aren't too many places to choose from.

Different vehicle mate. I won't necessarily get shot of the zed straightaway but I've got my eye on something and already have the all important long haired general's approval  Two friends of mine, Pete KH and Jamie have always been Radical, Porker and lovers/owners of Italian exotica. Jamie has owned several Radical's over the years, whilst Pete has always favoured the Porsche (I owe a lot to both of these guys for helping me set up my company and securing some tidy contracts). Pete actually came in 4th and 3rd in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge races that he entered at Donnington Sunday before last in his Parr Motorsport sponsored 911 GT3. Anyway for years now they've both been trying to lure me away from my fixation with Jap metal but I've always stood firm, adament that I'd never been too keen on Porkers and that Ferarris' were just flashy Fiat's!! All I'll say is that this piece of kit is a bit special whilst still remaining perfectly road legal :shifty:

United Champions
I agree 100% mate and it would appear that Liverpool also think the same, however someone forgot to tell Suarez that (1) Chelsea won it 'last year' but are already out of top flight Europe this year and (2) it isn't meant in the literal sense!!

My latest SWB TT Z32 build
Due to work commitments overseas and allsorts of other issues this has been on the back burner since last year however I thought I'd give a quick update on this as I've had time to tinker recently. The intention for 2013 was to commit to a full season of TA however due to my now being officially classed as a disabled driver I couldn't just sign on on the day and get my National B non-race licence like most. I discussed the situation with BMSAD (British Motorsport Association for the Disabled) and was put in touch directly with the MSA department who would be dealing with my application. Unfortunately it would appear that 6 months advance notice is not sufficient time for submission and review of medical reports etc and I am still waiting on confirmation of a med board Either way the delay has been a bit of a blessing in disguise as I ended up flying to the US on a last minute contract so would have missed round 1 at Cadwell anyway. The decision has therefore been made to spend this year focusing on getting the setup of the car as best as can be and running with the current engine and an assortment of tyre options. I'll be relying heavily on the guys at Hereford Tyres for their support, expert advise and constant use of their HUNTER system. Confirmed sponsors to date: Oracle (SP) Ltd, Hereford Tyres, Mikina Precision Engineering, J&R Recovery, Hereford Muay Thai (MMA Universe) This will be an interesting year as and when I can find the time to run it on track, next year we'll be looking at upgrading to something a bit different :ninja:

External CCTV options
That's a fair shout, Swann/Sentinel etc are all pretty simple to install and most these days have free remote viewing for Iphone and Android. I picked up a pretty cheap 4 channel H264 system from Maplins today for a shade under £200 and installed it for a mate of mine at his salvage yard, and to be fair it's easier to use than the uber expensive Honeywell that I'd lent him as a temporary measure. All in I reckon it took about 20 minutes to install.... On a side note if your CCTV is for security purposes I'd steer clear of anything that's off the shelf wireless, purely because from a security aspect anybody can view your videos feeds with a cheap handheld scanner (some cost as little as 99p). Wired is always the better option in my opinion. I also noticed today that Maplins are now offering their own version of the Bushnells trail cameras (again made under the Swann name) and are priced pretty cheaply at £89 for a 5MP version, that would be an option as they are generally run DC (AA's) and because they are re-active they use very little power I did mention your heron issue during conversation and he's suggested putting fishing wire/cat gut across your pond. By all accounts when the heron brushes up against it with his leg they'll flap like **** and fly away!!! Maybe that'd be worth considering before going down the whole net across pond route?

Yep he caught them, it turned out it was one of his employees and his employees wife! He'd rob it from the yard and then head out on his early morning route towards Worcester, stopping off en route at a layby to cross deck the fuel to his mrs car and would then carry on with his route We put a covert camera/mic and DVR into the taillight of the truck and one in his cab......banged to rights and both were subsequently arrested by the Police! I honestly don't know if they were charged though but the Bushnells kit was good enough to give an indication as to who we should be watching As for plugging Bushnells kit into 'remote sentry guns'.....no.....but I know someones kit that can be :ninja:

What did you do to your zed today?
I spent the afternoon re-fitting the oil cooler hoses, bolting on the front part of the carbon fibre undertray and finished the first of my 'minimum spend/self refurb' split rims all going to plan so far
